A Stand, from JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, is a manifestation of one's spiritual power.
Every Stand has the ability to interact with the physical world—some as delicately as a gentle breeze, others as devastating as a steamroller accompanied by a thunderous Muda muda muda!
Beyond these widely varied baseline abilities, each Stand also possesses a unique special power. Normally, Stand users have to discover this for themselves. But Louis was different—his Stand came with a system activation, complete with a built-in user manual.
[Stand: Faceless Phantom]
- Destructive Power: C
- Speed: B
- Range: A
- Stamina: A
- Precision: A
- Development Potential: C
These were the six stats of Louis's Stand.
Destructive Power measured its ability to physically affect matter—in plain terms, how strong it was. A C rank was comparable to a well-built adult male. So unfortunately, Louis's Stand wouldn't be going ora ora ora anytime soon.
Speed was B—about the running speed of a cheetah.
Range referred to how far the Stand could move from its user. An A here was either the theoretical maximum or simply meant unlimited. Faceless Phantom had an A in range, meaning it could act without any distance restriction.
Stamina indicated how long or how often the Stand could use its abilities. An A meant it could activate without cooldown or delay.
Precision at A rank meant the Stand could perform actions with perfect accuracy—clearly inheriting some of Louis's own strengths.
Development Potential reflected untapped abilities or room to grow. With a C, it was clear Faceless Phantom wasn't likely to evolve much further.
Now, as for its abilities…
- Ability 1: [Faceless] – Can transform into anyone. The more knowledge Louis has about the target, the more perfect the mimicry. While transformed, it gains 50% of the target's abilities and physical attributes. If it transforms into Louis, it can carry 70% of his abilities instead.
- Ability 2: [Stand Swap] – Instantly swaps places with the user.
- Ability 3: [Terror Mirror Doppelgänger] – The Stand enters a mirror and mimics the reflection's appearance and movements. Once synchronization is complete, it swaps places with the target for 24 hours.
- Ability 4: [Materialize Body] – Due to the user's immense spiritual strength, the Stand is visible to non-Stand users and can also choose to become invisible at will.
Flexible. Convenient. And laced with theatrical, flashy powers!
"Not bad," Louis mused, rubbing his chin—and across from him, the Faceless Phantom mirrored the gesture exactly. "This kind of Stand is perfect for scouting. Shame it's just a trial version… wonder when I'll get a "Bug(Requiem) Arrow."
The Bug Arrow was a legendary item that could grant Stand abilities. If someone with potential was pierced by it, they'd gain a Stand; if not, they'd die.
Louis estimated that such a system-generating artifact must at least be of Perfect rarity—possibly even Legendary. After all, every Stand had infinite potential. Dio Brando's Stand, The World, could stop time. With power like that, it made sense the Bug Arrow sat at the highest tiers.
"All right then. Time to explore the junk room," Louis said, commanding the Faceless Phantom to transform into Dio Brando.
Messy blond hair, an arrogant stance, a powerful physique, and the faint metallic tang of a vampire's presence—it was an exact match. Louis's memory recall made recreating an anime character from the past child's play.
Looking at the familiar vampire before him, Louis's expression flickered, and his perspective transferred into the Stand's body.
The sudden increase in height disoriented him slightly, but he quickly adjusted.
"Now then—The World!" Louis said, commanding the simulated Dio Brando body to activate its Stand power.
As the words fell, the surrounding world faded to a pale gray. Everything froze. Clocks stopped ticking.
Time had stopped.
A golden, ghostly Stand hovered silently behind the Dio Brando form. It was The World itself—its power activated.
However, the time stop lasted only two seconds before color returned and time resumed. Still, The World lingered behind "Dio."
A Stand using a Stand—now that's cool.
"As expected. Since a Stand's power is considered an 'ability,' Faceless Phantom can simulate even their Stand abilities when transforming into Stand users," Louis muttered thoughtfully. "Shame it's only at 50% strength."
The Dio-faced Louis showed a contemplative expression—and a wicked gleam in his eye that screamed villainy.
"Too bad teleportation has a cast time. Otherwise, I could have warped into the Room of Requirement during the time stop."
Oh well—can't be picky.
Louis marked a teleportation point on his real body, then commanded the Faceless Phantom to initiate teleportation.
Blue light spiraled into layered rings beneath "Dio Brando's" feet. Four seconds later, Louis—his vision anchored to the Stand—was engulfed in light and instantly transported into the junk storage room.
He barely had time to register the space when—
CRASH!
A towering stack of junk toppled from ceiling to floor.
> [You have completed the quest "Trick the Room of Requirement"]
> [Target was special—no Trick Points awarded]
> [Unlocked: Perfect Lottery Draw (2,000 Trick Points per draw)]
The room began to tremble violently. Louis didn't even glance at the repeated prompts—he looked up.
A massive crack split across the ceiling. Something was forcing its way in, merging with the room's structure.
Junk tumbled down from the newly formed rupture, only to be swiftly kicked aside by The World behind him. As a power-and-speed double-A Stand, clearing debris was as easy as a grandma blowing her nose—clean, swift, and brutal.
Still, this place was clearly dangerous.
Louis didn't hesitate. The mission was done—it was time to leave. He immediately activated the teleportation marker on his main body. The circle of light reappeared, just seconds away from extracting the Stand.
At that moment, more junk tumbled from the cracked ceiling.
Louis looked up—and was stunned to see a small room, like a hidden chamber, somehow merging into the junk room at a twisted angle. The falling debris came from inside that room.
More importantly, two familiar faces were cautiously peeking out from the gap.
They saw him.
Well… they saw Dio Brando.
Louis gave them a wicked, smug smile.
Then, with a flash of light, vanished from the Room of Requirement.
