Chapter 77 - Embracing Kurenai

In the ninja world, there are many kinds of Body Flicker Jutsu. The most basic form gathers chakra into the legs to boost speed. More advanced versions incorporate chakra nature transformations—for instance, Hanzo from Hidden Rain used Water Style: Water Flicker Jutsu.

At the highest level are space-time techniques, such as the Flying Thunder God Jutsu. But what exactly is the Konoha-Style Body Flicker Jutsu?

Kitazawa thought about it for a long time before finally recalling. In the original series, it was used by Konoha Jonin Hayate Gekkō. It allowed the user to disperse into leaves to evade enemy attacks.

In Kitazawa's opinion, it was very similar to Itachi Uchiha's Crow Clone Technique. Overall, it was a pretty solid jutsu.

He came back to his senses and continued rotating the water inside the balloon. An hour later—pop!—the balloon burst.

Kitazawa nodded in satisfaction. His chakra control and chakra shape transformation at a mastery level were, frankly, monstrous.

In the original series, Naruto took about ten days to learn the Rasengan. Kitazawa estimated that he would need only two days to truly master it. And unlike Naruto, he wouldn't need Shadow Clones to help form the sphere.

---

Night fell.

Tuesday passed, and only two days remained until Friday.

For the upcoming friendly match, Kitazawa had done all he needed to. Now, it was up to Sasuke and the others to deliver. He didn't give them any new assignments.

Aside from himself practicing Rasengan, their routine training continued.

Friday arrived.

The sky was perfectly clear, and the warm morning sunlight bathed Konoha. Kitazawa stood in front of a boulder behind his house and took a deep breath.

Rasengan!

As chakra surged, a spinning blue sphere formed in his right hand. Kitazawa smirked, then slammed it into the rock.

The stone cracked apart, and fragments blasted in every direction. In a flash, the Rasengan bored through the boulder and created a deep crater in the ground.

That was the power of the Rasengan.

Most ninjas who took it head-on would be half-dead at best. Now that he had mastered the Rasengan, Kitazawa had gained a solid trump card.

The only issue was how to explain it. He rubbed his chin thoughtfully.

Maybe once Tsunade completed the fourth healing jutsu, he could ask Hiruzen Sarutobi for an A-rank jutsu in exchange.

Previously, when he submitted the Genjutsu: Magic Heart Technique, he only received money, no jutsu rewards. But with two techniques combined, perhaps it would be enough for a trade.

Kitazawa also thought of today's friendly match. If he performed well in front of Hiruzen, it would boost his chances of receiving an A-rank jutsu.

"I can't afford to lose." His gaze flicked to the floating system text.

[~Current Task: Master the Rasengan without any assistance.

Task Reward: Konoha-Style Body Flicker Technique

Task Complete. Reward Granted.~]

A surge of information entered his mind. In an instant, Kitazawa's figure dissolved into a swirl of leaves and reappeared five meters away.

"This technique is actually pretty handy," he muttered with a nod. After cleaning up the area, he made his way to the Academy.

---

"Kitazawa-senpai!"

At the Academy gate, Kitazawa heard Iruka's voice. He paused and turned around.

Along with Iruka was Mizuki, who wore a smile, though it looked somewhat forced.

"Kitazawa," Mizuki reminded coldly, "don't forget today's friendly match."

"Of course not," Kitazawa replied calmly. "And don't forget—if you lose, you owe me a favor."

He still planned to use that favor to lure Mizuki into a trap.

"Don't worry. I always keep my word," Mizuki said with a snort. "But you won't get the chance."

Iruka glanced nervously at the two men radiating hostility. One was his Class 1-A, the other was Mizuki, his old friend and Class 2-A's instructor.

Thanks to Kitazawa's arrival, there had been some strain between him and Mizuki, and choosing a side now felt impossible.

"One more thing," Mizuki added, unable to hide his jealousy. "I hope the Hokage really shows up."

Kitazawa's sudden promotion to Special Jonin had left him bitter. He believed Hiruzen had made a mistake. Clearly, I'm the more talented one!

"You'll see him," Kitazawa said, turning to wave. "See you at ten."

"Enjoy your smugness while you can," Mizuki growled.

"Mizuki, why are you always targeting Kitazawa-senpai?" Iruka asked, baffled.

"..." Mizuki's mouth twitched. This idiot still doesn't get it?

"It's just a friendly match," Mizuki said, suppressing his emotions. "I'm not targeting anyone."

If Kitazawa were here, he'd help him add: He's not targeting anyone. He just equally resents everyone doing better than him.

In the original series, Mizuki was always like that.

Kitazawa pushed open the office door and saw Kurenai inside.

"Yakumo's already in the classroom," she said.

"Thanks, Kurenai." Kitazawa walked up to her and gently held her hands.

"It's nothing," she replied casually. "I had time today, so I figured I'd watch the match too."

"Your hands are really soft," Kitazawa said with a grin.

"I'm trying to talk business here!" Kurenai glared at him.

"Haven't we finished the business part?" Kitazawa leaned back in the chair but didn't let go of her hands.

Kurenai immediately saw through him. If it were someone else, they might hesitate—but not her. She stepped forward and sat right on his lap.

A soft fragrance filled the air.

Kitazawa felt the smooth, round softness of her thighs against his own. This kind of bold personality—he liked it. He wrapped his arms around her slim waist.

"Yakumo's opponent is the well-known Hyuga Neji. If she's in danger, stop the match immediately," Kurenai said, shifting uncomfortably. It was her first time being this close to someone.

"I understand," Kitazawa promised. "I'll keep an eye on her."

In truth, with Hiruzen watching, no student would be allowed to get hurt.

"All right, you'd better get to class. I'll wait in the office." Kurenai pried his fingers off and stood.

"See you at ten." Kitazawa reluctantly let go of her soft, warm body.

---

9:45 AM.

In Class 1-A, the first period had just ended.

"The friendly match with Class 2-A is about to begin. Are you ready?" Kitazawa wore a bright smile.

"Yes!" Led by Naruto and Kiba, the students responded with great enthusiasm.

"Then let's go!" Kitazawa raised his hand and led the charge.
