Chapter 15 - Chapter-15. (The Guest Room).

Knock. Knock.

God, are they here already? But it's been just barely a minute.

Again, the knock echoed in the whole apartment. Not having another way, I walked towards the door. Peeping through the peephole, I sighed in relief.

Opening the door, I welcomed Linda. Though to others, she seemed like any other person, but now. Right at this moment, she was an angel. Sent by God, she came like a savior to help me.

I almost cried seeing her. I threw my hands towards her as I took her into a hug.

"Oh god, Linda. You finally came." I cried out as I wiped out the non-existent tears from my eyes. Linda's facial expression kept changing.

First surprised, then shocked, and finally, it rested in confusion. "What happened Ele? And when did you come?" Pulling back from her, she took some deep breaths placing hand on her chest.

Linda was a middle-aged woman who worked as a maid for Dave. She has been working here for years. Even before he made his film debut.

Listing out his good work and personality, there were only a handful of people who he let inside of his personal space.

At first, when I met her, she looked like any other servant, but when I saw Dave talking to her with utter respect, she seemed different.

I wanted to know, but Linda didn't open her mouth, and at that time, Dave was completely ignoring me.

So, I let it go. She brushed her long skirt as she asked, "Well, now you are here, then Dave must have come right?"

I opened my mouth to say, but nothing came out. The last time we meet was the day before Dave's birthday.

Linda was the one who encouraged me to go and surprise him, but unfortunately, I was the surprised, or should I say shocked.

Did she not know about Dave's accident? As the question arose in my mind, Josh's words started to ring in my mind about how this accident thing has been kept a secret.

I took a deep breath, still deciding whether I should tell her or not about Dave's health.

She then walked across the hall as she examined the whole house. After examining every room, she shook her head in disappointment, as she commented, "This place needs some cleaning."

Then my eyes landed on my phone, recalling the call I just had with Grandpa Albert. Freaking Jesus, they will hear any second, and Linda will eventually get to know.

So, for now, I should also focus on cleaning the house.

"Yes, Linda. He will be coming in half an hour." I walked up to her, sharing this piece of information. Her eyes bulged out as she confirmed, "Just Thirty Minutes?"

I nodded in agreement that she all needed to become a superhuman. She almost ran towards the cleaning room where all the cleaning supplies were kept.

"Wait for me." I also followed her back. She grabbed the duster, mop, cleaning spray, and other things and sprinted towards his room.

"Let's start with Dave's room." She stated, to which I agreed without any hesitation. As she dusted all the things, I brought new sheets to change into.

It took ten to fifteen minutes to deep-clean everything. Then, before she could choose any other room, I signaled towards the guest room, "Now, let's clean this up."

Linda stopped in her tracks, as her eyebrows furrowed, "Isn't this the guest room?"

I did not reply to her question. She turned to face me as she raised her eyebrows, "Is someone coming?" Neither was there time to explain, nor did I want to explain it to her. So, I nodded.

She sighed, trying to calm herself down. She walked towards the room as she annunced, "Okay, then come help me."

I sighed in relief and called back, "Coming." I ran into the room.

I almost the track of time as we cleaned the guest room following the kitchen. Fortunately, Linda ordered veggies and other things to cook, for which I was very thankful to her.

My phone buzzed, and as I grabbed it, the screen showed Grandpa. Answering the call, I asked, "Where have you reached, Grandpa?"

His voice came from the other side, "Yes, we have reached here and are entering the lift."

"Ok, ok." I ended the call as I looked around to see if everything was in place. Linda has also started to cook some light dishes with protein-rich soup.

Dave thought have had recovered, but his body would still need nutrients to recover completely.

Knock. Knock.

I turned towards the door as I realized. They are here.

I walked to the entrance, and as I was about to open the door, my hand stopped in the middle.

I took a deep breath, trying to calm myself down. No matter how the situation will go, I will not slip up.

Reminding all of the rules I pressed the handle and finally opened the door.

My gaze first fell on Grandpa, who also smiled back as he saw me. The moment he stepped aside, my breath hitched seeing him. He stood there in his T-shirt and casual pants. The bandage on his temple was still there.

I lowered my gaze not wanting to meet his gaze yet I could not ignore the weight of his stare. I knew he was looking at me, but I didn't want to...I can't.

"Please come in." I stepped back, making space for them to enter. As they sat on the couches, Linda brought in glasses of water.

While she offered it to them, I walked into the kitchen. The food was all ready, so I got all the dishes from the cabinets.

As I poured the dishes into the big bowls, a voice came from behind, "Elena." My hands froze in the air.

I knew who it was, but I did not want to turn, but wanted to run away when that voice again echoed in the kitchen, "Let's talk."
