Chapter 189 - Report, Alucard Has Attacked.

GRAAAGHH!!!

Before the Gorosei in the office could even make out what the blood pool rising from the island was, they saw hundreds of rampaging monsters surge out of the smoke and dust from the falling islands.

Whether it was a mantis even more grotesque than an elephant, or a chimera with a horse's head and a tiger's body, these creatures, which would have been a rare sight in the outside world, now shared one common trait: they were all completely berserk.

Before the dumbfounded eyes of the agents at the gates of Mariejois, the monsters charging from the islands began to be enveloped in red plasma. Their sizes visibly increased. In less than half a minute, they were completely transformed, looking like fiendish beasts from hell, making everyone want to flee.

"That's..." The elder with long silver hair saw the monsters rushing towards Mariejois and suddenly recalled an experimental report Vegapunk had submitted before Roger became the Pirate King.

It was about creating biological monsters with Alucard's unique cells. Animals or people who were infected gained an unimaginable increase in power, but at the cost of losing their minds and becoming monsters that only knew destruction and slaughter.

Because of this, the Government had once tried to capture Alucard alive to develop an army of immortal soldiers. That was why his first bounty poster had the words "Capture Alive Only."

But later, Alucard's actions became more and more outrageous, and his threat to the Government grew larger. The words "Capture Alive Only" could no longer be put on his bounty poster. The plan to study him was temporarily abandoned, and their full efforts were put into eliminating him instead.

He hadn't expected that after nearly ten years, these monsters infected by Alucard's cells would attack the Government itself.

"As expected, Alucard and the Shiki have teamed up..." The elder with the sword gave a cold, sharp look. "Alucard should be in there as well. Tell the Marines to send reinforcements, and the Government will also resist."

With his words, the other four Gorosei began to take action. The sword-wielding elder, with a glint in his eyes beneath his spectacles, cast one last glance at the image on the visual Den Den Mushi. "Alucard the Immortal... Daring to invade the World Government alone... I'll see if you are truly immortal this time!"

....

Far away on the Red Line, thousands of meters from Mariejois, at the back of the rampaging monsters, Alucard leaped onto a giant, Blacklight-infected bird, staring at the white, palace-like building that stood in the clouds in the distance.

"So that's Mariejois... It's as beautiful as I imagined." Alucard tilted his head down slightly and grinned. "My decision was the right one..."

....

Marineford.

Sengoku's tactics were completely logical. He used the three strongest Logia Vice Admirals to deal with Kaido, suppressing him for the time being. While they couldn't win, it avoided the worst-case scenario.

This way, they could immediately discover the landing point of the Golden Lion Fleet. If the fleet appeared from the clouds, the Marines would use the island's cannons to blow them out of the sky.

As a result, both sides were at a standstill.

The most intense fight was between Kaido and the three Logia Vice Admirals.

Inside the Fleet Admiral's office, a civilian clerk, without even knocking, rushed into the office with a Den Den Mushi that looked like an old man with a white mustache. He nervously said to Kong, who was stationed there, "So-so-sorry, Fleet Admiral, this, this is..."

"Hmm?" When he saw the Den Den Mushi in the clerk's hand, Kong's eyes narrowed. This old Den Den Mushi with a white, curved mustache was the exclusive communication Den Den Mushi for the Gorosei! It was always kept in his room because calling it usually meant top-secret information that wouldn't be announced publicly.

"So-sorry, sir. Your aide said this Den Den Mushi wouldn't stop ringing, so we brought it to you immediately," the clerk apologized.

Normally, when the Gorosei gave orders, it was a very formal process, with members of the CP organization delivering them. The last time this Den Den Mushi was used... was apparently during the great battle between Roger and Shiki at the Edd War.

Kong connected the Den Den Mushi without a word. An elderly man's voice immediately came through, and Kong instantly recognized it as the voice of the long-haired Gorosei.

"Kong, send a portion of the Marine forces to reinforce Mariejois. Alucard has attacked."

With just that one sentence, the Gorosei on the other end hung up. One could tell how urgent the situation was over there. After hanging up, Kong left the office in shock, looking toward Mariejois in the distance. Although it was close, it wasn't close enough to see the situation with the naked eye.

The numerous deputies beside Kong were also too shocked to speak.

Although they had received a report from Admiral Sengoku a few minutes ago, they knew Alucard was likely playing the role of an "ally" in Shiki's attack on Marineford. But nearly every Marine had guessed that Alucard would be like Shiki, sitting on the Golden Lion Fleet's ships in the sky.

Who would have guessed he would go and attack the World Government himself?

"He said Alucard, not 'Alucard and Shiki'... Does that mean Shiki is still up there?" Kong muttered to himself, looking at the sky.

Within the dark clouds, even with Observation Haki, without reaching the level of being able to hear all things like Roger, it was impossible to perceive what was happening thousands of meters above.

"Huh?"

Even Kong could only vaguely sense something up there when he focused all his power.

"Fleet Admiral, what do we do now?"

"Don't be ridiculous! The Gorosei have given their orders. Of course, we send people to support the Government!"

"But we're currently on full standby. The Golden Lion is also watching us from the sky. How can we withdraw our troops at a time like this?"

At that moment, several of Kong's deputies began to argue. Some believed they should follow the Gorosei's orders and immediately send reinforcements to Mariejois, while others believed the Marines didn't have enough people themselves, so where would they get the extra troops to help the Government?
