Chapter 304 - Chapter 313: The Bastard Chief God

After all, with so many high-ranking Fallen Angels under his command, Azazel could have sent anyone—but he just had to send Akeno's father. It looked like this had been arranged from the start.

"This isn't the place to talk. Let's head back first."

Seeing the tension between the two men, it was Akeno who spoke first, making her stance clear. Hearing his daughter say so, Baraqiel nodded. As long as his daughter would forgive him, he wouldn't go against her wishes.

—Kuoh Academy, Occult Research Club.

"Hahaha, well, that's about it. I came to Japan for sightseeing," Odin said casually to Rias and her gathered servants.

In truth, Odin hadn't originally planned to come, but it seemed Azazel was worried a fight might break out, so he tagged along.

"Or maybe it's just that people hate you back in your own country, so they kicked you out?" Yoru remarked offhandedly.

Odin's laughter stopped immediately.

Had Yoru hit the mark? Seeing the old man's awkward expression, Yoru rubbed his chin, wondering.

He personally didn't have much of an opinion about this guy, but Rias and the other servants showed great respect—after all, the man was still a chief god.

"Please have some tea," Rias said with a smile, serving Odin.

"No need to fuss," Odin replied for once with a straight face, his eyes not wandering—he knew most of the girls here had some sort of connection to Yoru.

Ahh… how enviable. A harem, huh?

"Oh my, it's the first time I've seen Lord Odin act so proper! Hurry and tell me—are you an imposter?!"

Behind him, the Valkyrie gave Odin a hard knock on the head.

Rubbing his head, Odin half-closed his eyes. Clearly, he was used to this treatment, though it still annoyed him a little.

"Honestly, I'm the Norse chief god! Do you really think I'd do something so rude as to drool while staring at a beautiful girl's chest?" Odin said with a serious expression.

"Let me introduce you—this is my attendant, the Valkyrie…"

"Rossweisse, reporting in. While I'm in Japan, I'll be counting on your care. From now on, let's be friends," Rossweisse said shyly, sneaking glances at Yoru's face.

Such little gestures from the Valkyrie didn't escape Yoru's eyes. Ever since earlier, he'd been wondering why she kept looking at him.

After Odin's introduction, Rias greeted her—she had met Rossweisse before, but for the others, it was their first time. She gave off the impression of a young but slightly clumsy girl, though she was calm, capable, and professional. Strangely, her outfit looked like something bought from a bargain stall.

Perhaps as revenge for being smacked earlier, Odin suddenly put on a lecherous grin and revealed some "extra" information, making Rossweisse's face burn with embarrassment.

"That doesn't matter! I—it's just that no guy has ever liked me! Ughhh!"

She collapsed to the floor on the spot, banging her head repeatedly like a broken doll.

"Well, the Valkyrie business is tough. Even those blessed with beauty don't always find their springtime. With the number of heroes and warriors declining, and budget cuts in the Norse realm, the Valkyrie force has been shrinking. Before she became my attendant, she was just another worker buried in the office," Odin said, nodding solemnly.

No one really understood what he was going on about, but it sounded impressive.

At that point, Azazel spoke up.

"While the old man's in Japan, we'll need to act as his bodyguards. Baraqiel here is the Fallen Angels' representative. I'll be busy for a while and won't be able to stay here much. During that time, Baraqiel will be looking after you all."

"Pleased to meet you," Baraqiel said politely—one of the few times he spoke.

"Old man, aren't you in Japan a bit earlier than planned? From what I heard, the schedule was supposed to be later. The main purpose of your visit is to meet with the Japanese gods, right? With Michael and Sirzechs as intermediaries, I'll also be attending those talks," Azazel said after sipping his tea.

"More or less," Odin replied. "There's been some… trouble back home. Well, more like my methods have been criticized. I figured I'd act before anything happened, and there are some things I want to say to the Japanese gods in advance. We've been pretty isolated until now, with little communication."

Stroking his long white beard, the old man sighed.

"Since you say you're here for fun, let's not dwell on unpleasant matters. Old man, anywhere you'd like to go?" Azazel asked.

Odin's face suddenly twisted into a lecherous grin, his fingers wiggling suggestively.

"I want to go to a club!"

"Haha, you've got a sharp eye, chief god! Alright then, let's go! Some young ladies I know run a VIP spot in this town—I'll take you there."

"Hohohohoho! As expected of you, Azazel, you really get it!"

"Come on, you lecherous old coot! Let's go, Wano Country! Ever played the Evil Magistrate Game? You've got to try it! I'll teach you the true Yamato spirit!"

"I can't take this anymore! Absolutely can't take this anymore!"

The two fools charged out of the room, leaving Yoru, Rias, and the others staring after them with dark expressions.

Can those two perverts really be leaders? Ahh… Rias put a hand to her forehead, frowning.

"Lord Odin, I want to go too!" Rossweisse cried, chasing after them.

"Stay here. With Azazel around, there's no problem. Just wait at home."

"No! I have to go!"

"If you come along, I'll fire you. Been looking for the chance, too—if I can fire you, I'll get someone more obedient."

Hearing her own chief god say that, the Valkyrie collapsed to the floor again, her face filled with frustration and helplessness. The rest of the room could only shake their heads and sigh—none of them knew what they could possibly say in this situation.
