"That sounds like a pretty big deal… Isn't this guy already at the Demon King level? For someone that powerful to show up so brazenly in the human world—aren't the three factions under an alliance? Isn't this a clear violation of that?"
As Yoru said this, Xenovia, Rias, and Sona all nodded.
"It's definitely a breach of the pact, but we don't have a way to deal with it right now. For now, we just need to figure out how to survive this crisis," Rias replied.
"The enemy's too strong. Irina didn't even have time to react and got taken out. Both holy swords were stolen," Xenovia added bitterly. Irina, covered in blood, was leaning weakly against Xenovia, clearly badly wounded.
"Anyway, we're talking about one of the Fallen Angels who survived the Great War—his name is even written in the Bible. You two are lucky to be alive; he must've spared you on purpose," Yoru said in a deep voice.
"What do we have here, just a bunch of low-tier devils?" Kokabiel said excitedly as he looked down at Rias and Sona. "Still, I managed to reel in two big fish. Guess that's good enough."
"I thought stealing Excalibur would be enough to provoke Michael into action… but all I got were a few throwaway exorcists and two Holy Sword users. How boring. This is so boring!"
Spreading his black wings wide, Kokabiel let loose his aura without restraint.
"Turns out messing around in Gremory territory was the right move. The sisters of two Demon Kings—if I kill both of you, a war will definitely break out, won't it?"
His expression turned ferocious as he looked at Rias and Sona below.
"You two go back. Have Asia heal Irina."
Xenovia nodded silently. In their current condition, they were useless here. Without her Holy Sword, Xenovia had no combat ability; staying would only be a liability.
Kokabiel, clearly disinterested in them, allowed them to leave unharmed.
"Well then, I can't wait to kill you two~! The sisters of two Demon Kings dying? That's bound to spiral into an uncontrollable incident. War is coming!"
"Warmonger…" Rias spat bitterly.
Kokabiel, however, laughed with delight.
"That's right, I am a warmonger! After the Great War ended, I was bored out of my mind! Azazel and Shemhazai were so passive, not even thinking about the next war. Instead, they started collecting pointless Sacred Gears and conducting strange research. Trash like that could never be our trump card!"
"No matter what, I'm going to start a Holy Sword battle right here in your stronghold, Rias Gremory. All to spark a war! The school attended by the sisters of Sirzechs and Leviathan must be saturated with magical energy. Perfect for unleashing the true power of the King's Sword! The perfect battlefield."
"What do you plan to do with the King's Sword?"
Rias asked, but Kokabiel flapped his five pairs of wings and flew toward the school.
"Ahahahaha! Try and stop me—if you don't, Kuoh Academy will soon be nothing but rubble."
"Damn it! Yoru, Sona—we have to go after him. We cannot let that bastard destroy our home."
Clearly insulted, Rias looked up in fury. Sona nodded slightly beside her.
Both girls were future heads of major families and sisters to Demon Kings. Naturally, they were proud and refused to just sit and be humiliated.
Even if Kokabiel's power was overwhelming, they wouldn't let him trample on them like this. As Demon King's sisters, Rias and Sona had to fight back with their own hands.
"Master, Rias-senpai—the school is already surrounded by a large-scale barrier. As long as nothing too extreme happens, the damage will be contained," reported Sona's Queen.
Now, the only ones guarding Kuoh Academy were the Occult Research Club and the Student Council. They had gathered in a nearby park, awaiting orders.
After Kokabiel appeared, Sona had summoned all her subordinates and deployed a large-scale barrier around the school—meant to prevent the chaos from leaking into the outside world.
After all, Kokabiel was a Fallen Angel cadre whose name was literally recorded in the Bible. Anything could happen.
"This is just damage control. Honestly, if Kokabiel unleashes his full strength, forget the school—even the whole city might be obliterated. And he's already started. My team spotted him at the school grounds, gradually releasing his power," Sona said worriedly.
After all, he was a being on the level of a Demon King. Being capable of such power wasn't surprising.
Yoru frowned slightly at her words.
To be honest, this was his first time facing an enemy of Demon King-level strength. Part of him was a bit excited.
Just how strong was he now? And how powerful were beings at that level? He really wanted to find out.
Since arriving in this world, Yoru hadn't encountered many people he considered true threats.
The Fallen Angel who once tried to kill him was pathetically weak. Even Riser Phoenix—the top seed in the underworld's Rating Game—had been a pushover.
Even Xenovia and Irina, considered elite among the younger generation, had been easy to deal with.
All these experiences left Yoru wondering:
Just how strong am I?
Had he simply been too cautious? Or had he just never met a real powerhouse?
Then again, beings like Sirzechs and Serafall Leviathan were definitely top-tier in this world.
But because they bore no hostility toward him, Yoru had never felt any pressure from them.
Not like what he once felt from Nashanasha or Byakko—the kind of overwhelming presence that made it hard even to breathe.
But… he didn't feel that from Kokabiel either. Was it because Kokabiel hadn't actually attacked yet…? Or was it something else entirely?
Yoru wanted an answer.
Maybe Kokabiel would be the one to give it to him.
