Days had passed since the intense training. In that time, the bonds between Kaelthar and the girls had only grown deeper. Each had found not only strength in their training but comfort, warmth, and something even more intimate in Kaelthar's presence. The once-distant relationships had evolved into something far more emotional—something none of them wanted to admit aloud yet all felt in their hearts.
Today, they stood upon one of the most breathtaking places in Kaelthar's inner dimension—a floating landmass suspended above a glittering sea of stars, with crystal trees glowing gently in the breeze and vibrant skies shifting with the hues of dawn and twilight. Waterfalls flowed upward, suspended in defiance of natural laws, and glowing birds flitted through the air. It was a realm of beauty created by a being who defied logic, a paradise only Kaelthar could conjure.
Rias stood near the edge of the floating cliff, her crimson hair fluttering in the wind, her arms crossed as she stared into the horizon. Her thoughts were heavy, though her heart remained full.
"I need to return," she said softly.
Kaelthar, standing a few paces behind her with Kunou resting against his side, simply nodded. He already knew what was coming. Rias hadn't hidden it from him. Her duty to Kuoh, to her position as a Gremory, and her sense of responsibility toward her peerage weighed heavily on her.
"It's not that I want to leave," she continued, turning around, her gaze gentle. "But I can't leave everything to Sona. She has her own responsibilities. Kuoh needs me. My family… needs me."
Kunou, who had been playfully nibbling on a fruit Kaelthar had conjured, suddenly perked up and looked toward Rias. Her golden eyes shimmered with sadness.
"You're leaving…?" she asked in a small voice, ears drooping and tails going still.
Rias's expression softened immediately, and she walked forward, kneeling before the fox girl. "Only for a while, sweetie," she said, patting Kunou's head. "But I promise, you can visit me anytime. I'd love that."
"Really?!" Kunou beamed as her ears twitched and her tails began to wag once again. "Then I'll visit all the time!"
Koneko, sitting nearby and munching on a snack, offered a quiet nod of agreement. "I'll go too."
Kaelthar chuckled softly, the gentle breeze carrying the warmth of the moment. He walked toward Rias and, without a word, pressed a kiss to her forehead. She closed her eyes, accepting it with a smile.
Then, Akeno approached, her expression tender as her gaze locked with Kaelthar's. "Don't I get one too?" she asked teasingly, tilting her head slightly.
Kaelthar grinned and leaned forward, planting a kiss on her head as well. Just as he pulled back, he noticed Yasaka standing to the side, watching with an amused yet expectant look.
The golden-haired kitsune didn't say anything. She merely tilted her head ever so slightly, her golden eyes gleaming with mischief and warmth.
Kaelthar laughed softly. "Of course," he said, stepping toward her and placing a kiss upon her forehead too.
The sight made Kunou giggle. "Everyone's getting head kisses!"
Koneko blinked, her stoic expression faltering. She looked away, but her body shifted closer. Kaelthar took the cue and walked over, gently kissing her forehead too. The white-haired girl froze for a moment, then gave a rare, almost imperceptible smile.
"And me!" Kunou bounced over, arms up. Kaelthar laughed again and knelt to kiss her head as well, earning a joyful squeal from the fox girl.
But just as the mood settled, a faint golden shimmer appeared across Rias's lower belly. She gasped and looked down. "What is this?"
Akeno blinked as she too noticed a similar glow appear between her chest. Yasaka looked down and saw a small glowing dragon tattoo forming on her lower belly—beautiful, ethereal, and warm to the touch.
"What's happening?" Akeno asked, her hand gently brushing over the symbol.
Kaelthar smiled calmly, raising his hand and letting the glowing runes fade from his fingers. "They're keys."
"Keys?" Rias tilted her head, still tracing the glowing sigil.
"To this realm," he explained. "You can now enter and leave my personal dimension freely. You don't have to rely on me to bring you here anymore."
Rias's eyes shimmered with emotion. She reached out and took his hand in hers. "Thank you."
Akeno moved forward and pressed a soft kiss to his lips. "Then we'll always have a place to return to."
Yasaka simply leaned her head against Kaelthar's shoulder, closing her eyes and whispering, "You truly are kind… in your own strange way."
Soon, it was time. The magic circle shimmered beneath their feet—an elegant blend of Gremory and Himejima symbols. The light from the spell illuminated their faces, filled with silent farewells and unspoken promises.
Rias gave Kunou one last pat on the head. "Be good, okay? And don't forget to visit."
Kunou nodded eagerly, her tails wagging so fast they blurred.
Koneko approached Kaelthar and kissed his cheek softly, whispering, "Take care of Kunou."
He nodded. "I will."
Before the light of the teleportation engulfed them, Rias turned toward Kaelthar once more. "Come visit us soon. In Kuoh… and in the Underworld. I want you to meet my family."
Kaelthar smiled faintly. "I'll be there."
With a final flash of light, the three girls vanished, leaving behind only a soft shimmer in the air.
Kunou stood quietly for a moment, her hands clutched at her chest. "I'm gonna miss them…"
Kaelthar reached down and lifted her into his arms. "They'll be back soon. And in the meantime, you still have Koneko—and me."
Kunou smiled and nuzzled against his chest. "Yeah… I'm glad."
Above them, the sky shimmered, and the floating realm slowly began to shift again, changing its scenery to reflect the mood of its creator—soft pastel skies, gentle winds, and drifting petals of flowers unknown to any world. It was a reflection of peace, of warmth, and of bonds not even time or distance could break.
Kaelthar stared out into the horizon, where a distant sun hovered between the veil of dream and reality. He knew their paths were far from over. The time would come when he would step into Kuoh, meet the devils of old, and bring his presence to the Underworld—not as a visitor, but as something far greater.
For now… he would wait. But not for long.
