Chapter 109 - CHAPTER 100 – “The Phoenix’s Choice” (Dream Trial: Hadi, Day 1–30)

Location: Dream realm — The Nirvana Flame

The sky burned, but nothing turned to ash.

Hadi blinked against the radiance of the sunless flame surrounding her. She stood on a vast field of white sand, where everything shimmered with color—and yet nothing lived. In the distance stood a mountain wrapped in fire shaped like wings.

"Hello?"

No answer.

Until the wind spoke.

"Why do you burn, little ember?"

The voice came from the peak.

She narrowed her eyes. "You know why I'm here. I'm not scared of pain."

The wind laughed.

"Good. Because this pain is not yours."

Day 3: The Flame Without Heat

Hadi wandered. The Nirvana Flame surrounded everything, licking at her skin, lighting her hair into radiant pink plumes. But nothing hurt. It just… judged. Every memory, every lie she told herself. About her worth. About Max. About leaving.

And one night, the sand shifted—and she saw herself.

A version of her who had never left. Who had stayed with the family. Stronger. Loved. Trusted.

"She's not me," Hadi growled.

"No. She's what you could be—if you stopped running."

Day 10: Trial of Impurity

The flame turned dark.

Now it burned. It reached into her guilt—the Veil, the shadows, the static in her mind. The Court's whispers. The fear of becoming hollow like what she saw.

"Why do you seek rebirth?" a voice asked.

"Because I want to live," she said.

"Then let go of what no longer serves you."

She hesitated.

Then hurled her fears into the fire.

Screamed until they turned to smoke.

Day 19: The Phoenix Appears

The skies cracked, and from above descended a massive, graceful creature of living flame—its wings were aurora colored, shifting between pink, gold, and white. Her Guardian.

Seraphira, the Undying Blaze.

"You are strong, Hadi. But not pure."

"Nobody is," Hadi spat. "But I'm honest now."

The phoenix studied her with molten eyes.

"Then you are ready. Burn. And be born anew."

Day 25–30: The Rebirth Forge

Hadi's final trial was to die—her soul separated from her body and cast into the Heartflame.

Memories bled from her. Doubt. Shame. Ego. And then—

—Truth.

Her energy manipulation evolved. Not just raw power, but refined will. She could now filter energy, cleanse impurity, and weaponize raw emotion. Her flames were not chaotic—they were surgical.

She emerged from the Heartflame on Day 30…

Hair longer, glowing pink with glowing glyphs down her spine.

Eyes like magmaglass.

Breathing serenity… and wrath.

Low Flare Tier — Nirvana Flamebearer.

Outside, her unconscious form exhaled—and fire gently curled around her fingers. Max smiled in his sleep. Somewhere, Grim stirred.
