Chapter Fifty Seven
"I was so scared," Yuta continued, unable to wait any longer, he wanted to voice out all his grievances.
It wasn't the right time, nor place, there were numerous questions to be asked, but there was no wrong timing with Shadow.
Whether the creature was massive or tiny, in Yuta's eyes, his beloved pet could do no wrong.
"Everyone's been so cruel. They all think I'm something dirty now. But you… you're still the same underneath, aren't you? You still care about me." He pressed his face against the serpent's neck, his tears trickling down the black scales.
The serpent made a sound deep in its throat—not quite a hiss, but something softer, almost like a purr that rumbled through its massive chest.
One thick coil settled across Yuta's lap while another curved protectively around his back, drawing him closer to the creature's warm body.
That was when it happened.
