The days came when Elrien stopped screaming—when the pain became so routine that his body no longer reacted.
And Azarien had been extremely hurt by his detached behavior.
"Don't you like spending time with me anymore? I thought you enjoyed our games." He asked, anger was in his voice, it wasn't fun if he tortured Elrien only to get no reaction. It made him feel weak, ignored and Azarien's anger came with another punishment.
For a few days, Elrien had been surprised when Azarien had left him completely alone.
It seemed as though the torture was over.
And then, one morning, he found an injured bird in his chambers. The small creature had been tortured and dying, and that had been the first time Elrien had felt the need to go against the demon King's order.
The old forbidden magic in Elrien's finger tips had nursed the fragile creature to health.
