Chapter 59 - [HP] 59: I Do Hold Grudges

The effects of the genetic serum were no joke—it definitely made Fafnir smarter… but also more vain.

Ignoring Fafnir's protests, Louis stuffed the little show-off back into his cage, covering him with a cloth as he tried to flex his muscles. Then he sat down on the couch, ready to try his luck at a draw.

A "Fate Draw"—just the name sounded fancy. Surely whatever came from it would be top-tier, right? No way something more chaotic than the T-virus could pop out, right?

Rubbing his hands together, Louis focused his mind and initiated the draw.

> [Fate Draw Initiated]

> [Fate Points Consumed: 10]

> [Beginning Draw…]

Suddenly, countless glistening threads appeared before Louis's eyes, weaving together in intricate, shimmering patterns like a tapestry of destiny.

He could faintly hear the whirring of a phantom wheel turning, and endless threads streamed in from some unknown space, feeding into the woven fabric.

Then, the scene before him dimmed, and a brilliant point of light descended before Louis—it was a pair of eyes, filled with countless stars, like an entire galaxy locked within each one.

> [You have obtained: Eyes of Fate Observation (One Pair)]

> [Eyes of Fate Observation: Allows the user to perceive the flow of fate and grants the highest-level talents in all prophecy-related fields. Comes with ability inheritance—once absorbed, you retain the ability of these eyes and push it to its maximum limit.]

Staring at the crystal-clear pair of eyes in his hands, Louis felt a chill run down his spine. He sucked in a sharp breath.

Even ignoring the ability to observe fate or the prophecy-related talents, just being able to boost his eye abilities to their limit was terrifying.

"So you're telling me… if I absorb these, my Sharingan's genjutsu and copying abilities would reach Rinnegan levels?" Louis nearly couldn't stop himself from installing them right then and there.

"No… using them like this would be a waste." At the last second, he reined himself in.

The Eyes of Fate Observation would boost a pair of eyes to their limit. But his right eye currently had no powers. Using them now would essentially waste half the boost.

"Best case scenario? I pull another powerful eye, then fuse the two and absorb them together. Maximum profit."

With that in mind, Louis gave up on saving points for a higher-tier draw. Seeing how many points he still had, he jumped straight into a 10x premium draw.

> [10 Premium Draws Initiated – Cost: 5000 Trick Points. Remaining: 11,920 Points]

> [You obtained: Plasma Grenade x3]

> [You obtained: Gauss Rifle x1]

> [You obtained: Mass-Production Combat Exosuit x1]

> [You obtained: …]

One after another, high-tech equipment dropped in. Louis casually threw them all into his storage space.

Another 10x draw!

> [10 Premium Draws Initiated – Cost: 5000 Trick Points. Remaining: 6,920 Points]

> [You obtained: Holy Relics x5]

> [You obtained: Mystic Eye of Distortion (System Fusion Version)]

> [You obtained: Mystic Code – Mooncell Mercury]

> [You obtained: Mana-infused Gemstones x3]

Louis's luck was solid. On the second 10x pull, he got exactly what he wanted—another eye-type item.

The Mystic Eye of Distortion came from the Type-Moon universe's Kara no Kyōkai (The Garden of Sinners). It granted the ability to twist everything the user saw. Normally, the left eye twisted left, the right eye twisted right—used together, it could snap a target in two.

But the system had merged its powers into one eye, allowing full control over the twisting effect with either eye. It was absolutely overpowered.

Louis hadn't expected to pull something this insane from a premium draw.

As for the Mooncell Mercury Mystic Code, also from the Fate universe (Lord El-Melloi II Case Files), it looked like a glob of flowing mercury. It could shift forms for [tracking], [defense], and [offense] at the user's command—a versatile and powerful tool.

The remaining two rewards, however, were more fluff than function. Though also from the Type-Moon universe, the mana-infused gemstones required specific gem-based magecraft, and the holy relics only worked if you had an entire Servant setup. Rare, yes, but practically junk.

Still, Louis was satisfied—he'd pulled what he needed. He had been mentally prepared to delay absorbing the Eyes of Fate Observation, but now he didn't have to.

"Alright then—absorb the Mystic Eye of Distortion first, then use the Eyes of Fate Observation."

Louis brought the prismatic, iridescent eye closer to his right eye. With a surge of sharp pain, the Mystic Eye of Distortion wriggled like a living creature and devoured his original right eye, merging into its place.

The pain came fast and left fast. Louis's face turned pale momentarily, and his right eye went completely blind.

Then, slowly, as the Mystic Eye of Distortion finished connecting with his brain, his vision returned.

And in that exact moment, Louis turned his gaze to the dormitory door.

CRASH!

With an explosive noise and a spray of wooden debris, the doorframe twisted, the wooden door shattered—it had been completely destroyed by the Mystic Eye of Distortion's power.

On the other side, Draco Malfoy stood frozen mid-step, hand raised to knock. His eyes were wide, his hand trembling.

Louis quickly shut his right eye. He wasn't fully in control of its power yet and had accidentally activated its twisting ability.

Fortunately, no one had been hurt. But judging by the look on Malfoy's face, he'd just been scared out of his skin.

"Sorry about that. I was just experimenting with a new spell—didn't hurt you, did I?" Louis asked politely, not lashing out despite Malfoy having wronged him.

After all, Louis wasn't that petty. He preferred to settle scores on the spot—and once that was done, they could go back to being classmates.

But clearly, Malfoy wasn't on the same page. His lips trembled, hand still frozen in midair like a statue.

"I-I'm fine…" he stammered, slowly backing away to his bed like a frightened child.

The twisted door lay shattered on the ground, utterly destroyed.

"Oh right, Malfoy—what happened to those upper-year students who got sent to the infirmary?" Louis asked with a smile, keeping his right eye shut. "Were their injuries serious?"

Malfoy stiffly shook his head. "N-not really. Just surface wounds. They've already healed. Professor McGonagall took them away… for detention."

"I see… that's a bit of a shame," Louis said casually. "Well, be sure to pass on a message when you see them: tell them to fix our dorm door."

"Otherwise, I will retaliate."

"I haven't forgotten that they sabotaged my broom and nearly got me killed."
