Chapter 6 - CHAPTER 7

Chapter 7: Fire in the Roots, Power in the BondsI. Morning Aftermath

Dawn spilled gold across Camp Half‑Blood. A hush lingered as murmurs followed Goku—tail swaying—as he stepped into the clearing.

Annabeth fell in step beside him. "You slept okay?" she asked softly, voice tinged with awe.

Goku nodded, eyes lingering on the fire pit. "Best sleep I've had in ages."

The pit's embers glowed faintly, recalling the offering's blaze. A satyr paused, brow furrowed. "Did that stay lit all night?"

Nico appeared, voice low. "The fire… it answers truthfully. It responded to him—for Hera, Hestia, and everyone."

In the mess hall, Ares cabin kids stared at Goku. Clarisse's jaw clenched, but Thalia shrugged."He's not asking for a fight," she muttered.

Counselor's Council

The Big House filled with Chiron, Annabeth, Piper, Will, Clarisse, Thalia.

Chiron spoke, tone heavy. "Goku's presence raises questions—especially Hera claiming him publicly."

Clarisse slammed her staff. "He flips guys with his tail. That's insane."

Annabeth pressed, "He offered to multiple gods. That offering—there was power behind it."

Will nodded. "He's kind. He offered hope. That's... important."

Piper added, "Zeus didn't like it. He looked angry when Hera introduced him."

Chiron's eyes darkened. "We should watch him—protect him—until we understand his place here."

 Zeus's Hidden Scheme

High on Olympus at midday, Zeus retreated to his private chambers with Ares and Hermes.

The chamber was silent save for soft rustling—

Zeus (voice low, careful): "She paraded him before Olympus… claimed him as Hera's. That cannot stand."

Ares bristled. "He's powerful. Dangerous."

Zeus nodded. "I will test him. If he falters—he leaves Camp. Permanently."A pause. His eyes focused.

Zeus (voice almost a whisper): "And if he oversteps—if he resists—Hercules will… deal with him. Discreetly."

Ares nodded. Hesitation flickered in his eyes, but he didn't dispute.

Zeus turned away, voice cold.Zeus: "For the sake of Olympus."

 Training & Strategy

Annabeth led Goku through combat drills at dusk.

Annabeth (breathing fast): "Block expecting the strike."

Goku ducked, glancing at her blade. "I just... flow."

She jabbed again—he sidestepped like air.

Annabeth frowned, wiping sweat. "Fluid is good. But intention matters too."

He cocked his head, curious. "Intention?"

She narrowed her eyes. "Purpose."

He mimicked her stance—deliberate and steady. As he parried, clarity flickered in his grin.

 Hunters vs. Campers Match

The field was alive with cheering campers and silent Hunters.

Goku cheered loudly, popcorn in hand, eyes bright.

Percy jogged by. "Backing the side lines?"

Goku laughed. "I like watching you."

Annabeth leaned forward, eyes dancing. "He's insufferable—but hopeful."

Clashing swords and arrows filled the twilight field. Hunters showed grace; campers showed heart. Goku cheered louder when a camper scored.

Zoe Nightshade's gaze held quiet interest—something unspoken glimmered in her bronze eyes.

Divine Warning: Artemis Missing & Percy's Prophecy

Night cloaked the camp when Hermes appeared, urgency in every step.

He found Percy, Annabeth, Thalia, Piper, and Goku by the fire pit.

Hermes (voice tight): "Artemis is missing—captured by an unknown force. And… Goku's fire tending—earth tremors in Root."

He paused. Percy, he said softly. "A prophecy has come. You lead the rescue."

Percy's face drained. Annabeth gripped his arm. Goku felt his chest thunder, heart echoing Tremors in the Root.

Percy (voice steady): "I'll go."

Hermes nodded. "At dawn—Hunters and Campers go west. Goku… you stay."

He lifted a hand. "Understood."

 Quiet by the Lake

Moonlight painted the lake silver as Goku and Nico sat silent.

Nico stared at rippling water. "I was alone once."

Goku offered another pebble. "You're not now."

Nico's voice shook. "No one claimed me. But you—your fire—people see you."

Goku stared at reflections. "I don't know who I am. But I like it here."

They shared a quiet moment—friendship blooming in night's calm.

Campfire Omen

Later, Willow the lorekeeper watched the fire pit. Ash glowed pale green.

Willow (voice hushed): "The earth whispers. Something stirrs beneath."

A breeze rattled leaves. Tension hummed—deeper than camp gossip.

 Final Glance

Goku climbed the hill by cabins, wind caressing his face. Tail arced.

He stared up—three shadows observed him: Hestia by first-light hearth, Hera in Olympian gloom, Artemis unseen among stars.

He closed his eyes. The night felt heavy—prophecy, threat, the pull of Root.

Then his lips curved.

Goku (whisper): "I like it here."

The wind stilled—listening
