Chapter 80 - [HP] 80: Perfect Draw

Louis had been looking forward to the Perfect Draw for quite some time, even though he had only learned the exact name of this tier a few days ago.

And today marked the first time he would actually use it.

"Just happened to get a free ten-draw as a reward. I'll give it a shot to see the quality before deciding whether to keep saving points," Louis said as he lay on the massive bed in the Room of Requirement's makeshift lounge, pulling up the system menu to start the draw.

> [You are using 10 Perfect Draw attempts]

> [Cost: 0 Trick Points (free draw used)]

> [Current balance: 84,920 Trick Points]

As the system notification appeared, a magnificent golden door opened before Louis. From it emerged a swirling vortex that sparkled with a crystal-like brilliance—exactly ten glowing lights emerged from the portal.

"Well, the flashy effects do match the tier," Louis muttered. "All that sparkle and dazzle…"

> [Draw complete. You've obtained the following items:]

> Misc Items: Shrink/Grow Light, Anywhere Door, Rainstorm Needle, Portable Self-Destruct Nuke

> Enhancement Items: Tara's Mask, Demonic Water Aura, Flame-Flame Fruit, Bug Arrow

> Skill Item: War Stomp

> Potion Item: Golden Silkworm King ×1

As expected of the Perfect Draw… Wait, didn't he say the same thing for the Premium Draw?

Still, Louis couldn't help but sigh in admiration.

The "junk items" from the Premium Draw tier had suddenly become absurdly powerful in this tier.

The Shrink/Grow Light and Anywhere Door were clearly from Doraemon, those famous gadgets from the future cat-robot. Louis had only recently joked about how his inventory of tools made him look like a blue raccoon cat—and karma hit faster than expected.

But both items were honestly pretty good—especially the Anywhere Door, which had a much wider range than Apparition, even if it wasn't as convenient in practice.

Louis took it out for a test. The door was a plain-looking, pink wooden door about 1.8 meters tall. As per instructions, he silently thought of his home's location, opened the door, and stepped through—

Only to still be inside the Room of Requirement.

"…Huh? It didn't work?" Louis turned around, confused, staring at the lonely doorframe behind him. He felt like a complete fool.

"Could it be... the Room of Requirement interfering?"

He pulled out the Shrink/Grow Light next. It looked like a regular flashlight with a switch in the middle—up for enlarge, down for shrink.

Louis aimed it at the Volumen Hydrargyrum and pushed the switch down, trying to shrink it.

The flashlight didn't even light up.

Louis's mouth twitched. Then he remembered: electronic devices didn't work inside Hogwarts.

Seriously? Not even 23rd-century high-tech gadgets could bypass this castle's magic-scrambling effect? Hogwarts really was broken in its own way.

So much for praising the utility of "misc items"—two were already dead on arrival.

Guess he'd have to try them again after leaving Hogwarts. If they worked, maybe he could let his parents mess around with them at home.

Next was the Rainstorm Needle. Louis initially thought it was a single needle, but it turned out to be a mechanical contraption—cylindrical, sealed at the back, with a honeycomb of holes at the front, packed with shimmering blue needle tips.

A disposable hidden weapon. No idea what its upper limit was.

Still, being included in the Perfect Draw's miscellaneous category probably meant it was highly effective. He'd have to test it on some unlucky soul in the future.

And that's it for the "misc" category. As for the "portable nuke"—come on, as if he'd ever actually seen one. Definitely skipping that.

Now onto the real highlight: the Enhancement Items. These didn't disappoint. Each one boasted incredible power.

Of course, such power always came with significant side effects.

Tara's Mask and Demonic Water Aura were old friends from the world of The Shadow Chronicles.

Tara's Mask granted the wearer immense physical strength and the ability to summon nine shadow soldier units from the Shadow Kingdom. However, it gradually corrupted the user's soul, eventually turning them into a literal "ghost."

Once worn, there was basically no saving the person. Louis, despite his proficiency in Qi Magic, didn't know the exact spell ingredients to remove the mask. If he couldn't take it off, he'd eventually become another Tara.

The Demonic Water Aura was similar—granted great power but also corroded the mind and intelligence. High power, high risk.

"Forget the Demonic Water Aura. Using it makes you basically a monster. But it's a shame to just toss Tara's Mask aside," Louis murmured as he examined the mask carefully.

Tara was the ruler of the Shadow Kingdom, and this mask granted command over its nine shadow tribes' undead ninja soldiers—all unique, skilled, and immortal.

The real danger was the identity loss after wearing it.

But who said the mask had to be worn?

Louis didn't need the enhanced physical strength. He was only interested in the summonable shadow army—excellent cannon fodder, and perfect for studying Qi Magic applications.

"High-quality meat shields. If I research them using Qi Magic, I might get some serious results," Louis said to himself as he stashed the mask.

The Demonic Water Aura came attached to a chunk of melon flesh—apparently the item used to subdue the water demon. The aura had settled on it as its final resting place.

Next was the Flame-Flame Fruit, from One Piece—a Logia-type Devil Fruit. Upon eating it, one gained control over fire and the ability to become flame itself, dodging physical attacks. But the catch: you could never touch seawater again, or you'd be completely powerless.

Fortunately, this world didn't have Seastone, so that wasn't a concern.

Still, the thing was said to taste absolutely awful—even worse than that.

"Guess I'll put it aside for now," Louis muttered, holding the flaming fruit-shaped object. "Can't enjoy life here if I can't go near the sea."

Finally, it was time for the item he looked forward to the most.

He picked up the last enhancement item—
