Chapter 1 - Ordinary Rebirth

It was a bright sunny day. The birds were chirping in the trees, and the sound of children could be heard from afar.

"Haa! Haa! Haa! Haa!"

Twenty children were standing on a flat ground while performing a straight punch.

Each punch carried powerful energy that was transmitted through their skin and released as a blast of air, creating a rumbling in the air.

Among these twenty children, there was one special child.

This child had a unique feature that made him distinct from others. His strange, half-blue and half black hair.

Even his eyes were half blue and half black, making him look mysterious, though the efforts of these children were similar.

Their forehead was covered in sweat, their hands were a bit shaky, but they never lost their focus, nor did they stop their practice.

Despite that, they all had a strange smile on their faces. As if something good was going to happen today.

And twenty minutes later, a middle-aged man wearing a blue shirt and white pants walked forward. He wore a blue belt around his shirt.

After looking at these children, he nodded his head with satisfaction.

Most of them were fourteen years old, with only three being one year younger.

They were the future of the Blue Wave Sect.

Sect was an organization created by individuals to produce powerful and talented people who could get them protection and resources in the future.

They were an investment company. It was something that the unique child could see more than anyone else.

And since it was an organization, it was bound to have rules and connections. Among twenty children, twelve were children of the sect elders and previous disciples.

Only eight disciples were considered to be new to the sect.

And the unique one was one of those disciples.

"Alright, stop!"

The middle-aged man, the fourth elder of the sect, spoke.

In an instant, twenty children stopped their motions and stood straight, with their hands down.

"Congratulations on completing your one-year basic training resume. When you started, there were over fifty disciples, but now, there are only twenty left."

"I am glad to see you pass the basic training resume because from this onward, you will start your cultivation."

"Whether you know it or not, Cultivation is a growth of one's essence, body, and soul. Without a strong body, you can't sustain your cultivation. Without a strong soul, you can't produce Martial Spirit."

"And, without essence, you can't make any progress. Your body has been trained to its maximum limit during this year, and the tough training routine has made your Willpower strong."

"Your Willpower has a direct connection to your soul. So, now you have a strong body and a strong soul. All you need to do is awaken your Martial Spirit."

One of the students raised his hand.

"Speak!"

"Teacher, how can we awaken Martial Spirit?"

The middle-aged man glared at him and said.

"I am getting there. To awaken Martial Spirit, you need to form a connection to nature, trigger your soul power, and absorb the essence of the earth."

"But none of these processes can be fulfilled by you guys. So, throughout tens of thousands of years, we have developed a direct method."

"Introducing- Martial Spirit Awakening Rock"

'Isn't it just a rock?'

The Unique boy's lips twitched as he watched another elder bring a massive ten-foot-tall and five-foot-wide black rock in front of them.

'These people are weird.'

He complained in his mind but didn't change his expression.

Unlike him, everyone looked excited with their eyes shining brighter than light.

"Now, I will call your name, and one by one, you will come forward, touch the stone, and stay for thirty seconds. The entire process only takes about thirty seconds."

"So, let's start with Alan."

A fourteen-year-old child walked forward. He wore a similar grey t-shirt like other children, but he had long flowing black hair tied with a small band.

Alan nervously raised his hand and touched the stone. For a moment, nothing happened except that he forcefully shut his eyes.

Thirty seconds later, everyone saw three large stars appearing on the black rock.

"Three Stars Martial Spirit! Congratulations, your Martial Spirit is a good martial spirit."

The middle-aged man nodded his head with satisfaction. He didn't expect these children to awaken anything more than four or five stars.

After all, those children would not enter sects or would enter extremely influential sects.

Because a person's Martial Spirit's rank could be determined by his lineage. This was called the Bloodline Effect.

The strong person would often give birth to a baby with a strong body and soul under normal circumstances.

As for the type, it would remain secret until the cultivator was willing to reveal it.

"Yes!"

Alan raised both of his hands with excitement and returned to the group.

Soon, another child was called forward, and it continued.

Some awakened One Star Martial Spirit, which was considered a trash Martial Spirit because its upper limit was quite low.

Some awakened Two Stars Martial Spirit, which was nothing great, but not trashy enough to have a low upper limit.

Many awakened Three Stars Martial Spirit, just like Alan, while only one person awakened Four Stars Martial Spirit.

His name was Tom, and he was the child of the Sect Leader.

Yes, he was the heir to the Blue Wave Sect. Unless the current Sect Leader died for some reason or Tom didn't reach the same strength as his father, then the future Sect Leader would definitely be Tom.

After a while, it was finally that unique boy's turn.

"Oak Run"

Oak walked forward and raised his hand. He took a deep breath and touched the rock.

Just like others, his eyes were forcefully closed by a strange energy coursing through his body.

He realized that this energy was the essence of the Earth. It was entering his forehead, which was quite strange.

Because Martial Spirit existed in the center of his body, which was his Naval Point.

It existed in the form of a soul, allowing it to remain within his body or detach from it.

'Come to think of it! What kind of Martial Spirit do I have? Please don't let it be Rank One.'

The next moment, he saw, or rather envisioned, a three-headed wolf in his body.

This wolf had a bluish fur. Three heads extended from its neck, with each head representing something different.

Unfortunately, he couldn't understand it even if he wanted to.

He just opened his eyes and saw the letters on the rock.

"Three Stars Martial Spirit!"

"Congratulations, Oak! You awakened a good one."

The Fourth Elder nodded with satisfaction while the third elder also nodded from the side.

Unlike the fourth elder, the third elder had a rather older look, especially with his white beard reaching his chest and barely left white hair.

'Thank god!'

Oak sighed a breath of relief.

He was afraid that this would be another crazy situation where he would awaken the lowest-ranking Martial Spirit and get humiliated by others.

Because that was pretty much the plot of every single underdog story that he heard in his previous life.

That's right! Oak died in his previous world because of a plane crash and, strangely enough reincarnated in this world.

It was quite confusing to him why his plane crashed. He wasn't confused about reincarnation.

Because if one thing he learned to accept in his life was that before death, everything would remain fiction.

After everything, everything becomes reality.

So, when he was reborn in this world, he neither panicked nor became arrogant.

He was simply raised by his parents for thirteen years until he was sent to Blue Wave Sect to enter the path of cultivation.

He didn't have to sacrifice his parents to get infinite power.

He didn't have any engagement, so he wasn't worried about that.

His parents weren't super powerful being living an ordinary life until their child was strong enough to walk on his own.

Well, it could be true because he didn't have all-powerful omniscient knowledge about his parents.

But from what he could see, his parents were basically low-level cultivators who abandoned their cultivation because they couldn't afford enough resources.

Yes, just like being a doctor or an engineer, it required a lot of capital to become a cultivator.

And just like starting a business, it would cost even more to continue being a cultivator.

Most of the people couldn't afford it, especially if they are people like his parents, who only had a Two-Star Martial Spirit.

They were average people in this Red Stone City.

These were the ordinary people of this world.

Of course, if they were placed in his world, they would be able to go against the army of fully capable and weapons-loaded military soldiers.

After learning that he didn't bring any kind of cheat with him or any sort of powerful device that could help him soar through the sky, he decided to get stronger on his own.

So, this was the journey of a not-so-ordinary person in the cultivation world.
