Chapter 6 - 6

"Where should we place him?"

"Somewhere where he will be barely noticed."

"Close to nature"

"Octavius is the perfect"

"Yes, I agree. Isn't that where Ezekiel's soul is anchored?"

"The planet has a toxic ocean. It's completely unlivable."

"Yes, but still, a small community of refugees persists here."

"Here, he can grow under hard conditions to become stronger."

"We don't want him to be strong. We want him to be smart."

The souls argued and debated over where they should place the boy

"I assure you, if he's placed on Octavius, not only can he help these refugees, but he will start small and learn from his mistakes more easily."

"Fine, how will we find a willing mortal to give birth to him?"

"Willing?"

"She perfects."

The souls peered through their view, staring at the young woman on Octavius.

The planet Octavius had indeed harsh conditions for growing anything; however, some areas on the planet had a 'heaven', more so an oasis with clean water.

Lauren, a young angel who came here with her mother to help refugees who had lost their homes, worked in the soup kitchen. Unbeknownst to her, many souls were watching.

"Lauren, get me another pot of chicken going," A woman in a chef uniform commanded her as the small crew of cooks quickly moved to feed the hungry people.

"Hey Lauren," A young man said, grabbing a bowl

"Hey Fred," she responded.

"After you are done for tonight, you want to go to Liz's place with me," Fred added, trying to get the busy Lauren's attention.

"Um, I don't know. I'm pretty tired," Lareun added, still focused on her task.

"You sure Liz and Brock said they made a fo sure banger? I imagine you'll love it," Fred said, hoping to win her.

"Ahh, I don't know," Lauren said, mixing the pot before putting the lid on

"Ugh, Daniel will be there," Fred said with a loss

Lauren slightly stopped in her tracks before resuming to respond

"Sure, I'll be there."

Fred shook his head before leaving

Later that day

Lauren said her goodbyes to the crew as they closed up

"Mom, I'm going to Liz. I'll be back later," Lauren said to the head chef, who was also her mom

"Sure thing, hun, be careful," her mother responded

Lauren took her bike. The small refugee camp was 2 miles away from the development of the first small town, where she and other people who came to help refugees or work and live

Arriving on the street of Liz's house, the sound of drums and guitar could be heard

"Hey," the small group of 4 that was already there said to Lauren as she arrived

"This is the banger I heard so much about," Lauren asked, shaking her friend's hands

"That's the only thing you hear from us," Brock said

"How was the kitchen? Any new faces?" Daniel said, standing up to shake Lauren's hand

"Not unless you show up," she smartly said, side-eyeing Daniel

Daniel, feeling a little embarrassed, chuckled

"I know I've been locked up in the lab looking at these gases and how they disrupt mana scans," he said before pulling out pictures from the book he brought

"I wanted to show you guys this. These are pictures of a hole being dug north of the well. We think it's a whole new element; it's a huge thick layer of it, and get this, it's anti-magic material, the best I've ever seen," Daniel said, showing off the pictures to the group.

"Woah, I heard anti-magic metals go for a lot of money," Brock said

"Looks like this won't be a refugee plant for much longer," Fred added, performing a mining motion with his arms

"Ya, I hope so. Sadly, we don't have anything that breaks into it without breaking itself. It's some dense stuff," Daniel added

"They will call the Daniel metal for how dense it is," Fred joked, causing everyone but Lauren and Daniel to laugh

"What? I'm not dense," Daniel proclaimed, causing Lareun to turn a little red

"What," Daniel said, smiling at Lauren

"UM HIT THAT SHIT BROCK" Lauren yelled towards her friend with a smile

The group of five danced to the rhythm

A sudden jolt of pain struck Lauren's abdomen; taken aback, she slowed her movements down.

Not wanting to ruin the mood, she continued to swing and laugh with her friends. Fred reached into the refrigerator and grabbed beers for everyone.

"Who needs it?" Fred said in a joking tone

Lauren raises her hand for a toss from Fred

"No," a voice whispered in her ear

Lauren, slightly startled, glanced behind her only to see the garage wall

"Ah," Liz lightly screamed as the beer for Lauren hit the floor, making a small mess

"Oh my god, I'm sorry. I'll clean it up," Lauren said, holding her stomach

"No, don't worry about it. I got it," Fred said before adding, "You want one, though?" he asked, noticing her mood

"No, actually," she responded, finding her seat again. Lauren felt dizzy. She wiped her face with her hand to find it covered in sweat

She rubbed her stomach, feeling warmth and a sense of heaviness. The sweat only grew more now from fear

"Hey," Daniel said, grabbing her arm

"You okay?" he added

"No, can you give me a ride home? I think I might be sick, actually," she said with a slight chuckle.

"Ya sure you're sweating a lot? I can take you to the hospital if you want," Daniel said again.

"Ya, I'm sure my back feels like I've been standing for hours. I'm sure a good night's sleep will help me," Lauren said before starting her goodbyes with her friends, and then Daniel escorted her to his car.

Daniels's vehicle, after starting up, slowly levitated off the ground and drove away from Liz's house.

After a few minutes of driving, Daniel glanced at Lauren, whose condition had worsened.

"Are you sure, Lauren? I'll take you to any clinic or hospital," Daniel said, pulling up to her residence, a lovely home alone between the small town and the refugee camp.

"Ya, I'm okay. See you, I promise," Lauren said, staring into Daniel's eyes.

"Alright, I just don't want the stone to be called dense, Daniel, so if you need something, let me know," he said reassuringly.

Lauren exited the vehicle, walked up to the door, and waved one more time to Daniel, who waved back and drove off after seeing the door to her house open.

However, Lauren didn't go all the way in. She quickly ripped her shirt off to examine her stomach. It had grown

She felt something moving inside of her, causing her to panic

She quickly ran over to the creek behind her house that led to the toxic ocean of Octavius

There she fell to the ground

Trying to hold her pain from escaping her lips

"WAHH" "Wah," a blonde baby boy screamed out

Lauren panicked, looking at the boy. Ultimately, she decided to wrap the boy in her ripped shirt and send him down the creek.

Lauren went inside her home to wash, gasping for air, still unable to believe what had happened.

"Oh my god, WHO SAID SHE WAS A GOOD-"

"WHAT THE FUCK"

The souls, angry and pissed off, argued with each other

"THAT BOY COSTS ME 100 years. He's GOING TO BE GREAT," one soul yelled

"Someone kill that bitch now," another soul yelled

"The hell did you expect her to become a teen mother?" Miamor said, watching the arguing among the souls

"One, she is twenty-two. We didn't think she would be a murderer," a soul replied

"Dont worry, I can save the boy, but we will have to raise him the best we can ourselves," Miamor said before Valnear reached out to her

"It's already pretty costly to help make the boy more interfering in the mortal realm will only shorten your life more," Valnear quickly protested

"Aw, stop it. We will all die without him, so what is the point? Besides, you, of all people, should know what abandonment feels like. Let's make her pay at least," Miamor said, casting a spell from the soul world down to the human world

"The only poison spell I'll ever bother learning," she said as a magic ruin appeared outside Laurens's bathtub. Lauren washed herself

On top of the magic rune, a small snake appeared. It slithered up the bath to the unsuspecting Lauren

The next day, Laurens's mother found her unconscious daughter in the bath

Daniel raced inside the hospital to find his friends in the waiting room

"Daniel, wait," Liz called out. It was clear to Daniel that she had been crying

"What-what happened? " Daniel panicked as a rush of emotions flooded his brain

But before Liz could respond, the sheriff and an officer were waiting for him and approached him

"Mr.Dainel, you are currently under arrest for the suspicion of murder-" the sheriff spoke as Daniel's heart dropped

"What? I didn't do anything," Daniel said, stepping back. However, the sheriff grabbed him quickly, cuffing him before escorting him to the police station, but he was released soon after, before once again returning to the hospital.

"I'm sorry that happened to you, Daniel. We told them you would never do something," Liz said to Daniel as the group watched Lauren lie inside a medical pod.

"Who would even do this to her? She's the sweetest soul." Liz broke down in tears before her friends comforted her.

"I don't understand that she possibly had a baby? " Daniel asked the group

"They said they found DNA of someone in her, and it matched 50% of her and 300 other people, even women. This was some spell," Brock said, tightening his fist

"And there's some poison inside her. They had never seen anything like it, at least not in the holy Empire's records," Fred added

I'm not worried about the poison. Not only will I help in finding a cure, I know the Empire has a ton of scientists that will help," Daniel said in a reassuring nod at Laurens's mother, who had been quietly grieving in a chair near her daughter

"You will help? Not all scientists are willing to help for free. I know it will cost a lot, so I'll sell the soup kitchen to help buy-" Daniel quickly cut her off

"No need. I have plenty of money and various ways to earn it. If you need anything, you let us know," Daniel said, looking at his friends, who nodded in agreement

After a couple of hours, Daniel left Lauren's mom, who was the only one left

He drove to his laboratory and quickly did an inventory check. His lab was small but advanced, and numerous wealthy individuals sponsored him. It's familiar for the wealthy to sponsor people like him the moment they leave college.

He looked at the diploma earned from Hitachi, the hardest college to get into. You have to take a college exam at 14 and pass, and then you immediately start college at Hitachi.

Daniel laughed, thinking about the hard work he's done.

"Is this your final laugh at me? I could never solve how to get rid of magic users, so now this is how you get back at me," Daniel yelled, smacking his desk.

"Did someone break in and see what I was doing?" Daniel thought out loud, but no alarm had been triggered. Daniel quickly pulled up the poison double, double-checking for any other records.

'Nothing'

Daniel watched as his computer simulated the poison in the body

'It's disappearing and reappearing,' Daniel thought as he watched

Elsewhere, a baby was high in the sky, picked up by a bird flying over the toxic ocean before gliding down to a small island. The island barely had any grass on it when the bird landed, and as it took off, the sand turned to grass, and a tree rose from the ground. Suddenly, a rabbit bounced from around the tree. Before jumping around, the baby crying before digging a hole where water appeared

A fruit fell on the rabbit's head, causing the young baby to laugh before the rabbit rolled the fruit to the baby.
