šŸ“š World Information: The Celestrian Calendar, Seasons, Measurement System & Ashport Infrastructure

Welcome to Celestria! For readers curious about the world's inner workings, here's a breakdown of the calendar, climate, measurements, and the structure of Ashport.

šŸ—“ļø The Celestrian Calendar

The Celestrian calendar marks time from the birth of Elandor the Ascendant, the legendary figure who uplifted humanity and became the symbolic start of modern civilization.

1 Aureval Orbit = 13 Nyxaral Cycles + 1 day

Each Nyxaral Cycle (lunar cycle) has 28 Rotations (days).

That's 365 Rotations per Orbit, plus:

Unity Day (a holiday unaligned with any cycle)

Every four Orbits, an extra day—Ascension Day—is added to align celestial rhythms.

This four-orbit period is called a Celestial Loop.

The final quartermoon (week) of the loop is Ascension Week, a time of global rest and reflection.

During this week, the Ascension Games are held to celebrate Elandor's legacy and humanity's potential.

Terminology:

A Quartermoon = 1 week (7 Rotations)

A Halfmoon = 1 fortnight (14 Rotations)

No traditional day names are used.

šŸŒ Celestria's Seasons and Sunlight

Celestria rotates on an axis nearly perpendicular (90°) to its orbit around Aurexia, its sun. This means:

Sunrise and sunset are constant, around 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM across the globe, regardless of season or location.

Seasons are global and determined by Celestria's elliptical orbit, not axial tilt.

Seasons & Start Dates:

🌱 Renewal (Spring): Begins C01 / R17

šŸ”„ Hot/Burn Season (Summer): Begins C04 / R25

šŸ‚ Death Season (Fall): Begins C08 / R04

ā„ļø Cold/Frost Season (Winter): Begins C11 / R11

Note: Ashport's climate is predominantly tropical. Only during the deep Cold Season does it dip below freezing—usually just at night, and only in some regions.

āš–ļø Weights, Measurements, and Temperature

Celestria uses the Solaran System, created during the golden age of the Empire of Solara. Most units are tied to Elandor and water:

šŸ“ Length

Elan (El): Equal to Elandor's height.(For comparison: 1 El ā‰ˆ 2 meters on Earth.)

āš–ļø Mass & Weight

Aqual (Aq): The mass of a 1x1x1 El cube of pure water.(ā‰ˆ 8,000 kg on Earth.)

Tonnel (Tl): The weight of one Aqual at sea level.

šŸŒ”ļø Temperature

Veylmark (V): A 100-point scale between water's freezing and boiling points.

0V = absolute zero

275V = freezing point of water (0°C)

375V = boiling point of water (100°C)

Conversion:Celsius = Veylmark – 275

šŸ™ļø Ashport's Infrastructure & Social Order

Ashport is the capital of the Dravaran Protectorate, built around a militarized hierarchy where power and protection define privilege.

The ruling class—military, police, and political elite—designed laws and infrastructure to make their lives easier… and everyone else's harder.

šŸš— Transportation & Road Laws

Ashport's interior (within the outer wall) has a highly controlled, tiered transportation system:

Sidewalks: Pedestrian-only

Bike Roads: Human-powered vehicles (bikes, rickshaws, etc.)

Main Roads: Powered vehicles only

Most citizens can't afford motorized transport due to:

Licensing fees

Storage taxes

Restricted access laws

These laws keep roads clear for the elite.

In addition:

šŸš‡ Subway System: Affordable and functional for the public.

šŸš Sky Mana Rail System: High-speed mana-powered transport used by the elite and commercial industries.

šŸš™ Mana Cars: Hybrid flying/road vehicles. Can switch between surface travel and mana rail. Very rare and expensive.

šŸŒ† Ashport Layout

Outer Wall: 24 KiloElons (48 km) from west to east.

Brinewatch District: 4 KEl (8 km) from the wall to its westernmost slum edge.

Outer Regions (Beyond the Wall): Dirt roads, informal markets, and lawless zones governed by community-made rules or brute force.
