Chapter 7: Dark Endorsement

He really mastered the Fourth Hokage's Flying Thunder God technique…!

Anko's face hardened. She was a witness to that legendary era—she had seen firsthand how Namikaze Minato turned the tide of war with his peerless teleportation jutsu.

So that Earth Style jutsu earlier wasn't a fluke either, Anko thought. Naruto's been showing abilities that weren't on record—he's been hiding his strength this whole time… Has he been planning this for a while?

"Captain Anko!" Hyuga Tokuma called urgently. "What do we do!?"

Anko gritted her teeth. "We can't win this. Grab Yavaro and Muta—retreat!"

But Naruto spoke calmly. "The others can leave… but not you, Miss Anko. You're staying."

Tokuma's heart jumped. He's targeting Captain Anko!?

Bzzz… At that moment, the scattered insects from earlier began regrouping. The hidden protocol of the Aburame clan had kicked in—if the user was incapacitated, the insects would pursue the last designated target until the mission was fulfilled.

"What a pain…" Naruto muttered, forming hand seals.

—Fire Style: Flame Vortex!

Whoosh! Flames erupted from Naruto's feet, swirling upward around his body in a spiraling blaze. The approaching swarm of insects was instantly incinerated.

Tokuma clenched his fists. "Now's our chance!"

Swish! Swish! Swish!

But before they could move, several shadow clones appeared—wreathed in flame, each charging forward with a Rasengan in hand!

"There's too many—!" Tokuma activated his Byakugan and spun rapidly. Chakra surged from all his tenketsu as he unleashed a full-body rotation defense.

—Eight Trigrams: Rotation!

Bam! Bam! Bam! Bam!

One by one, Naruto's flaming clones were dispersed, torn apart by the revolving chakra dome.

But as the technique ended, Tokuma's eyes sharpened. Naruto's real body had already closed the gap. Chakra pulsed in Naruto's hand.

—Eight Trigrams: Vacuum Palm!

Boom! A shockwave blasted from Tokuma's palm, knocking Naruto back several meters.

Naruto straightened with a grin. "You really are a Hyuga elite. But this is where it ends."

A massive Rasengan began forming in Naruto's palm—bigger, denser, glowing with unstable power. He poured more chakra into it until it swelled with destructive force.

Tokuma's expression stiffened. There's no way I can block that…

"I'll cover you!" he shouted. "Captain Anko—go! Report everything to the village, tell them the truth!"

—Super Giant Rasengan!

Naruto leapt high into the air, his spinning chakra sphere roaring like a storm. Tokuma clenched his fists and braced himself.

—Eight Trigrams: Rotation!

The two forces collided with a deafening boom!

Winds tore through the clearing. Tokuma struggled to maintain his defense, but the Rasengan's pressure began to erode his chakra shield. The outline of his body became visible inside the crumbling barrier.

It wasn't Tokuma's weakness—it was Naruto's overwhelming power.

Crash!

Just before the dome shattered, Naruto dispelled his jutsu, withdrawing the Rasengan to avoid killing his comrade.

Even so, the shockwave sent Tokuma flying. He slammed into a tree and slumped to the ground, unconscious.

Naruto landed softly, eyes settling on Anko. "Now there's no one left to interrupt us, Miss Anko."

Anko's hands clenched at her sides. "Why, Naruto? Why go this far!?"

Naruto hesitated, then pulled up the hood of his cloak. His voice dropped low.

"For the future of the shinobi world… I need the help of that man. And for that, you're indispensable."

"That man…?" Anko's eyes narrowed.

Suddenly, her curse mark pulsed with searing pain, flaring on the back of her neck.

"Urgh—! Why now…? The curse hasn't reacted in years…"

But there was no time to dwell on it. More important things were at stake.

A small snake slipped from her sleeve and vanished into the undergrowth.

Naruto saw it, of course. But he didn't stop it.

Let it go, he thought. If they see me as a traitor, then I can act freely without dragging the village into it.

The snake slithered off with the message. Anko's heart relaxed slightly.

At least I wasn't completely useless.

She stared Naruto down. "Now then… how about I show you what I've got?"

Naruto smiled faintly. "You can still try to escape. You might not make it, but who knows?"

Anko glanced at her fallen comrades. If she fled alone, she might survive—but she wouldn't abandon her team.

She tapped her forehead with her thumb and said proudly, "A shinobi of Konoha never abandons her comrades. You, of all people, should remember that."

Naruto chuckled softly. "Yeah… I know. In this world, those who break the rules are trash—but those who abandon their comrades are worse than trash."

Anko formed a hand seal, focusing her chakra.

Among all my techniques… there's only one that might hurt him. But I need to get him close. First, a little setup…

Her chakra surged.

—Fire Style: Twin Dragon Flame!

Fwoooosh!

Blazing jets of fire surged toward Naruto, shaped like twin serpents.

Naruto's mind raced. If I just overpower her fire, she'll be seriously burned. Better to smother it with water—it's safer that way.

Swish!

Naruto made a rapid hand sign.

—Water Style: Water Dragon Bullet!

A torrent of water exploded forward, swirling into the form of a dragon. It swallowed the fire whole, then crashed down onto Anko.

"Ugh—!" Anko was overwhelmed, caught in the wave.

Whoosh! Naruto lunged forward, reaching out to grab her—

But her hand darted out like lightning. Their fingers locked.

In that instant, their hands formed a seal—together.

"This is the end, Naruto!" Anko shouted. "You're a threat to the village now. If I have to die to stop you, so be it!"

—Twin Snake Sacrifice!

Snap! Snap!

Two serpents burst from her sleeves, winding around both of them. A dark red glow surged between their bodies—the signal of a suicidal jutsu.

Naruto's pupils shrank.

BOOOOOOOM!!!

A massive explosion erupted, flattening trees and scattering debris. Flames roared upward like a beacon in the forest.

Whoosh!

A glint of space-time shimmered at the edge of the blast.

Naruto reappeared outside the zone, carrying Anko in his arms—unconscious.

He looked back at the smoldering crater. "Yeah… hand-to-hand combat really does bring back memories of the old days."

Konan stepped forward, surveying the fallen Konoha ninja.

"They're still alive," she noted. "You didn't kill them."

Naruto nodded. "The animals have already fled the area. Konoha's patrols will be here soon. They'll take care of them."

"Then let's go."

Naruto adjusted Anko over his shoulder, touched Konan's arm, and vanished with a flash of Flying Thunder God.

Moments later, Konoha's Anbu arrived.

The white-cloaked ninja at the front carried a scroll—Anko's emergency message. It had been intercepted mid-transmission and decrypted with ease, revealing the entire battle.

The black-cloaked ninjas behind him checked the fallen shinobi.

"They're still alive," one reported. "Uzumaki Naruto didn't kill them. Mitarashi Anko's status—unknown. Given everything, she was probably taken."

One asked, "Shall we bring them back and inform Lord Danzo?"

The white-cloaked leader, a mid-tier commander from Root—Danzo's shadow corps—narrowed his eyes. He was a devout follower of Danzo and a believer in dark justice.

He raised the scroll. "This is more than enough. These bodies and this message confirm Naruto Uzumaki's betrayal. With the village's public already questioning him, this is perfect timing."

He gave a dark smile.

"There's no need to ask Lord Danzo. Root eliminates threats—no matter who they are. Kill them."

"Understood."

The black-clad shinobi stepped forward in silence.

Shhk!

One by one, they drove their blades into the hearts of Hyuga Tokuma, Aburame Muta, and Yavaro—ending their lives.

Three brave Konoha shinobi, who should have been rescued, were murdered by their own comrades… in the name of "stability."

The white-cloaked Root commander turned, gazing coldly at the blood-soaked clearing.

"Now… Danzo-sama's new era can truly begin."
