Chapter 251 - Chapter 250: The Adorable Holy Sword Wielder

"So fragile… she passed out just like that? If someone of her level is thinking of challenging the next generation of devils, she better wake up from her daydream and run back to the Church to hide behind her elders."

"As a Holy Sword wielder, Excalibur is as important as one's own life. Are you seriously asking why Genova fainted, you jerk?"

Hearing Yoru's lazy tone, Irina glared at him with tears in her eyes, filled with resentment.

"Hey hey hey, what are you staring at me like that for? It's not like I wanted to break her Excalibur. She was just too arrogant and clueless."

Yoru turned around, giving Irina a mocking grin.

"'There's nothing in this world my sword can't cut'... who was it that said that just now?"

Irina fell silent. She couldn't say a word to refute him. Yoru wasn't wrong—Genova's downfall was entirely her own doing.

"Alright, alright. Out with the old, in with the new. Didn't I give you a Holy Sword? Might as well use it," Yoru said, shrugging. He couldn't bear Irina's intense gaze anymore.

The Holy Sword he'd taken from Shigen Shirou had never been something he intended to keep. He'd already handed it over to the two girls.

"You think Holy Sword wielders are like cabbages, just anyone can pick one up? If that were the case, there wouldn't be any need for those Holy Sword adaptation programs. Each sword has its own requirements," Irina replied grumpily.

"Holy Swords have requirements? Funny, I didn't notice. I could use it easily—even as a devil," Yoru said with a smile, raising his shoulders.

"That's because… because—" Irina was at a loss for words. She knew full well how strict Holy Swords were with their users. That was the whole reason for those cruel experiments on Kiba.

And yet, just last night, they had all seen it: the sword in Yoru's hands, wielded freely by a devil, without the slightest hint of rejection.

"Alright then, let Miss Genova rest somewhere comfortable for now," Rias said as she walked over. Kiba, meanwhile, had recovered.

Looking at the unconscious Genova, there was no satisfaction in Kiba's eyes, no joy of revenge. In truth, he had no personal grudge against Genova and Irina. His hatred was only ever directed at the Holy Sword Excalibur.

Seeing Genova unconscious and broken after losing her sword, in a way, she was also a victim of the Holy Sword.

Soaked in the blood of innocents, that so-called Holy Sword had no right to exist!

"Oh, right. Should we have Asia heal her? It would be a devil's healing though. Not sure if you holy types might fall from grace or something," Yoru said jokingly.

Looking at Asia walking over, and then at Genova, Irina hesitated for a moment before nodding.

Genova slowly opened her eyes, still dazed. She instinctively reached to her side—only to grasp at nothing.

Right... her Holy Sword had already been destroyed…

How ridiculous… the once-proud Excalibur of Destruction, capable of annihilating anything, had ended up destroying itself.

"Ah, Genova, you're finally awake!" Irina's familiar voice rang beside her as she smiled and approached.

"Irina? Where are we?" Genova asked, confused as Irina came in carrying a tray of food.

"Oh, this is the Occult Research Club room," Irina replied as she sat down beside the bed.

"You've been unconscious for hours. You must be starving, right? Here, food."

"Hmph, what's the point of staying here? And this food—don't tell me it's from those devils?" Genova said irritably.

But as if on cue, her stomach growled loudly.

"Hungry, aren't you? You haven't eaten anything since last night. Must be unbearable by now," Irina said with a chuckle.

"And it's your fault! So dumb—getting swindled out of all our money over some painting! That's why we're stuck like this—no food and no place to stay!" Genova snapped back.

"Come on, don't bring that up again…"

Irina looked a bit embarrassed while Genova turned her head away, stubbornly refusing to eat.

"I'm not eating it! If I accept food from devils, I might fall from grace!" she declared, even though her stomach continued to grumble.

"You really are stubborn. So eating our food would make you fall? Then what about sleeping in our bed? Doesn't that count too?" Creak—the door swung open as Yoru walked in, raising an eyebrow.

"Hmph..." Genova scoffed as she rolled off the bed upon seeing the one who had shattered her Holy Sword.

The damage she had suffered wasn't physical—it was emotional. The trauma of losing the sword had caused her to faint. And since she'd already been treated by Asia, she was now perfectly fine… other than being hungry.

"Hey, you know the room you're in is part of the devils' territory too, right? In fact, the entire Kuoh Academy belongs to us," Yoru said, still smiling as he watched Genova get out of bed without a word.

"Hmph! Since when did Kuoh Academy become your territory? You devils are just shameless parasites hiding in a school!" she retorted, disdainfully.

"Yeah, sure. But you were just healed by Asia, you know. That's undeniably devil magic." Yoru grinned as he pulled Asia over.

"Ah…" Asia blinked, unsure what to say as she looked at Genova, who had frozen in place.

"This… this…" Genova stood there awkwardly, unable to respond.

"Oh Lord, please forgive your faithful servant. I've been saved by a devil…" she muttered, making the sign of the cross and praying on the spot.

"Here, eat up. You've already accepted devil healing, so eating some devil food won't make things worse. Our faith is strong—God will forgive us." Irina smiled and placed the tray in front of her.

"F-fine!" Genova's stomach growled again as she blushed furiously. She snatched the tray from Irina and crawled back into bed under the covers.

"See? Isn't she way cuter like this? Would've been nice if she'd been like this from the start."

Watching the now-docile and adorably embarrassed Genova, Yoru couldn't help but chuckle. Compared to her earlier stubborn, cold demeanor, this side of her was refreshing.

Sigh—to think a Holy Sword could warp a perfectly good girl's personality like that. What a troublesome weapon.
