Chapter 3 - Chapter 3: Body

I closed my eyes and whispered the word, 'Switch.'

A moment later, I felt my consciousness tug free from one vessel and settle into another When I opened my eyes again, a dull ache pulsed through my limbs, like my muscles were waking up from a long sleep I slowly looked around the room, The first thing I saw was me, my original body, sitting cross-legged on the cold floor, back resting against the wall, eyes shut as if it were just another empty shell.

I stared for a moment, studying him, this frail thing that gonna be my whole existence, My original body looked so thin, almost sickly compared to the one I was Feeling now I could see the sharpness of the collarbones poking through the worn shirt, the fragile wrists resting limply on the knees, so different from the sturdy, powerful feeling of this new body that held me now.

I rolled my shoulders, testing the weight and strength of my arms, They felt solid, heavy with muscle I hadn't grown myself, A strange warmth pulsed through my chest, not quite pride, but something close to satisfaction, So this is what it's like to feel strong, So calm, So stable.

I glanced down at the clothes I'd thrown on earlier, They clung awkwardly to this larger frame, too tight around the chest and shoulders, I tugged at the seams, but it was hopeless, A bitter chuckle slipped past my lips.

"These clothes are so small," I muttered to myself, pulling at the hem of the shirt that barely reached my waist, I'll have to find something that actually fits soon.

But that thought drifted away as a stronger sensation rose inside me, the pull of my other self, the one I'd left behind just seconds ago, I could feel my original body, like a second heartbeat echoing through my skull.

Curious, I closed my eyes again, letting my mind stretch out, searching for that dormant thread, When I opened my eyes this time, I opened both pairs, this body's eyes and the original's at the same time.

My old eyes fluttered open, staring straight ahead in the half-darkness, I blinked once, then twice, testing the link, My brain split its signals easily, like a conductor guiding two hands of the same symphony, I lifted one hand in this new body, watched the old one mirror me with the slightest delay, I smiled,

"I can move both," I murmured to myself, my voice echoing through both mouths at once, layered and strange. "I can move both with my brain, At the same time Perfect."

A sudden voice broke the giddy rush of the moment.

"Can you stop your damn yapping and tell me your name already?" The original body's voice grated out, Hearing it from that thin throat made it sound even more pitiful.

I turned my new head to face him, to face me A wicked grin spread across my lips as I tilted my head, enjoying the weight of this new neck, the strength behind my eyes.

The old body glared back at me, or maybe it was just my reflection glaring at myself. Either way, it didn't matter.

Minsoo sat comfortably in his chair, taking a slow sip of his coffee, as he gazed out the window. The city was already bustling with life, cars zooming by, people walking hurriedly to their destinations.

"So, how are you feeling in that body of yours, Hana?" Minsoo asked, his voice calm and distant as he stood by the window, eyes fixed on the gray skyline.

Behind him, Hana leaned her shoulder against the doorframe that led out to the narrow balcony, A faint breeze caught the loose strands of her dark hair, tugging them across her cheek. She didn't answer right away, instead, she flexed her fingers, rolling her shoulders as if she was still getting used to the new weight and shape she carried now.

"I've already adapted to this body," she said finally, her voice steady. "It felt very light at first, almost too light, but there's more athleticism in these muscles than my previous one ever had, More strength too, Everything feels sharper, faster, I could run for hours without feeling it in my bones."

Minsoo let out a quiet, humorless chuckle, though his eyes never left the window.

"It's a god-given body, Hana," he said flatly "Of course it's going to be better than your old one, You're beautiful now, strong, quick, and more… curved than most women I've seen in my life, A perfect design, if you ask me."

Hana's eyes narrowed slightly, She pushed herself off the doorframe, folding her arms across her chest as she regarded him with a flat stare, The corner of her lip twitched.

"Pervert," she spat, her voice low.

Minsoo turned his head slightly, just enough for her to catch the Sideline of his profile, His eyes were empty, like dark stones sunk into a mask that didn't know how to move anymore.

"I'm not interested in something like that, Hana, It has already Cost me what I had left " he replied, his tone utterly devoid of desire and Some emotions.

A tsk slipped past her lips as she clicked her tongue against her teeth, She pushed off the doorframe completely.

Minsoo stayed still, eyes locked on the Window.
