Chapter 16 - Mind Space...

Seyla stood frozen inside his home, eyes wide in disbelief.

Everything around him defied logic, television sets drifted aimlessly through the air, the refrigerator spun slowly next to the kitchen counter, and his bed, kitchen utensils, and furniture, both modern and antique floated chaotically in a space that no longer resembled a house.

Seyla, a graduate from the Science and Technology batch, immediately recognized something was wrong.

The laws of physics were missing.

No gravity. No temperature. Only an expanse of space filled with his belongings, suspended mid-air.

The space around him was divided perfectly in half, light on one side, dark on the other. It looked like a massive box, nearly the size of a castle hall.

As Seyla stood in stunned silence, memories began to surface.

He remembered waking up in an unknown room. He stood up, muttering, "I really hope my friend took me home." Moments later, dizziness overtook him, and then clarity.

He saw a familiar bedroom. The one from his past world. His modern bedroom.

Then another scene returned to him.

He had been panicking about his first employer seeing the state of his house. Suddenly, the house had started to break down. The interior collapsed entirely and reformed, transformed into an old-fashioned design, like a house from centuries ago.

Does that mean this room is connected to me?

Or do I have the power of space?

How is that possible? I only swallowed my first Rune Stone, and I don't remember it giving me a skill related to space…

No—wait. I remember. The first time I woke up in this world, I already changed the space around me, bringing the appearance of my past home. But at that time, I was dizzy… I dismissed it. Could it be that this space is tied to my mind from the beginning?

And that after swallowing the Dream Rune Stone, the dizziness no longer affects me?

What the fuck…

Seyla narrowed his eyes, lost in thought, digging deep into every memory and possibility regarding his connection to this strange dimension.

After thinking for a while, he decided to experiment—he wanted to see what this "space" could really do.

Still standing in the middle of the void, he closed his eyes.

He focused on something that didn't exist in this world.

A small thing. Something simple.

He tried. Failed. Tried again. Failed again.

But after several minutes of intense concentration, something materialized in front of him.

Seyla opened his eyes.

A cellphone hovered in the air. It looked like a Samsung, but only half of it was there. The other half was missing, faded like a ghost.

"This is a phone… but why is only half of it here?" Seyla muttered.

Still determined, he concentrated again, this time on something bigger.

And slowly, in front of him, a figure began to appear.

First the feet, then the legs up to the hips. But midway, the progress stopped.

Seyla opened his eyes and sighed. Disappointment flickered across his face.

"Huff... Huff..."

Panting, he looked at the half-formed body and muttered, "Is this what you feel when you run out of veilstrain? Did I use too much? I think I need more veilstrain to complete a figure… sigh…"

Seyla slumped slightly.

If this space is connected to my mind, then that explains why my house looked different on the inside than outside, he thought.

He decided to explore.

He walked toward the eastern edge, examining the furniture still floating through the air like abandoned memories.

But after several minutes, he stopped, an invisible force barred his path.

"It seems this space is not infinite," Seyla murmured. "There's a barrier on this side. Let's try the other side."

He turned and walked west. Again, a barrier.

Then, he tried the entrance, the place where he had come in. Dead end.

"Based on my understanding, this space has limits. Is it shaped based on me?" he wondered.

And when I gained knowledge about the Divine Kingdom of Dream Magic, it mentioned zero kilometers…

Does that mean this space… is my Divine Kingdom?

I didn't even become a god yet.

Sigh… Can't I have a peaceful life like before?

Seyla returned to the center where the door had been.

As he wandered the vast interior, he focused on recovering the veilstrain he had lost during his failed experiments.

Sigh… I want to rest first before I worry about this… Seyla muttered.

He closed his eyes, he imagined and whispered, "I hope my house on Earth will come here."

He opened them again and watched in awe as the floating furniture slowly began to drift back to their proper places.

First the shelf. Then the television. Next came the couch and the table.

Soon after, the kitchen began to assemble, the refrigerator, the utensils, the counter.

Piece by piece, memory by memory, the familiar rooms of his Earth home took shape.

Finally, Seyla stood in his fully-formed living room, the kitchen neatly restored behind it.

He walked to the couch, sat down, then slowly leaned back—

—and fell asleep.
