Chapter 198 - Chapter 198

Reincarnated as a Fisherman and a Dad Chapter 198

"Mama!"

"Mama!"

Arabella and Iñigo shook Maya to wake her up. They had been eager to start the day early.

Maya groggily opened her eyes and stared at her two adorable little children... She sighed. She had no idea where their endless energy came from, probably from Karlos, because that man had boundless stamina that always left Maya exhausted.

"Let me sleep for a few more minutes," she muttered, closing her eyes again.

"Mama, I'm hungwy."

Arabella hugged Maya and asked for food.

"...Alright. I'll prepare something for you guys."

"Yay!"

While Karlos braved the sea to earn money, Maya was responsible for caring for the kids. She glanced at the clock and realized that it was 7 in the morning.

She prepared the kids' favorite drink, which was milk. She also fed them bread with peanut butter and jelly. At 1 year and 11 months, the twins could basically eat anything.

Maya also ate peanut butter and jelly herself. Today, she planned to wash their clothes.

She turned on the television and let the children watch their favorite kids' shows. Maya then went to the bathroom and sorted the clothes before putting them into the washing machine in batches. Having a washing machine and dryer was such a big help for her.

While sorting, she grabbed Karlos's boxer shorts and subconsciously sniffed them, deeply inhaling the scent... Yes, Maya thoroughly enjoyed her husband's smell.

She washed the white clothes first, followed by the colored ones.

"Ma! Watah!"

In the middle of her chores, Arabella walked up to her and asked for drinkable water.

"You want water, sweetheart?" With tired eyes, Maya smiled at her daughter.

"Yes."

She led her to the kitchen and gave her a glass of water. Arabella chugged the water using both hands, though some of it spilled onto her clothes.

"Here, let me wipe that off."

"Hehe."

"How about you, Iñigo? Do you want water too?"

"Yes, Mama." Iñigo approached her on his small legs and drank his water.

"Whenever you need anything, you can find me in the bathroom. The door is open," she reminded them.

The twins nodded and returned to watching their show. Maya went back to the bathroom and pulled the clothes out of the dryer. She confirmed that the clothes were completely dry and began folding them one by one.

However, in the middle of her chores, the twins once again asked her for food. This time, they wanted to eat rice and a proper dish.

Maya stared at her twins... They could use spoons to eat, but they were still messy. So Maya decided to feed them herself just to make it less of a hassle.

While the washing machine and dryer were running, she took the kids to the kitchen and placed them in their kiddie chairs.

The rice cooker had already finished cooking the rice, and she reheated the beef stew they had prepared last night using the microwave.

In between feeding the twins, Maya also ate a few mouthfuls herself. The twins ate almost everything put in front of them, as they weren't picky eaters at all. By the time they finished, their cheeks were messy, so Maya cleaned their faces.

The kids then played with their toys.

With that taken care of, Maya returned to the bathroom to continue folding the clothes.

A few minutes later, however, the twins showed up holding their toys.

"Ma, we go outside?"

Now that they realized how fun playing with friends was, the twins eagerly wanted to go out.

"Let me finish folding the clothes first, then we can wait for Papa," Maya said, wiping her sweat. She couldn't let the children play outside without supervision, as she was worried something bad might happen to them if she wasn't nearby.

The twins looked at each other. Yesterday, their father had taken them outside, too.

"Papa?"

"Yes, Papa will return at noon. Just wait for him," Maya answered.

The new batch of clothes was dry, and one of the items was another pair of Karlos's boxers. Once again, Maya sniffed them... She probably just missed her husband.

"Noon?" Arabella frowned. She didn't know what noon meant. She turned to Iñigo, silently asking if he knew what noon was.

Iñigo pointed at the clock hanging on the wall. He deduced that noon was a measurement of time, though he didn't know which specific number it referred to. Perhaps he should look at the clock whenever his father arrived so he could figure out what time Karlos usually returned.

At his age, Iñigo had already memorized numbers one to ten by using his fingers to count. But anything beyond that was still a mystery to him. Thus, the confusion.

Having received an answer from their mother, they returned to the living room to entertain themselves. The television was still running, but the children's show had ended, and they had no interest in watching a morning talk show.

For the nth time, after getting bored with their toys, they went back to the bathroom to look for their mother. Maya was nearly finished when the twins appeared, she just had to put the folded clothes into the cabinet.

"Kids, what is it?" she asked patiently.

Arabella giggled and hugged Maya's leg, and Iñigo quickly followed suit, hugging Maya's other leg.

"Hug!"

They simply wanted a hug. Their mother chuckled and gently patted their heads.

"Alright, alright. Let me put these clothes in the bedroom first, and then I'll bake some cookies for you." Maya also intended to bake cookies for the workers at the ice shop. She planned to visit it later with Karlos. For now, she had to wrap up her household chores.

"Yay!"

The twins cheered upon hearing that Maya was going to bake cookies. They even tried to help put their own clothes away in the cabinet, though Maya had to redo it because they only ended up making a mess.
