The Fourth Raikage, A, arrived at Konoha Village with his guards, Darui and C, along with a delegation of officials from the Land of Lightning. Today was an important day—the day the Land of Lightning and the Land of Fire were to sign a formal peace and friendship treaty.
Although Kumogakure still held an absolute advantage on the battlefield, the entire leadership of both the village and the nation knew it was all a false prosperity. As long as Konoha had that monster, they would be invincible throughout the ninja world. This realization had become even clearer after Mabui and Samui were captured and the Raikage returned with a severed arm.
The one speaking disdainfully was the dark-skinned Darui, shouldering his broadsword and chewing on a toothpick. A's sleeve was empty, and his once-golden, sexy mustache now had faint traces of white. For a man as proud as him, actively admitting defeat and traveling to an enemy nation to sign a treaty was no easy feat.
"Don't speak so carelessly. This isn't the Land of Lightning. Be careful the Konoha Anbu don't overhear you. It would be very disadvantageous for us," the other guard, C, said calmly, stopping Darui from running his mouth further. As an excellent sensory ninja, the closer he got to Konoha, the stronger his sense of danger became.
"Let's go," A said with a cold face, giving an order to those behind him. "Everyone, keep up!"
Darui immediately relayed the command, and the large group proceeded into Konoha.

"What's going on outside?" Hatake Kusuo and Shion were sitting on the floor, drinking tea. A new, exquisite tea set sat on the table, with fragrant steam billowing from the hot water.
"I don't know," Shion said, batting her eyelashes. "Why don't we go to the room and make a baby?" she suddenly suggested enthusiastically.
Pfft! A mouthful of tea shot out of Kusuo's mouth. "Ahem, ahem. Uh, Shion, do you even know what 'making a baby' means?" Kusuo asked, looking at the girl who was now angry at him for spitting his tea.
"Hmph! Of course I know! Mother taught me all about it since I was little. She said that as a priestess, the first important thing to do after coming of age is to bear a child to continue the bloodline for the next priestess. Because only the bodies of the successive priestesses contain the power to seal and resist Mōryō," Shion explained matter-of-factly.
Kusuo swished the remaining water in his cup and poured himself a new one. He understood her point, but he had a big question. To control Mōryō, the priestess's bloodline was crucial. But historically, he had never heard of a male priest. Could there be a power in the ninja world that could influence the gender of a baby? This discovery planted a new thought in his mind.
The girl across from him was still staring at him with a resentful gaze, as if she wanted to eat him alive. Kusuo ignored his freshly brewed tea, quickly got up, grabbed his sword, and headed for the door. "I just remembered the Hokage needs me for something today. We can discuss this matter you mentioned next time. Bye!"
With that, he ducked out the door with his sword.
"Hmph! Mother was right. Men are all pigs," Shion muttered, pouting with her hands on her hips as she watched him leave.
"Huh? Shion-neechan, where did Big Brother go? He was just here," Hanabi came running in on her little bare feet, her excited expression turning to bewilderment when she saw the empty seat.
"Oh, him? He went to find that Hokage with the giant pandas!" Shion said, glancing towards the door. Her words immediately made little Hanabi's face tense up. It's true! Big Brother really does like that type!
"I'm going to find my sister!" With that, Hanabi ran back to her room. In her mind, only her sister could compete with the Hokage!
After leaving the house, Kusuo sensed a different atmosphere. He had been cooped up at home for half a month since returning from his senjutsu training on Mount Myōboku. Being cared for by the girls had been very comfortable. 'Looks like something big has happened in the village.'
Whoosh!
With a Body Flicker Technique, he headed straight for the Hokage's office. Pushing open the door, however, Kusuo didn't see the familiar... magnificent scenery. "Where's the Hokage?" he asked a young ninja in the office.
"Today is the day the Land of Lightning and the Land of Fire are signing the armistice treaty. Lord Hokage and the elders have all gone to the meeting."
Kusuo frowned. A treaty between the two nations? "Mm, I see," he nodded to the young ninja. This kind of meeting was usually held in the village's Administrative Hall. He'd been there when he was recommended for Hokage, so he knew the way.
"Lord Kusuo!"
At the Administrative Hall, the Anbu at the door didn't dare to block his path, bowing respectfully instead. Kusuo nodded to them and walked inside.
"Who goes there!?"
Inside the hall, the atmosphere around the enormous oval wooden conference table was already thick with tension. Kusuo's intrusion added immense psychological pressure on the delegation from the Land of Lightning. They even thought Konoha had secretly arranged for someone to ambush them.
However, when Darui and the other Kumo ninja saw the intruder's face, they were stunned. Where did this half-grown brat come from? How could he just walk into a major diplomatic venue where Konoha is negotiating with another nation? So this is Konoha. Nothing special.
Darui didn't notice the rapidly changing expression on the face of the Fourth Raikage, who was seated at the head of their side of the table. "Where did you come from, kid? This isn't a place for you. Get back to where you belong!" he said dismissively.
Kusuo ignored him and walked straight towards Tsunade's position, where she sat with the Konoha elders, Koharu Utatane and Homura Mitokado.
"You!" Seeing the boy dare to ignore him, Darui was instantly enraged. The infamous temper of the Land of Lightning ninja was about to flare up.
"Silence, Darui!" A thunderous roar from A cut off the words Darui was about to say.
Darui looked unwillingly towards the Raikage, his face full of grievance. "Lord Raikage, although we initiated the peace talks, it doesn't mean we are the weaker party! A mere brat is the perfect target to put them in their place!" he tried to suggest in a low voice.
SLAP!
A crisp sound echoed, startling the entire room. The Fourth Raikage, A, with his one remaining arm, had slapped Darui hard across the face.
Kusuo calmly found a corner seat and sat down, as if none of this had anything to do with him.
