Chapter 5 - Chapter 5: Rescue Ace – Krillin Grabs the Mission!

"Huh? A new mission already?"

Jack raised an eyebrow, surprised by the sudden notification. He had assumed the Cosmic Thugs Group was still too new to be receiving missions so soon. After all, they had just formed — wasn't it too early?

But then again, this was the Heavens and the Myriad Realms.

Countless worlds. Countless crises. Of course, someone out there was already in trouble.

"Accept."

As Jack took on the mission, a projection lit up in front of his eyes, showing a vivid, chaotic scene.

The battlefield was engulfed in smoke and fire, the sound of cannon blasts thundering through the air. Soldiers on both sides clashed fiercely in a devastating war. Amidst the carnage, two figures stood out.

One of them was a man in a marine uniform with the word "Justice" emblazoned on his coat. His right arm transformed into magma as he raised his fist, preparing to strike a young man in a straw hat who knelt before him, defenseless.

In that critical moment, a fiery figure appeared — a young man wreathed in flames who threw himself in front of the attack to protect the straw-hatted youth.

Boom!

The magma fist landed squarely on his chest.

The fiery young man — Ace — coughed out blood, his body collapsing into the arms of his younger brother.

"Ace!!" the straw hat boy screamed, catching him just in time.

The battlefield momentarily froze. The other pirates and marines looked on in shock. They had all seen what just happened.

The terrible silence broke with a chorus of anguished cries.

"ACE!!!"

Jack recognized the moment instantly.

"So… it's this world," he muttered.

He knew the scene — it was one of the most tragic turning points in the One Piece world.

The infamous Marineford War.

Portgas D. Ace, captain of the 2nd Division of the Whitebeard Pirates, had just been fatally struck by Akainu, the Marine Admiral with the power of the Magma-Magma Fruit.

Ace had taken the hit to save Monkey D. Luffy, his younger brother.

Now, chaos was about to erupt.

---

As Ace collapsed, the Whitebeard Pirates surged forward, desperate to reach him.

Their attacks were powerful and frenzied — a retaliation driven by rage and desperation.

But their opponents had the overwhelming might of the Navy and the Admirals.

No matter how fierce their gunfire or swordsmanship, they were useless against Akainu's magma body. His form was blown apart by explosions — only to regenerate moments later with ease.

Through the fire and ash, Akainu emerged once again, walking straight toward the fallen Ace.

He wanted to strike again.

Elsewhere, Whitebeard tried to charge forward to defend his son, but was intercepted by Kizaru, the Admiral of Light.

Just as Akainu's second punch was about to fall on Ace, another figure leaped in front of him.

Jinbe, one of the original Seven Warlords of the Sea, blocked the punch with all his might. He grabbed both Luffy and Ace and pulled them away, using what little time he had bought to retreat.

But Ace's injuries were critical.

Blood poured from the wound, and his body began to cool.

Luffy held him tightly, panic flooding his eyes. "Ace..." he choked, one hand trying desperately to stop the bleeding.

He didn't know what to do. He couldn't stop the magma burn. He couldn't heal the wound. He was helpless — watching his brother die in his arms.

---

That's when a voice echoed in his ear — calm and strangely comforting.

> "Luffy, do you need help solving this crisis?"

Luffy's eyes widened. He didn't know where the voice came from. He didn't care.

Ace was dying.

If there was even the slightest chance to save him — he would take it.

"Yes! YES! Please, someone save Ace!" Luffy shouted.

His cry startled those nearby. The others couldn't understand who he was shouting to. But it didn't matter.

---

Ding!

> "Negotiation with employer complete. Task has been generated."

"Mission: Go to the Pirate World and rescue Ace!"

The objective was clear — save Ace from death.

In this world, healing such a devastating injury was nearly impossible.

But in Dragon Ball World, there were many miraculous tools that could heal even the gravest wounds — even death wasn't the end there.

Compared to that, healing Ace's condition was entirely achievable.

---

Jack immediately contacted the group.

@Beerus @Goku

"Stop your fight for now — a new mission has arrived."

He added, "Of course, if you're not interested, feel free to continue. I won't force you."

---

On Earth, Goku and Beerus were locked in a fierce sparring match, shaking the skies with each exchange.

When Jack's message came through, both immediately halted their attacks.

Fighting could wait — but missions were rare and important.

Gohan, Bulma, Piccolo, and the others watching the fight from afar were completely confused. Goku and Beerus suddenly froze mid-air, saying nothing. The silence was eerie.

Even Krillin, Vegeta, and Trunks looked puzzled.

"Did... did something happen?" Piccolo asked.

Goku smiled. "New mission just dropped!"

Beerus nodded. "Let's pause this fight for now."

---

Back in the group chat, King Quan chimed in.

"Jack, are you going to assign the mission to someone? Or should we all fight for it?"

Jack replied, "To keep things fair, I'll post the mission to the group. First one to grab it gets it."

Krillin gulped. "Wait a minute. I'm supposed to fight Beerus and Goku for a mission? There's no way I'm fast enough!"

Jack reminded him, "As I said before, strength has nothing to do with grabbing missions. It all comes down to luck and how serious you are."

"Even the weakest can grab a mission — if fate allows."

That gave Krillin a little hope. He clenched his fists. "Okay… I'm in!"

Jack smiled and sent the mission to the group.

---

The moment it appeared, dozens of members tried to snatch it at once.

Goku, Beerus, Vegeta, Piccolo, Whis, even Jiren — everyone wanted this one.

The screen flickered.

Ding!

> "Congratulations! Group member Krillin has claimed the mission!"

---

There was silence.

Even Krillin was stunned. He stared at the screen, blinking in disbelief.

"I… I got it?"

Beerus raised an eyebrow. "No way…"

Vegeta looked around. "How did he beat all of us to it?!"

Goku grinned. "Haha! Way to go, Krillin!"

Krillin's heart pounded in his chest. He had always been the underdog — weaker than most of the top-tier fighters. But now, he had a mission that would take him to another world — and a chance to save a life.

---

Back in the One Piece world, time was running out for Ace.

Luffy held his brother tightly, tears streaming down his cheeks.

Suddenly, a glowing portal appeared above them.

Krillin stepped through, clutching a Senzu Bean in one hand and a healing capsule in the other.

"Luffy! I'm here to help!"
