Backstory
Kael was a field biologist researching chiral energy fluctuations near Seattle when the Death Stranding event erupted. A lab experiment involving an unstable BB unit accidentally transported him to the Beach for 47 minutes—where he bonded with something other, something unseen.
He emerged changed: his DOOMS awakened, his voice now echoed across the Beach. He could see the dead, feel their thoughts—and speak with them.
Bridges tried to study him, but his refusal to weaponize BTs made him a liability. After a failed attempt to use him to pacify a Cataclysm-class BT, Kael was expelled and disavowed. Since then, he's wandered America with a mysterious BT child named Mire at his side, helping isolated survivors and protecting the dead from being erased.
