Chapter 138 - "The Giant's Path"

The Creator of All... The Omniscient and Omnipotent God... Klein leaned back, maintaining an elevated posture, and repeated the key words from the words of the Silver City youth in his mind.

For "the Creator of All", he was not unfamiliar. The Creator in "The Book of Storms", "The Revelation of Night", and folklores had similar titles. The "True Creator" believed by the Aurora Society and other secretive organizations was also described in the same way.

But "the Omniscient and Omnipotent God", Klein had never heard of it in this world before. Neither the Goddess of Night nor the Storm Lord, nor the God of Steam and Machinery did they claim to be all-knowing and all-powerful.

If, if Silver City was truly in the "Land of God's Abandonment", and if the "Land of God's Abandonment" truly belonged to this world, the "Omniscient and Omnipotent God" might be the ancient beings' title for the Creator... Klein thought to himself, looking at the young man opposite him, at the color of his sad and painful emotions.

Derek felt the gaze of the fool and involuntarily lowered his head a little.

He recalled the content of the books and the legends told by his parents, and slowly and sorrowfully said:

"When the sun disappears from the sky, when the clouds are torn open with cracks, when lightning and thunder become the masters, the monsters hidden in the depths of the darkness suddenly appear. They are so terrifying, so unimaginable, causing the cities of the Silver Kingdom to be destroyed one after another... The 'Dark Age' of humanity has arrived."

"The remnants of the strong gathered in Silver City, relying on the power of unity and two magical items, finally resisted the attack of the 'Dark Thing', and gradually cleared the area within a day's journey of ordinary humans, establishing a city-state that protected the last flicker of human civilization's firelight."

The standard textbook-style statement... Klein couldn't help but comment in his heart.

The description of the other party always made him feel that the area where Silver City was located and the North Continent were not in the same world.

Perhaps this is the special feature of the Land of God's Abandonment? He thought without any emotional display.

Derek took a breath and continued:

"In the first few decades, plants couldn't grow, Silver City was severely lacking in food, and could only rely on hunting dark monsters with flesh and certain mutated animals to survive, the population began to decline uncontrollably rapidly, fortunately, later the 'Black Face Grass' was found, it could survive tenaciously in this environment, becoming our reliable and stable food source."

"It is considered the last favor left by the great gods, allowing Silver City to persist generation after generation, for 2,582 years in the 'Dark Age'."

"This is the time recorded by the successive 'Chiefs', while other Silver City citizens regarded the period with more lightning as daytime, and the period with less lightning as night, one cycle being a day... Because it was often chaotic, we couldn't accurately determine the number of days."

What a peculiar place... Klein was grateful that he didn't take it for granted to explain the day, but rather vaguely described it as the next two days.

Derek briefly finished describing several memorable events in the history of Silver City, and then said:

"After the population recovered to a certain extent, the number of extraordinary beings also increased, the 'Six-person Council' began to organize elite teams to explore the darkness, up to now, until today, we have explored the original territory and nearby city-states, and are advancing towards the denser and more terrifying darkness, at the edge of that area, we have discovered many strange but destroyed cities, we suspect that these are shelters built by the remaining other humans, unfortunately, they were still devoured by the 'Dark Thing'."

The "Dark Thing" he described should refer to various monsters hidden in the darkness, unimaginable to normal people... Klein nodded imperceptibly. "... The Silver Kingdom was once under the rule of the Giant King's Court. Therefore, the extraordinary chain we possess is the 'Giant' path. We also call it the 'Divine Blood Warrior' path... When we killed certain monsters and explored the destroyed cities, we obtained some other sequences' magic potion recipes, but the chain was incomplete, with more or less flaws." Derrick began to describe the current situation of the Silver City.

Upon hearing this, Klein suddenly perked up. Although his posture didn't change much, he was clearly more focused.

I like learning about sequence magic potions the most! The Giant King's Court... The Silver City and the North Continent have the same history? The Second Age's history... Hmm, killing monsters drops recipes? This is playing a game, right? No, there's another possibility. Those monsters were once humans, extraordinary beings... Klein suddenly felt a heavy feeling.

Seeing that the Sage didn't show any reaction, Derrick gritted his teeth and deliberated before saying again:

"The names of the magic potion recipes in the 'Giant' path are, sequence 9 'Extraordinary Warrior', sequence 8 'Gladiator', sequence 7 'Weapon Master', sequence 6 'Dawn Knight', sequence 5 'Guardian', and sequence 4 'Hunter', and the names of the higher sequences are only known to the elders of the 'Six Elders Council'."

Sequence 4 'Hunter'... Is this the name of the high sequence magic potion recipe? This is the first time I've heard of something like this! Klein felt relieved that he finally had a title for a high sequence powerful being, but he suspected that this was an ancient name, different from the current description of the North Continent, just like "Storm Priest" and "Mariner" are different.

Well, Extraordinary Warrior, Gladiator, Weapon Master... It sounds familiar... Right, the War God Church has the complete sequences that are very similar to this! Sequence 9 'Warrior', sequence 8 'Fighter', sequence 7 'Weapon Master'! Due to the confidentiality issue, Klein only knew the names of the first three formulas of the complete sequence of the War God Church, but this didn't prevent him from equating the two.

From the core meaning, it's basically the same... The complete sequence mastered by the War God Church was the so-called 'Giant' path... This Sage said that in the Third Age, which was the Cataclysm Age, this deity inherited the legacy of the Giant King's Court? Or He was himself an ancient giant? Derrick continued to introduce:

"After overcoming the initial difficulties, the Silver City has been ruled by the 'Six Elders Council'. The elder at the highest position is honored as the 'Chief', while the other five are not ranked differently... The current 'Six Elders Council' consists of three 'Hunter', two most promising 'Guardians', and one 'Shepherd'."

Wow, the Silver City has three high sequence powerful beings! Half-god beings! If they were alone, they could wipe out the Tarot Society hundreds of times... Klein felt a bit uneasy as he listened. He hasn't tried to "pull people" under the watchful eyes of high sequence powerful beings yet.

However, considering the young man on the other side is still an ordinary person and not even a sequence 9, he won't receive attention from the high-ranking individuals for a long time. He let go of his worry.

" Shepherd ", is this from another sequence? The incomplete ones... It sounds very similar to the style of "Aurora Society", that person, that member of the "Aurora Society" whose name I forgot, wrote a letter to Mr. Z, constantly mentioning "The Lamb of the Lord"... Klein maintained an easy posture, casually asking:

" Shepherd?" "Yes, this is the sequence path we found in those cities destroyed by the 'Dark Thing'. It goes up to sequence 5 'The Shepherd', but Elder Loviea is extremely powerful, extremely strange, and extremely terrifying. It is said that she once fought against evil spirits at a very high sequence level without getting injured. So, after the position of the 'Six-person Council' became vacant, she was exceptionally appointed as an Elder." Derrick replied with a hint of fear.

Klein thought for a moment and smiled, asking:

"What is the presequence of 'The Shepherd'? I have a feeling I'm familiar with this. You know, the names in history are always different from the modern ones."

"Dalek City, the name of the potion never changed," Derrick instinctively retorted, then lowered his head and said, "Sequence 9 'The Secret Prayerist'..."

Sure enough! Klein was satisfied because his conjecture was confirmed.

This is the name of sequence 9 of the 'Aurora Society'!

"Sequence 8 'The Whisperer', sequence 7 'The Hidden Monk', sequence 6 'The Rose Priestess', sequence 5 'The Shepherd'." Derrick recounted everything he knew in detail.

Whisperer, listener, something like that... Hey, I know more about the information from the headquarters of the Night Watcher faction than you do... Klein nodded approvingly and encouraged Derrick to continue.

Derrick roughly described the current situation of Dalek City and couldn't help mentioning:

"We are under the curse of fate. Whether it's ordinary people or extraordinary ones, after death, they will become evil spirits. Only the evil spirits formed by extraordinary people are more strange, more terrifying, and more difficult to deal with. Historically, this curse nearly destroyed Dalek City several times. The only solution is for people of the same bloodline to end the lives of the deceased themselves."

"This is a cruel thing. I hope you can become strong and find a way to free the people of Dalek City from this curse." The empty-headed "Idiot" Klein could only pour out cheap consolation to the other person.

"So, I want to become the sun, the sun... While there is still sunlight on the earth, we haven't encountered any curse." Derrick whispered with difficulty and pain.

Klein nodded slightly and said:

"You will have the chance. Remember, in the next two days, I will bring you back here again at any time. Try to avoid staying with others as much as possible."

"Okay." Derrick replied in a low voice.

"Before that, you need to determine your code name." Klein smiled and pointed at the surface of the bronze long table, where a tarot card was already emerging.

He believed that the other person surely hadn't come into contact with such things, so he briefly introduced: "Choose a card as your code name, except for the Fool, Justice, and the Hanged Man."

Derrick stepped forward two steps, flipped through the tarot cards, and almost without hesitation said:

"'Sun', I choose 'Sun'."

"Remember your choice, it will accompany you for life." Klein said in a familiar spiritist tone.

Meanwhile, he extended his hand, very self-controlled, interrupted the connection, and then watched the deep red light retract, watching the young man turn into a shadow figure, and gradually dissipate.
