Morning broke softly over the Underworld estate. The sky glowed faintly purple, the kind of calm that made the world feel suspended—like even time wasn't sure if it should keep moving.

Kaelthar stood in the middle of the courtyard, dressed in simple clothes, nothing that hinted at the power he carried. Today wasn't for battle. Today was for farewells.

Rias' parents were the first to greet him.

Lord Gremory walked toward him with his usual dignified calm, though he raised an eyebrow at Kaelthar's expression. "You're leaving for something important, aren't you?"

Lady Gremory approached beside her husband, worry flickering behind her gentle smile. "We don't know what this mission is, Kaelthar, but… please take care of yourself."

They didn't know the truth. They didn't need to.

Kaelthar bowed slightly. "I'll return sooner than you think."

Lord Gremory chuckled softly. "For some reason, I do believe you." He paused. "Rias speaks of you often. Whatever you're doing… know that you're part of the family now."

Kaelthar blinked once—acknowledgment, gratitude. There was no need for words.

After a final nod, the Gremory couple stepped aside.

The girls were waiting.

Rias was first, her long red hair fluttering in the breeze as she walked toward him. She tried to appear composed, but her eyes betrayed her. She stopped inches from him.

"So… this is really it?"

"For now," Kaelthar said. "I'll be back."

"You better." Rias stepped forward and hugged him tightly—no hesitation, no restraint. "Or I'm dragging you back myself."

He rested a hand on her back briefly, letting her feel the warmth she so desperately needed, before letting go.

Akeno approached next. Unlike Rias, she didn't rush.

She walked toward him slowly, quietly, until she stood close enough for her scent to mix with the morning air. "You really know how to make a girl feel abandoned."

Kaelthar raised a brow. "I'm only leaving for a short time."

She smiled faintly. "Then you better come home to us quickly… or I might start misbehaving."

She leaned up and kissed his cheek—not teasing, not playful, but soft and sincere.

Next came Koneko. She stood there, small and silent, tail lightly swishing. She stared at him up and down as if trying to memorize every detail.

"Don't… take too long," she murmured.

Kaelthar gently placed a hand on her head. "I won't."

Koneko leaned into the touch, eyes closed for a heartbeat before stepping back with her usual stoic expression—though the redness of her ears betrayed her.

Yasaka arrived last, with Kunou peeking from behind her kimono.

The moment Yasaka reached Kaelthar, her expression softened. "You look calmer than I expected."

"I am. You've given me reasons to return."

Her smile warmed. "Good. Then return to me… preferably before I start losing sleep."

Kunou tugged on Kaelthar's sleeve. "Oji-san, you better come back! Who else will eat my cooking when Mama refuses spicy food?"

Kaelthar almost chuckled. "I'll be back before you forget me."

Kunou puffed her cheeks. "Hmph! Like I could forget someone who eats like a dragon!"

Yasaka's hand rested gently on Kunou's head. "Come home safe, Kaelthar-sama."

"I will."

He stepped back. The moment had come.

Kaelthar lifted a hand. Reality around him rippled like disturbed water. The air darkened, and the sky trembled—not violently, but as though bowing in recognition of the one about to depart.

Before leaving, he reached out telepathically—one by one.

To Rias

"Do not fear the horizon. I will walk back to you through any storm."

She froze where she stood, breath catching, tears slowly falling.

To Akeno

"Do not bury your worries behind a smile. I see you. I'll return before the loneliness can touch you."

Akeno bit her lip, looking away as her shoulders trembled.

To Koneko

"Stay strong. Train hard. I want to see how far you climb when I return."

Koneko's eyes widened before she whispered, "Senpai…"

To Yasaka

Her breath hitched when she heard him.

"You've given me warmth I didn't realize I missed. Keep the shrine bright for me."

Her amber eyes softened, glowing with quiet emotion.

To Kunou

Kunou froze mid-step.

"If I come back and you're taller than me, I'll be very disappointed."

Kunou stomped her foot. "I-I won't grow that fast!"

But she was smiling, tears forming.

The last goodbye spoken, Kaelthar raised his hand.

A black-gold rift split open, swirling with ancient symbols, old as the first existence. Power spilled from it—boundless, overwhelming, not meant for this universe.

The girls shielded their eyes.

Kaelthar stepped forward, the wind swirling around him like it knew him, like it mourned.

Just before he vanished, he felt it.

A whisper across the Omniversal sea.A vibration from a far realm beyond creation.A presence that should have been dead.

A memory resurfaced.

A throne made of broken stars. An army made of shadows.A symbol carved into the bones of creation itself.

And a voice.

"When you return, Kaelthar… all that exists will burn."

His old enemy. The one who hunted his siblings. The one who shattered universes for sport.

Still alive.

Still waiting.

Still gathering an army in the darkness between realities.

Kaelthar didn't look back. His eyes narrowed slightly, almost amused.

"So," he murmured, stepping into the rift."You survived."

Behind him, the rift closed.

And Kaelthar vanished——while in the distant void beyond all creation…an ancient army awakened, waiting for the day it would erase all existence.
