Chapter 5 - Chapter 5: Encountering the Hilichurls

After waving goodbye to the "enthusiastic" older brother, Bai Mo continued on his way in the direction he had been pointed.

Shortly after Bai Mo left, four figures appeared beside the older brother.

"Fourth Brother, what's going on? Why did you let him go?"

"Boss, that guy is someone we can't afford to mess with. He's going to join his relatives!"

"So what if he's joining relatives? What's so special about that?"

"His relatives are the Qixing of Liyue..."

The scene fell silent for a moment. The boss pulled out a map from his pocket and said, "Let's see where we can dig for amber. The price of amber in Liyue has been skyrocketing lately. We could make a fortune!"

"Sounds good to me!"

"Right, right! Digging for amber is much better than robbery—more honorable too!"

"Same here!"

Meanwhile, on the road to Liyue Harbor, Bai Mo was happily munching on an apple.

The apples in this world were juicy, crisp, and exceptionally delicious—far superior to those in his original world.

Perhaps because this world was filled with elemental energy, the food here also contained much higher levels of nourishment.

Three bites for an apple, two bites for a sunsettia, one bite for a berry—after devouring most of the foraged ingredients, Bai Mo finally spotted a main road from the low hill.

According to the older brother's directions, once he saw the main road, heading south would lead him to Liyue Harbor.

Sliding down the hill, Bai Mo landed lightly at the base and continued along the road. After about ten minutes, he saw a group of short, dark-skinned creatures attacking a merchant convoy in the distance.

Judging by their masks, these must be the so-called Hilichurls.

Due to the Heavenly Principles' curse of immortality in this world and the ley lines' ability to preserve all memories, monsters like Hilichurls would eventually regenerate from the ley lines after a certain period.

This was also the in-game explanation for the respawn mechanic.

But in this real world, Bai Mo wasn't entirely sure how the mechanism worked. Still, he felt no mercy for the Hilichurls, who had long lost most of their intelligence.

Seeing the convoy guards struggling to hold their ground, Bai Mo immediately drew his blade and charged.

Sure enough, it's different from the game!

After decapitating a wooden club-wielding Hilichurl with a single slash, Bai Mo glanced at the corpse left behind and pondered.

In this real world, weak point attacks were indeed a thing.

In that case, there was no need to hold back.

The longsword in Bai Mo's hand was just an ordinary alloy blade—nothing compared to the divine weapons of this world.

But for bullying Hilichurls? More than enough!

The bioelectricity generated by his electromagnetic martial arts surged through his body, accelerating the friction between his cells and boosting his speed even further.

Within three breaths, seven Hilichurls had been beheaded.

At the sight of this, the remaining Hilichurls let out panicked cries. Soon, a massive Hilichurl Berserker wielding a giant axe came charging from the distance, followed by four or five Hilichurl Shooters.

Standing over two meters tall, the Hilichurl Berserker piqued Bai Mo's competitive spirit.

Ever since he began practicing the electromagnetic martial arts from Hokuto no Ken (Fist of the North Star), he had rarely found worthy opponents in his original world.

But now, this Berserker seemed like a decent challenge!

Facing the charging Berserker, Bai Mo raised his blade and counter-charged.

Just as the Berserker lifted its axe to strike, Bai Mo suddenly slid beneath it, darting toward the Hilichurls behind it.

Amidst flashes of electricity, the five Hilichurl Shooters lost their heads before they could react.

Come on, even gamers know to clear out the minions first—especially the ranged DPS and damage dealers. Bai Mo wasn't about to forget that.

Naturally, he had to take out the shooters first.

Enraged by Bai Mo's "dishonorable" tactic of ignoring it to slaughter its underlings, the Berserker roared furiously and charged at him with a shoulder tackle.

Wait, were you also a trainee who practiced for two and a half years?

Dodging the Berserker's assault with ease, Bai Mo's blade crackled with electricity.

His current physical abilities weren't yet sufficient to achieve Magnetic Field Rotation, so he had to rely on external enhancements for now.

With the electric current amplifying its sharpness and penetrative power, Bai Mo's slash cleanly severed the Berserker's right arm in a single strike.

As the arm and axe thudded to the ground, the Berserker's fury only intensified.

With a deafening roar, the Berserker reached out with its remaining left hand, attempting to grab and crush Bai Mo.

But before it could even extend its arm, a thin red line appeared across its throat.

A moment later, blood gushed out like a fountain.

As the Berserker collapsed lifelessly, the remaining Hilichurls lost all will to fight and fled in panic.

Flicking the blood off his blade, Bai Mo stared thoughtfully at the Berserker's mask.

In this real world, did Hilichurl masks still hold any value?

Since he didn't need to collect materials for ascension, was there any point in gathering them?

Then, his gaze shifted to the iron axe still clutched in the Berserker's severed arm.

This axe was made of metal—could it sell for a couple hundred Mora?

While Bai Mo was lost in thought, the merchant convoy that had been under attack regrouped.

A man dressed as a merchant approached him.
