Chapter 63 - Broken Beyond Words

Aanya was on a call with her friends, her voice trembling as she told them everything.

Tara was the first to speak.

"Now what will you do?"

Aanya sighed helplessly.

"I don't even understand what to do. I can't tell my parents that I like Mr. Aryan."

Nisha immediately said,

"Then tell Aryan."

Aanya paused.

"What? Tell Mr. Aryan?"

Meera supported the idea.

"Yes, Aanya. If you tell him, maybe he will sort everything out."

Tara disagreed.

"No, no… I don't think that's a good idea."

Meera frowned. "Why?"

Tara explained,

"I mean, recently only Prerna's wedding got called off. Aryan was already angry because of all that. What if he misunderstands again?"

Aanya thought for a moment.

"No… I think it is a good idea. Yesterday, he didn't want me to leave. If he was angry at me, why would he stop me?"

Her voice carried hope.

Tara sighed.

"Okay… but when will you tell him? This isn't something you can say over the phone. And tomorrow Kunal's family is coming. What will you do?"

Aanya took a deep breath.

"I'll tell him today."

Nisha asked, "How?"

"I'll go to his house."

"What?!" Meera exclaimed. "You're coming to Mumbai? How?"

"It's already 1 PM. I'll book a cab now. I'll reach there by 4 or 5Pm.

Tara sounded worried.

"What about your family? And his family? What will you say if they ask?"

Aanya replied firmly,

"I'll just say I left some of my things there, so I went to pick them up. I can say anything. That doesn't matter. The only important thing is Mr. Aryan's answer."

There was silence for a moment.

"Okay, guys. I'll book a cab now."

"Good luck," Meera and Nisha said together.

Tara hesitated but finally said softly,

"Be careful."

"Thank you," Aanya replied and cut the call.

She immediately booked a cab and started getting ready.

Meanwhile – Mehra House

The doorbell rang.

Devika opened the door.

A young man stood there.

"Hello, aunty."

Devika looked confused.

"Yes? Who are you?"

"I'm Aahil."

Devika's expression changed instantly after hearing his name.

"Can I come in?" he asked politely.

She hesitated… but stepped aside.

They both sat down in the living room.

"Aunty, I think you know who I am. And I also know you are not happy seeing me here."

Devika turned her face slightly away.

Aahil continued sincerely,

"Aunty, Prerna and I have been in a relationship for one year."

Devika looked at him seriously.

"I know you are angry because of what happened. But it wasn't Prerna's fault. My family insisted that she come to the hospital to see me."

Devika listened silently.

"Prerna never wanted to hurt you or her brother. But aunty, if that marriage had happened… she would never have been happy. Nor would the man she was marrying. And neither would I."

Just then, Nandini walked in.

"Devika, who is he?"

Aahil stood up politely.

"Hello, aunty. My name is Aahil."

Nandini's expression hardened.

She turned to Devika sharply.

"Is he the boy Prerna likes? What is he doing here? Why did you let him inside?"

Aahil tried to explain.

"Aunty, I know you are angry. But I promise, I will keep Prerna happy."

Before he could continue, Nandini snapped,

"Who is even talking to you? First, leave this house!"

Her voice echoed loudly.

Hearing the noise, Prerna came downstairs.

She stopped midway when she saw him.

"Aahil…?"

Everyone turned toward her.

Aahil looked at her with relief and a soft smile.

"Prerna…" he said gently.

Seeing this, Nandini's face darkened.

Without saying a word, she turned and walked straight to her room.

She closed the door and began thinking seriously.

This is not good… What should I do now?

After a few seconds, she muttered to herself,

"I need to call Aryan."

She quickly dialed his number.

Meanwhile – At the Office

Aryan stepped out of his cabin and noticed employees whispering among themselves.

His mood was already bad.

Suddenly he shouted,

"What is happening here? Do you think this is some kind of picnic spot? Or did you all come here to work?"

The entire floor fell silent instantly.

"If I see anyone doing anything other than work," he continued coldly, "I will not be easy on them."

Just then, his phone rang.

He glanced at the screen.

Nandini calling.

He ignored it.

The phone rang again.

At the Mehra house, Nandini grew restless.

"Why isn't he answering?" she muttered.

She called again… and again.

Finally, Aryan picked up.

"What is it?" he asked impatiently.

"Aryan," Nandini said urgently, "that boy came."

Aryan frowned. "Who?"

"The boy your sister likes."

Aryan's expression changed instantly.

"What?"

"You need to come home immediately," Nandini insisted.

Before she could say anything more, Aryan cut the call.

He grabbed his car keys and walked out of the office without another word.

Meanwhile – At Aanya's House

A cab stopped outside the house.

Radha noticed it from the window and came out of the room.

She saw Aanya coming downstairs, dressed and ready.

"Why are you dressed up? Where are you going?" Radha asked suspiciously.

Aanya spoke quickly, avoiding eye contact.

"Mom, I need to go somewhere. I'll tell you later, okay? Bye!"

She rushed outside.

"Aanya, wait! You haven't even eaten lunch!" Radha called out.

But Aanya was already inside the cab.

Just then, Naveen came out.

"What happened?"

"Your daughter just left without telling us where she's going!" Radha complained.

Naveen remained calm.

"Don't worry. She'll come back."

Radha looked irritated.

"She's becoming too bold… just because of you."

Naveen frowned. "What did I do now?"

Radha shook her head and walked away.

At the Mehra house, Prerna slowly walked down the stairs.

"Aahil… when did you get discharged?" she asked, worry evident in her voice.

"Just this morning," Aahil replied gently.

Prerna glanced at Devika and became quiet.

Aahil looked at Devika sincerely.

"Aunty, I know our families are very different. But the most important thing is that we love each other. I can't live without Prerna."

Prerna looked at him with teary eyes.

Devika stood silent, thinking deeply.

"Aunty," Aahil continued, "please accept our relationship. I promise I will always keep Prerna happy."

Prerna gathered courage.

"Mom… I know you don't even want to talk to me. But please… Aahil is a nice person. And I really love him."

Suddenly—

"PRERNA!"

A loud, furious voice echoed in the house.

Everyone turned.

Aryan had entered.

Hearing his voice, Nandini also came out of her room.

"Aryan…" Devika whispered.

"Bhai…" Prerna said nervously.

Aahil looked at Aryan and gave a respectful smile.

Aryan walked toward him with cold, controlled anger.

"Hello, Aryan ji," Aahil said politely. "I'm Aahil. Prerna and I love each other. I came here to ask for your permission to marry your sister."

Before anyone could react—

Aryan grabbed Aahil by his collar.

"How dare you say that you will marry my sister?" he shouted.

"Bhai! What are you doing?" Prerna cried.

"Aryan ji, I just—" Aahil tried to speak.

"I know your type," Aryan interrupted harshly. "First you check if the girl is rich. If she is, you act like you love her."

Aahil shook his head desperately.

"No! I truly love Prerna!"

"Bhai, please—" Prerna pleaded.

"You don't talk in between!" Aryan snapped at her.

Prerna went silent, hurt flashing across her face.

Aryan's voice grew colder.

"I never thought my own sister would do something like this… fall in love with a useless fellow."

Prerna's eyes filled with tears.

"Mr. Aryan Mehra, you are thinking wrong. I am not using your sister. I truly love her. And it would be better if you remove your hand from my collar."

Aryan's grip tightened.

"I don't care," he said coldly. "You will never come to my house again. If you do… you won't find anyone worse than me."

Prerna looked terrified.

Prerna looked terrified.

"Bhai, please…"

Aahil's jaw hardened.

"Then listen to me carefully, Mr. Aryan Mehra. I don't accept defeat. I will definitely marry your sister."

Nandini's eyes widened in shock.

Aryan stared at him with burning anger.

For a second, it looked like he would punch him.

He raised his hand—

"Bhai! Please don't!" Prerna cried, rushing forward and holding his arm.

Aryan turned toward her, furious.

"YOU don't call me 'Bhai'!"

Prerna stepped back.

Without another word, Aryan dragged Aahil by his collar toward the door.

"Aryan!" Devika shouted, running behind them.

Aryan pulled the door open and pushed Aahil outside.

"Get out!"

"Bhai, please don't!" Prerna cried.

Aryan turned, his eyes burning with anger.

"I will never let my sister marry him. No matter what happens!"

Prerna broke down.

Outside, Aahil shouted back,

"And no matter what happens, I will not accept defeat!"

Aryan slammed the door shut.

Silence filled the house.

For a few seconds, no one spoke.

Then Prerna's trembling voice broke it.

"Bhai… what did you just do?"

Aryan turned toward her.

"Why can't you accept our relationship?" she cried.

"Accept your relationship?" Aryan said sharply. "Do you even know how men are nowadays? Do you know how they use women?"

"Aahil is not like that!" Prerna shouted.

"Yes, he is!" Aryan replied coldly.

Prerna went silent, tears flowing endlessly.

"No matter what you say," Aryan continued, "I will never accept this relationship."

Prerna looked at him with deep hurt in her eyes.

Without saying another word, she ran upstairs to her room.

Devika watched her go, worried.

Aryan turned to his mother.

"Mom, why did you allow him inside?"

Devika looked at him seriously.

"And why are you overreacting like this?"

"Mom, I'm not overreacting. He is just fooling Prerna," Aryan said firmly.

"And I will handle him in my own way."

Do you think shouting and dragging him out by his collar was the right way to handle it?"

"Mom, I just did what I had to do. We don't know—"

Suddenly—

A loud sound of glass breaking came from upstairs.

Everyone froze.

Aryan's heart skipped.

"Prerna!"

They all rushed upstairs.

Her door was locked.

Aryan and Devika began knocking frantically.

"Prerna! Open the door!" Aryan shouted.

"Prerna beta, what was that sound? Open the door!" Devika cried.

Even Nandini called out nervously, "Prerna, open the door!"

Devika's voice shook.

"Aryan… she's not responding."

Aryan stepped back.

"Everyone move."

He kicked the door once.

Twice.

On the third attempt, the door broke open.

They rushed inside—

And froze.

Devika screamed.

"PRERNA!"

Prerna was lying on the floor.

A broken glass piece lay beside her.

Her wrist was cut.

Blood was everywhere.

Devika ran to her, falling to her knees.

"Prerna! Prerna! Open your eyes!" she cried, shaking her gently.

Nandini came closer, shocked.

"Oh no… so much blood…"

"Aryan! Call an ambulance!" Nandini shouted.

But Aryan stood frozen.

His world had stopped.

Devika screamed again,

"Aryan!"

Suddenly, he snapped back to reality.

With trembling hands, he pulled out his phone and called the ambulance.
