Chapter 3 - Young Hinata

A New Day

Kitazawa woke up early—today's first class was the Will of Fire, and he was the one teaching it. In a way, that alone showed just how seriously Sarutobi Hiruzen valued it.

This old man was sly... and a voyeur.

Kitazawa was certain the Third Hokage would use his crystal ball to secretly observe the class. Not because of him, of course—but because of Uzumaki Naruto and the others.

When Kitazawa arrived at the classroom of First-Year Class A, only five students were present. He scanned the room, and his eyes landed on a quiet girl sitting in the middle row.

She wore a long coat and tightly wrapped trousers, her short blue-black hair neat and tidy. But what stood out the most… was her pair of pure white eyes.

Byakugan— the iconic dōjutsu of the Hyuga clan, known for its powerful insight and nearly 360-degree vision.

Suddenly, a system notification appeared before him:

[Current Task: Help your deskmate, Hyuga Hinata, retrieve her scarf.

Task Reward: Konoha Whirlwind ]

[Do you accept?]

Kitazawa twitched slightly.

Deskmate? How was he supposed to become Hinata's deskmate? After a few seconds of thought, he decided to outsmart the system.

He casually walked up and sat next to her.

"...?" Hinata glanced at him, confused, but said nothing due to her shy nature. She nervously pressed her index fingers together.

"I'm Kitazawa, your Class A homeroom teacher," he said, glancing at her delicate features. Her pale skin gave her a doll-like appearance.

"Teacher, hello!" Hinata quickly stood and bowed.

As a member of the noble Hyuga clan, she'd been trained in strict etiquette from an early age.

"No need to be so formal." Kitazawa smiled gently. "Is it alright if I sit next to you?"

He didn't bring up the scarf right away—it would've been too abrupt.

"Y-Yes…" Hinata replied instinctively, then tilted her head with a puzzled look.

"I didn't finish prepping the lesson, and there's no seat at the podium," Kitazawa explained calmly, flipping open a folder. "So I'll just sit here temporarily."

A complete lie. But Hinata didn't doubt him for a second.

At that moment, another system prompt appeared:

[~ Current Task: Be the first student in the class to attract the attention of Principal Sarutobi Hiruzen.

Task Reward: Wind Style: Great Breakthrough ~]

[Do you accept?]

Now that was unexpected. Maybe the system wasn't as stupid as he thought.

He quickly accepted the task. After all, he was already planning to make a strong impression on Sarutobi Hiruzen today.

Connections were everything, and loyalty mattered most.

Hinata stared blankly at her good-looking teacher. He seemed so familiar… so warm. A pang of envy welled up in her chest. If only she had a personality like him, maybe she wouldn't be such a disappointment to her father, Hyuga Hiashi.

"What are you looking at?" Kitazawa asked suddenly, noticing her dazed expression and those watery, uncertain eyes.

"N-Nothing!" she replied, flustered.

"You still haven't told me your name, Hyuga-san," he said with a smile.

"Eh?" Hinata jumped up, deeply embarrassed. "Excuse me, I'm Hyuga Hinata!"

"You're so polite again." Kitazawa chuckled, reaching out and patting her head. "We're classmates now, not teacher and student."

"S-Sorry…" Hinata stiffened at the gesture, lowering her head again.

"Sit down, let's just talk," he said, withdrawing his hand.

Hinata sat obediently, legs together, hands on her knees. Then something struck her.

"Um… how did you know my surname is Hyuga?"

Kitazawa looked at her eyes. "It's obvious from your Byakugan."

"D-Don't look…" she muttered, turning her head. "It's not pretty…"

"I think it's beautiful," Kitazawa replied sincerely. "Why do you think it's not?"

"I…" Hinata hesitated.

"We're friends now," Kitazawa said gently.

Hinata's face turned pale. "They… said the Byakugan looks creepy…"

Just as he expected. This matched the original story—three mischievous boys had said the same thing to Hinata and even stole her scarf.

"So that happened, huh? Then I'll have to deal with them." Kitazawa's face turned serious.

"Eh?" Hinata blinked in surprise.

"Do you remember what they looked like?" he asked warmly. "Don't worry, I'm a teacher—I won't hurt them."

"I do…" she nodded. "But I don't know their names."

"That's fine," Kitazawa replied. "Just tell me what they looked like."

"There were three of them… about my age… that's all I remember."

"That's enough. I have a few suspects. I'll confirm it after class."

"You're… really amazing!" Hinata blurted out.

In her mind, Kitazawa had already become a dependable adult she could trust.

"It's nothing," he said casually. "I'll let you know when it's done."

"Thank you, Mr. Kitazawa." Just as he was about to reply, voices echoed from the classroom door.

"Sakura, do you think our teacher is a hottie?"

"Who cares if the teacher's hot? What matters is how many cute boys are in our class!"

Two little girls walked in.

One had short pink hair with a ribbon, her wide forehead visible. The other had a blonde side ponytail with long bangs covering her right eye.

Kitazawa recognized them instantly—Haruno Sakura and Yamanaka Ino.

The former, one of the original heroines who helped save the ninja world alongside Naruto and Sasuke, though let's be honest, her contribution was… 'supportive'.

The latter, a member of the famed "Ino-Shika-Cho" trio, specializes in perception and control. Both girls adored Uchiha Sasuke, but lacking the heroine aura, they ultimately became… blonde benchwarmers.

"So handsome!" Ino's eyes sparkled the moment she spotted Kitazawa.

"Is he our teacher?" Sakura asked, clearly surprised.

Kitazawa smiled slightly. The new generation has arrived.
