Chapter 41 - Apprehension

"Alright! Round em up"

The Mikurajima port was a chaotic blur of shouting, rotor blades, and flashing lights. SAT units moved violently, surrounding every suspect, every potential threat, while the civilians on the docks scrambled out of the way. Officers barked orders, fists slammed against the ground, and the sounds of choppers finally descending down on the island

Ryu was carried carefully into Helicopter 1, his body limp and motionless, while Umi followed, compliant and docile, and one of the other suspects was secured beside them. The cramped interior hummed with the sound of the choppers' blade's.

On the opposite side of the port, Helicopter 2 waited. Kai, also submissive and SAT not taking him as a threat cause of his character, and Junko, shedding tears and quivering—since this is a first time experience for her. Another other suspect shuffled in behind them, subdued by multiple officers. The engines whined to life, and the chopper lifted into the sky, leaving the island's chaos behind.

A police ferry was reserved for the rest: Jin, Shimo, Shin, Coco, Miko, and suspects 3, 4, 5, and 6. This transport was different, it had more SAT members, more officers, and certainly more eyes. This was the vehicle for high level threat suspects or ones who put up a struggle against SAT, and they were itching for someone to make a move. Every suspect sat with measured wariness, their eyes darting between each other and the guards just watching, guns in hands loaded.

One by one, the transports pulled away, cutting through the fog and the chaos. The island shrank behind them, leaving only the sound of the wind, the engines, and the heavy, suffocating weight of imminent interrogation and justice.

"05:10 AM — Lift off complete. All suspects secured. Departing Mikurajima Island. ETA 08:44 AM, Osaka Prefectural Police Headquarters, over."
