Arthur's accusation hung in the air like a guillotine blade. I watched Fiona's face, catching the flash of panic in her eyes before she composed herself.
"How dare you!" she shrieked, clutching Caleb's arm. "Of course it was Caleb's baby! Who else's would it be?"
Arthur's smile was cold. "That's an interesting question, isn't it? One we could answer quite easily with a DNA test."
Vincent stepped forward, his face flushed with anger. "This is outrageous! My son is grieving the loss of his child, and you're trying to deflect blame from your gold-digging wife!"
"Gold-digging?" I couldn't hold back a bitter laugh. "That's rich coming from the man who's been embezzling company funds for years."
Cassandra gasped dramatically. "How dare you accuse my husband—"
"She dares because it's true," Arthur cut in, his voice dangerously soft. "Just like it's true that there was never any baby to begin with."
