Chapter 30 - Chapter 28: Operation in Progress

The previous events had shaken Novara to its core. Crane had faced the troublemakers, defeating Julian and now battling Noir. Brane had taken on Number Four, Zeric, and emerged victorious, though Zeric, after killing the police who had restrained him, sat back to rest, awaiting orders from Number One. Milo had confrontedخه Number Five, Toxifar, and despite coming close to victory, he had fallen.

Now, the focus shifts to the Middle-Class District, where a new battle rages Doton against the Fenrir Twins. The tension in the air is palpable, and every step could decide the fate of the district.

The middle-class district of Novara was caught in an unnatural silence.

The buildings here were taller and more crowded, rising tightly around the street like silent giants.

At the center of the road stood Diton Number Three.

His body leaned slightly forward, broad shoulders relaxed, a cold smile etched across his face as if he were enjoying the scene.

The energy around him was heavy... an invisible pressure that distorted the air itself, making every breath feel unnaturally heavy.

The police opened fire, discharging their energy pistols.

Crackling bolts of electricity struck Diton directly-

-but his body didn't react.

Not even a step faltered.

Deton walked forward with absolute confidence, his smile widening.

"Come on... come on... come on!"

"Where are the warriors? Let one of you fight me!"

One of the officers, gripping his energy pistol tightly, shouted: "Where are the Fenrir Twins?! Where did they go?!"

Another officer answered, his voice tense: "I don't know. I saw him throw each of them in a different direction... they haven't come back yet."

A third policeman cursed under his breath. "Damn it... they were fighting him in the poor district, but because of this monster's overwhelming force, he managed to reach here."

He clenched his teeth. "If it weren't for Novara's energy barrier protecting the buildings... this beast would've wiped the city off the face of the earth."

At the same time...

Near the Guild Agency, the situation was being brought under control.

Civilians were calmly evacuated, the streets cleared entirely to ensure their safety. Novara's police forces moved with precision, successfully taking down most of the troublemakers with minimal damage.

Fires were extinguished. Wounded civilians were escorted away. Order, slowly but surely, was being restored.

But the battle was far from over.

Only the most dangerous remained.

The Numbers.

And the strongest members of the troublemakers

like Noir, who was still locked in a fierce battle against Kryne, high above the city, across the rooftops of Novara.

Inside the Guild Agency,

Ravena, the head of the agency, stood silently, observing the situation through the Nova Screen. Multiple views of Novara filled the display-streets, rooftops, and danger zones flashing with warning markers.

She spoke firmly: "Nova. Have you located the Fenrir Twins?"

The screen flickered, and the advanced digital assistance system responded. A holographic interface lit up, forming the image of a young woman with short blue hair.

"Uhh... hold on," Nova replied, her voice slightly strained.

"I'm still scanning all the streets. This task is difficult for me I'm usually assigned as a guide for adventurers inside controlled rooms only."

Ravena narrowed her eyes. "Stop complaining," she said coldly.

"Use every resource you have."

Nova's holographic image crossed her arms slightly, her tone defensive but sincere.

"I'm doing my best."

Ravena placed a hand on her forehead, letting out a quiet breath.

"Damn it... why does the Church place all of this responsibility on me?"

"They won't even respond to my reports..."

Ravena's phone rang.

She picked it up immediately. "Yes, sir."

A calm but authoritative voice replied: "Good evening, Lady Ravena. How is the situation?"

Ravena answered without hesitation: "One of the enemies has reached the middle-class district and is currently engaging the police.

The Fenrir Twins who were dispatched to stop him... appear to have been defeated."

There was a brief pause.

"I see," the man replied.

"We will dispatch additional Guild members shortly. However, they may be delayed. Stay on standby and remain in contact so you can provide them with instructions the moment they arrive."

Ravena straightened her posture. "Understood, sir."

The call ended.

Ravena stared at the screen, her eyes fixed on the unfolding chaos.

The scene returned to Dayton, visible on the monitor. He advanced toward the police.

The officers instinctively took a step back.

Deton sprinted forward, swinging a powerful punch toward them.

Suddenly, a hand stopped him mid-strike.

It was one of the Fenrir Twins.

A cold smile spread across Deton face as he looked at him.

"Oh? Look who's here... So you've returned!"

The first Fenrir Twin's head was bleeding.

Dayton leaned closer, his voice sharp:

"And your brother... where is he?"

The first Fenrir Twin struck without hesitation, landing a punch on Dayton and pushing him back slightly.

Deton staggered, his muscles tensing, rippling under the strain.

"So... you still prefer not to speak, huh? Very well!"

Energy surged from detons body, sculpting his muscles even further, his aura radiating power.

The first Twin spread his own energy as well, the air around him crackling with tension.

Without a moment's pause, he advanced, preparing to strike Dayton again.

Before the first Twin could reach him, Deton struck him with a sudden blow, causing a small explosion to ripple outward.

Without hesitation, Deton grabbed the first Twin, lifting him high, and slammed him forcefully onto the ground. The impact buried him into the asphalt, triggering another massive explosion that shook the area.

The police watched in terror, frozen by the scene.

"What... what a terrifying power! The explosion..."

Deton laughed, standing upright as he looked down at the ground.

"What happened? Will you surrender again?"

The first Twin stood firm and struck deton in the stomach.

Deton responded immediately, hitting the Twin on the head.

They continued like this, exchanging blows in a perfectly balanced rhythm, each punch met with a counter.

It was clear-they were evenly matched in strength and skill.

Deton grabbed the first Twin by the collar, lifting him slightly off the ground with a firm grip.

Before he could fully raise him, a sudden strike landed on the Twin's jaw, forcing him to recoil slightly.

Deton gathered his explosive energy into a concentrated sphere, hurling it at the Twin and sending him flying backward.

Without a moment's hesitation, Deton dashed forward, closing the distance with incredible speed.

He grabbed the Twin by his hair, lifting him high into the sky.

Then, with precision and force, Deton unleashed another explosive sphere, striking the Twin mid-air.

The collision created a massive explosion that lit up the sky, shaking the surrounding streets and leaving the police staring in terror.

Deton smiled confidently.

Suddenly, someone struck him from behind with force.

It was the second Twin.

The Twin unleashed a rapid series of powerful punches at Deton.

Deton grabbed his arms and detonated a small explosion, weakening the Twin's hands.

He then rammed his head into the Twin multiple times.

Blood flowed from both of them, staining the ground as the intensity of the fight escalated.

The first Twin appeared behind Deton, his body covered in bruises.

He grabbed Dayton from behind, pinning him firmly, and began to strangle him.

Meanwhile, the second Twin unleashed a relentless barrage of brutal strikes.

Rafina watched from the screen, analyzing the battle.

"This is a test of sheer physical strength," she thought.

"Both Fenrir Twins possess extraordinary muscular power, enough to repel almost any attack... yet this monster called Deton has brought them to this state."

The second Twin continued striking Deton relentlessly.

Deton began to bleed from his mouth, exhaustion showing on his face, as he took a moment to catch his breath.

Then he let out a powerful roar, and an explosion erupted from his body, sending a towering plume of smoke into the air.

Deton released the second Twin and grabbed his left arm.

His face, mouth, and body were bleeding as he walked slowly.

"Damn... these twins truly don't know what it means to stop," he said, smiling and laughing.

"This... this is what I like. I love these kinds of epic battles."

Suddenly, in an instant, the first Twin appeared and landed a strong punch on Deton, while the second Twin lunged with his leg, striking Deton's shin and throwing him off balance.

Deton gritted through the pain, trying to stand balanced.

He attempted to strike the first Twin, but the moment he lowered his defense, the second Twin landed a direct blow.

As he tried to focus on the second Twin, the first Twin struck him immediately.

The situation continued like this until Deton lost his patience.

Suddenly, a powerful yellow energy flared around him. He screamed with all his might, unleashing an enormous explosion that hurled both Twins several meters away.

The first Twin advanced toward Deton, despite seeing nothing but thick smoke.

Suddenly, a powerful punch struck him, charged with energy like a missile, sending him flying far away.

The second Twin watched the situation and decided to intervene immediately.

But as he reached Deton, Deton had already charged an enormous, massive energy sphere. He slammed it into the second Twin, causing another massive explosion.

The second Twin fell to the ground, covered in smoke and bruises.

Deton began walking slowly, observing the scene:

"Where's your damn brother?"

He focused his gaze into the distance and saw him lying on the ground. Deton felt a sense of relief and took a deep breath, slightly at ease.

Deton ran his hand through his hair, small fragments of debris falling from it as he slowly looked around.

His eyes were cold, irritated.

"The thing I hate most about this city…" he muttered,

"…is its protection."

He scoffed softly.

"After all the explosions I caused, not a single building collapsed."

On the ground, one of the Twins lay motionless.

The first Twin, however, began to move, struggling to rise.

Blood streamed down his face—the result of the missile-like punch he had taken earlier.

Nearby, the police rushed to his side, checking on him quickly.

They supported him, helping him stand.

One officer shouted in panic:

"Damn it! Call for backup immediately!"

His eyes locked onto Deton, fear clear in his voice.

"The Twin won't last long against this monster!"

Suddenly, one of the policemen standing beside the first Twin noticed a small sphere approaching them.

"H–Hey… what is that?"

In the next instant, the tiny point exploded

and with it, everything around them was blown apart.

A violent blast swallowed the area.

Deton looked in their direction and burst out laughing.

"Boom… boom… boom!"

Driven by his overwhelming excitement, a sharp pain shot through his ribs.

"Ouch!"

He glanced down at his massive, muscular body

his upper body completely bare, not wearing a shirt, only loose pants hanging from his waist.

He let out a breath mixed with laughter.

"These twins… really drained me."

All the police officers in that area were dead.

Every single one of them—

except for the first Twin.

Thanks to his solid body and the energy defense he activated at the last moment, he survived.

Slowly… painfully…

he rose from the ground and dropped to one knee.

His face was covered in scars and blood as he lifted his head.

His eyes locked onto Deton.

Rage boiled through his veins.

Pure, burning hatred.

He screamed.

For the first time…

his voice was heard.

A raw, furious scream that tore through the ruined street.

He charged straight toward Deton.

Deton's eyes widened in surprise.

"Ohoho…!"

A grin spread across his face as he sprinted forward as well.

The two rushed toward each other at full speed—

They collided.

Their hands locked together violently, fingers digging into flesh.

Their foreheads slammed into one another with a brutal impact.

The sound echoed through the district like a crash of steel.

They began punching each other relentlessly.

The first Twin's fist slammed into Deton, forcing him to stagger back from his position.

But Deton answered every blow with his own

each punch triggering a small explosion on impact.

Boom.

Boom.

The air trembled with every hit.

Suddenly, Deton grabbed the first Twin by his shirt.

His muscles tensed.

With one final explosion

he hurled him across the street, throwing him violently beside his second brother.

Deton panted heavily, exhaustion finally catching up to him

yet a wide smile still stretched across his face.

He stood beside them.

Slowly, a blazing, explosive beam began to form in his hand, energy gathering and compressing, vibrating violently in the air.

"I enjoyed fighting you," he said calmly, almost sincerely.

"But this… is the end."

Suddenly, just before he could unleash the beam,

a small, ringing sound echoed in Deton's ear.

He screamed:

"Oh… damn it!"

He pressed a finger into his ear and stopped the ringing.

Then, a strange voice emerged from the device inside his ear:

"Number Three… Deton."

Deton's expression immediately turned serious.

"I thought the device would have broken but it was still working".

The mysterious voice continued:

"Good. Are you ready to take the first step?"

Deton answered, steady and firm:

"Certainly, sir… Number One!"

Ravena, the Guild Agency leader, watching the scene on the monitors, froze in shock at what she just heard.

"Number One?!"

The mysterious voice responded calmly:

"Good. Then begin…"

The device powered down.

Deton cracked his knuckles, flexing his massive hands as he prepared himself.

He began charging his energy, causing the surrounding area to distort slightly from the overwhelming power.

Then, he crouched down into a low squat, placing his hands firmly on the ground, readying himself for what was about to come.

The air around him vibrated, thick with tension, as if the entire street was holding its breath.

Deton pressed his hands firmly onto the ground,

channeling his energy beneath the surface.

Small but powerful explosions began erupting underground,

each one spreading farther and farther as he pushed his power deeper.

The earth trembled slowly at first…

then with increasing intensity.

Vibrations raced through the soil,

echoing through tunnels and foundations,

spreading outward until the entire city of Novara could feel the pulse of his immense power.

Buildings quivered. Windows rattled. Even the energy barriers seemed to hum in response.

Deton screamed, his voice echoing through the trembling streets:

"Go ahead… Number Seven!!!"

The ground shook violently, the vibrations rippling through Novara.

The city's energy barrier—the invisible blue shield that protected every building and facility—wavered.

Its sensors, overwhelmed by the sheer force, faltered.

For the first time, the barrier struggled to distinguish what was dangerous and what was harmless.

A subtle chaos spread across the protective grid,

as if Novara itself had begun to feel the raw power of its enemy.

Ravena watched the chaos unfold on the agency's screens,

her eyes wide as the ground beneath her trembled slightly.

A thought crossed her mind:

"Number Seven…?"

Her heartbeat quickened.

"Are there… more Numbers than we expected? Bigger"

She clenched her fists, tension radiating from her every movement.

Meanwhile, amidst the trembling chaos of Novara,

in the wealthy district, behind the massive iron gate that separated the elite from the middle-class streets,

two figures stood shrouded in elaborate cloaks that covered their entire bodies.

One sat on the ground, motionless, exuding an aura of quiet authority.

The other stood tall beside them, vigilant, as if anticipating something unseen.

The wind carried the distant vibrations of the quake,

making the cloaks ripple and the shadows dance across the opulent walls.

Neither spoke.

Neither moved.

Yet the tension in the air was palpable, as if the city itself held its breath.

Around them, the wealthy of Novara strolled casually,

paying no mind to the quake shaking the city beneath their feet.

One of them spoke aloud, his tone slightly amused:

"Quakes haven't happened in Novara for a long time. But the rest… the common folk, fighting those Numbers… they'll handle it, I'm sure."

Another, equally refined in appearance, nodded in agreement:

"Of course."

Meanwhile, the elaborate cloaks of the two hidden figures concealed them completely.

No one could see their faces, their presence entirely undetectable,

as if they were shadows woven into the city itself.

One of the mysterious figures finally spoke.

It was Number Seven.

He glanced at the figure sitting beside him and asked quietly:

"Are you still with me?"

A calm, yet teasing voice answered

it belonged to a girl.

"Of course, you fool."

The girl sitting on the ground was Number Six

She held a device resembling a compact computer, streams of data flashing rapidly across its screen.

Her fingers moved swiftly, precise and confident.

"I'm close…" she muttered.

Then—

"Ah, finally! I did it!"

A sharp smile formed beneath her hood.

"Thanks to Number Three's interference, I've broken through their defense system."

She lifted her head slightly and spoke with certainty:

"Now move toward the designated target. Enter immediately— the protection system won't detect your presence."

Without hesitation, Number Seven moved at once, disappearing into the depths of Novara's guarded zone.

Number Seven slipped through the distorted defense layer without resistance.

For a split second, the blue barrier of Novara glitched… then stabilized again, as if nothing had happened.

He landed inside an underground facility.

Seal Control Center – Restricted Zone.

The space was vast, sterile, and cold.

White reinforced walls, thick energy cables running along the ceiling, and multiple holographic screens displaying complex seal algorithms.

At the center of the facility stood several Containment Chambers, each one housing a specialized Seal Regulator Device.

Metal frames locked them in place, while blue and crimson energy lines pulsed steadily through transparent cores.

The guards couldn't perceive him at all—

the ornate cloak completely erased his presence from existence.

Number Seven stood still, silently observing the facility,

carefully examining every detail with calm, focused eyes.

Then he spoke, his voice gentle, relaxed… almost kind.

"At last… the target is right in front of me."

"There isn't much time left now."

"Soon, you'll regain your freedom… my brother."

"Number One..."

The air felt heavier in his presence, charged with quiet tension.

Even the seals seemed to hum differently, as if acknowledging his arrival.

And then… silence.

The chapter ended here.
