*Yawn*
Kai made a long tired yawn as he sat up on the comfortable bed and stretched his arms wide apart.
He looked around the still unfamiliar room and tried to open his status screen. The strange blue screen appeared in front of him like magic, which it technically was.
"So it all wasn't a dream huh." He sighed once again and looked over to a strange clock on the table, which was likely powered by magic of some sort judging from its strange design, but besides that the time was 4:17pm.
"Wait didn't Garen say that each room was supposed to occupy two students." He said as he got out of bed and went to sit at the desk in the room, he found an activity schedule stating the different classes and such they would have for the next few weeks and a strange wristband.
"I think I saw other people on the streets wearing wristbands like this but I didn't really noticed until now."
Kai picked up the wristband and put it on, a robotic voice rang from the wristband. "Beginning verification process." Then he felt a sharp pain in his wrist as the band collected some of his blood as he winced in pain. "Verification process complete." The robotic voice spoke again. "Welcome Kai Harrison, please view the manual pertaining to your ID Band's use."
Kai sat down onto the chair and opened the manual after a bit of fiddling around with the band, a set of text appeared on the screen showing him multiple instructions which the robotic voice began to read out loud.
"The ID Band contains important information like your name, dorm number, rank and so on, the ID Band can also be used to receive points which are a form of currency, points can be earned through completing tasks from the task hall. All students will receive 20 points per day starting from today. Good luck on your journey as an Awakened." The robotic voice ended as the band changed to the home screen with his name, picture and others.
Kai scrolled downwards and checked the amount of points he had, as expected he had 20 points to his name.
"Guess I'll go get something to eat in the meantime." Kai was about to open the door and leave but stopped halfway. "After I take a shower."
He turned around and went into the bathroom. The bathroom walls were lined with white tiles while the floor used light blue tiles instead. The bathroom had a toilet, shower, a sink with a clear mirror above it, a rack with a white towel hanging on it and a cabinet.
He took off his clothes and walked into the shower, he was about to turn on the water but paused as he looked down at his ID Band. He tried to take it off but it felt like it was stuck to his skin like glue. "It has to be waterproof, right?" He asked himself.
"Well here goes nothing." He turned on the hot water in the shower. As the water poured on his body he tapped the ID Band and thankfully it turned on without any problems.
He sighed in relief and began to enjoy the shower in earnest.
He soon finished and dried himself off, he put on a pair of jeans and a black T-shirt. After he was done he left his room and made his way out of the dorm building.
The streets outside has become a lot less crowded now which made it easier for him to get to where he needed to go. That is if he knew where he was going. He needed to get something to eat but had no idea where to go and so he was just walking on the streets praying he wouldn't get lost.
'Maybe I should have asked Garen for directions.' As he began to lose hope he remembered something. He turned on his ID Band and checked each of the tabs until thankfully he found a tab called 'Map'. He opened it up as the screen projected a map of the surroundings from above.
"So it should be this way" He went on walking for a few minutes and arrived at a humble diner. He walked in through the front door and went to sit at one of the tables in the corner as he took a look at the menu.
"Good evening sir, what can I get for you?" A charming waitress asked with a warm smile.
He put down the menu and replied. "I'll have two burgers and a cold drink." "Please wait a few minutes for you order to be ready." She said. Kai nodded his head as she left to deliver his order.
Kai stared out of the glass window of the diner as his mind trailed off once again into deep thought.
Unfortunately his thoughts were interrupted by a loud shout from outside the diner. "What did you say you bastard!" The door of the diner swung open as a handsome guy scrambled in while being chased by three buff guys.
The four of them got to Kai's table as the handsome guy had his back against the wall as one of the buff guys held him by the collar and said. "I dare you to say that again, bitch." He raised both hands into the air and said "Are you deaf or just too stupid to understand basic english, well don't blame me for being a retard, blame your dad for buying an expired condom." Kai nearly spat his drink out when he heard those words.
"Since you like to talk so much how about I knock all your teeth out." The guy lifted his fist to punch him in the face when a hand held his shoulder. "I think it'd be nice if you fucked off to somewhere else." The four of them turned to see who had just spoken.
"Do you have a death wish!" The buff guy yelled as he yanked his shoulder free from Kai's grasp. "It seems like you really are deaf cuz I just told you to fuck off and yet you're still hear stinking up the place." Kai answered harshly. "Don't worry Carlos we'll deal with him." The other two guys stepped forward while cracking their knuckles to face Kai.
The air was full of energy as it seemed like a fight was inevitable. "If you guys didn't come here to order a meal then I think you should leave right now." The waitress from before said firmly from behind them.
Carlos turned around and looked at her with mockery in his eyes and said. "What are you gonna do if we don't." She raised her ID Band and pointed it at her rank which read 'Second rank' and replied. "Don't make me say that again." She threatened with a murderous glint in her eyes.
The three guys went pale instantly and quickly rushed towards the door of the diner not before glaring at Kai and the handsome guy menacingly.
"Whoo, that was a close one, huh thanks for the help man." He said to Kai
"You still haven't learned to watch your tongue." Kai answered calmly.
The handsome guy took a closer look at his face and said. "Kai!"
"Long time no see, Tyler."
