Robin enters the pitch. His first match. His first professional match. He is excited, but the score line doesn't sound exciting. Down 3-0. Even though the team showed character in the second half, it wasn't enough. Now, it's time for ROBIN SILVER to make a change.
"Young Robin Silver enters the pitch. 17 years old, already signed for North Port United, but shipped to North Wall FC to accommodate for another winger. Let's see if Robin Silver will prove his parent club wrong."
He filled the space in the Left-Wing position, waiting for the ball. The play resumes. Carlford has the ball, and they dazzle through the defense. Stilgar has been performing exceptionally well. He gets the ball, passes it to Jacky, and Jacky forces a shot, and it is saved.
Robin is observing Stilgar, he is reading his moves. Doyle notices Robin and tries to pass to him but it is intercepted. Robin sighs, even Doyle's passes are not working. The crowd was bored to death. Even though they didn't concede a goal in the last 17 minutes, they didn't force a good shot either.
Since coming on the pitch, Robin hasn't touched the ball. Carlford FC has too much possession. It's not good, but Robin has other opinions.
"Let them have the possession, I'll strike them when needed" Robin thought to himself.
Robin identifies space in the central attacking position (CAM), which is empty because of the early substitution. Robin goes to occupy his position hoping for a chance on the ball.
Stilgar is on loose, and he is sprinting towards the goal. Robin chases after him. No, he sprints after him with all his might. He needs to stop him.
Robin eventually catches up as other defenders lock Stilgar up. Stilgar passes to Jacky.
"Passing to your lover? He will pass it back obviously. I've got you figured out, Stilgar" Robin thought to himself as he still marked Stilgar, but not being seen completely.
As expected, Jacky passed one back to Stilgar, and while going up front, Robin tried to tackle Stilgar.
Nutmeg.
Stilgar nutmegged Robin and left him on the ground. The crowd went ouchhhhh.
Doyle gave him a pity look.
Robin? He hated being pitied the most. He got up, ran after Stilgar, grabbed his shoulder and punched him on the ground.
"OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH" The crowd are loving it.
Robin could hear the sound the exact moment Stilgar hit the ground. It was heavy.
"Robin not holding back. The coach won't be happy about it. But one's gotta admit that this 17 year old has balls" - The commentators
The crowd cheered at the tackle. Stilgar? He just smiled at the crowd.
The referee rushed to Robin, checking his pocket, taking out a yellow card and whistling.
"Ah! Yellow card on my debut? Cool." Robin grinned, watching the referee's hand rise.
The crowd booed the referee. But Robin knows it's fair.
The coach was fuming from the sidelines – internally. He is too much of a coward to express his feelings outside, raw and unfiltered.
Stilgar looked at Robin and then smirked at him. "That's a good tackle, kid"
Robin just stared. And nodded. Whispered "Thanks".
The captain Louis ran to Robin and patted him on the back. "Good tackle but be less reckless."
Robin wanted to scream "I'll be less reckless if your other defenders actually defended"
But he didn't, for obvious reasons.
Robin respected Louis, but not the other defender and fullbacks. He considered them ass.
Only a yellow was given because it is not a last man foul. The free kick was given to the opposition just outside the penalty area, but the angle is tough.
Stilgar stood at the spot, his eyes scanning for potential shooting areas.
"He is probably thinking of shooting it from below. Under the wall." Robin tried to predict as he stood in the wall formation. Doyle is next to him, standing left of him. Jules, the left back is standing right of him.
"Alright, Stilgar is taking the free kick. His free kick is amazing in the past years, will he score?"
"Here comes Stilgar."
Stilgar positioned to shoot. He did his walk and then shot the ball.
The ball curled behind Jules, just above him to get a touch, and then it landed in the top corner of the net.
"A goal! Oh my! Stilgar converts it. What an amazing goal. 2 assists and 1 goal for him tonight"
The crowd went silent. Similar to how Messi silenced stadiums. Or how Ronaldo silenced Barcelona in 2012.
Stilgar was celebrating in front of the fans.
Robin couldn't help but look up in despair.
His very first contribution ended up being a disaster.
He failed his fans. He failed them. That's what's been going through his mind.
Doyle patted him on the back. Pity.
"Stop showing pity!" Robin thought to himself. "He's just being nice... or is he trying to embarrass me? Fucking dimwit"
The play resumes.
It's 4-0 now.
It was easy judging the defenders while rotting on the bench.
Robin might not look like it, but he is internally screaming at himself.
Robin finally gets the ball in the build up play. He tries to get past his man, but stops, and then passes it to Doyle.
Doyle gets past one player, passes it to Lazaro, and Lazaro to Hugo, but he can not get it in time.
The opposition get the ball again.
"North Wall FC are getting dominated possession wise. "
Few minutes later, Robin gets the ball again, but this time, he gets past his man using his blistering pace, and then passes it to Doyle.
Doyle dribbles to the right and crosses it into the box. Hugo gets to the end of it and shoots, but not on target.
Robin to Doyle to Lazaro to Hugo. It was repeated quite a bit. The opposition might have figured it out.
It was minute 87.
Robin gets the ball. He gets past his man again using the pace, and tries a long ball to the Right Winger Lazaro. Robin just made a long pass from the left side of the pitch to the right side changing the tone of the play.
Lazaro, unmarked, gets the ball, tries some tricks and then passes it back to Doyle.
Doyle already left his place the very moment Robin didn't pass him and passed it to Lazaro.
Doyle's place is now occupied by Robin who cut in. Robin uses his pace, dribbles past another, and delivers a through ball to Doyle who is somehow in a better position than the striker.
Doyle takes the first touch well. He is now marked by 2 players. Instead of dribbling, Doyle shots with his right foot.
"Doyle with an amazing shot and the keeper saves it barely"
The ball bounced off the keeper and it is in air.
The free ball is going towards the Carlford's right back. It was all fine. He was not marked by any North Wall players.
By the time the ball is on normal level, someone blazed past their right back for the ball.
Robin.
He gets on the end of the free ball, controls it, then nutmegs the right back.
The crowd went "ooooh"
Robin then crossed it to Hugo, who got on the end of it, and shot.
It was blocked.
By hand.
The crowd shouted, rose.
"Penalty" The referee signaled, hand raised.
MEANWHILE ON X:
@NUFCF - Okay, I love Robin and his stupid gameplay.
