Chapter 7 - 007

"Marcus.." I said in a hushed tone.

"It's been a while." His deep but gentle voice boomed through the phone, making me shiver in suspense.

"Y..yes.. it's been a while." I stammered.

All of a sudden, I'm feeling skittish. I should be elated, it's been a while since I last saw him, since I last heard his oddly comforting voice.

Or am I this way because I missed him so much?

"You used the card I gave you years ago. Why's that??" He suddenly asked.

My movements stilled as my mind processed his question. How did he know?? Why wouldn't he? The card is his. Is this the reason he called me?

I should have known.. we haven't spoken for years and he reached out to me all of a sudden. I thought he missed me but I was wrong. I felt devastated at the reality.

"I had mistaken the card as mine when I was leaving the house so I decided to use it rather than having go back to fetch mine." I lied without blinking.

"I'll refund the money I used."

It's been years but I don't want him to keep seeing me as someone frail and vulnerable, someone who always needed his help. He thinks I'm doing better so I should be.

His deep laughs boomed through the phone; "I never asked for a refund. Like I said, you are free to use it if you ever need out." He reminded.

"If you need more support, I'm willing to offer it." His words were reassuring and almost made me tear up. Fuck, I miss him so much.

"No.. thank you. I can do it on my own." As enticing as it was, I had to decline.

I didn't want to rely on anyone anymore. I wanted to grow through my own abilities, to be the best version of myself through my guidance.

I could picture Marcus' amused smile; "That's the Avery I know. Whatever it is that you're going through at the moment, I'm sure you'll come out of it stronger. I believe in you."

His soft and honeyed words gave me a fluttering feeling. The little things he does never fails to fill me with a nervous energy, making me weak to the bones.

That night, I had a relaxing sleep. For the first time in a while, I didn't have any nightmare of me drawing my last breath in a pool of my own blood or a silver blade buried deep in my chest.

As the sleep got more soothing, it was suddenly disrupted by my ringing doorbell.

My eyes snapped open in vexation. Who's disturbing me this late at night? Haven't I had enough visitors today? How bothersome.

I put on a robe to cover my exposed night dress as I ambled towards the door. Without checking who it was through the security screen, I pulled the door handle open.

My heart skipped a beat when I saw him, standing in his full glory. His green orbs sparkled with an inner light, drawing me in with his mesmerizing gaze.

They appeared to hold a depth that was hard to look away from, like a tranquil forest glade or shimmering emerald.

"Marcus... what are you doing here?" I asked in a rasp voice.

"I missed you." He answered, his gaze not wavering for a single moment.

His transparent confession made me at loss for words.

"Don't you miss me too?" He asked as he moved closer to me. His gaze on me was hyponotizing, leaving me spellbound.

"I..I..." All of a sudden, his warm lips were on mine, muting my words.

I shut my eyes as a surge of bliss passed through me. I felt his hands moved to the back of my head as he pulled my face closer to his. I sighed softly, my lips moving rhythmically with his.

His other other moved downwards, gently resting on my waist like it belonged there. He pulled me closer, making our body flushed against each other's.

I felt the heat from his body pass down to mine, the fast beating of his heart as the kiss became hotter and the little shivers his body made anytime I touched him.

Then, he pulled away. His lips had a dark shade of pink from our tender moment.

"Won't you invite me in." His eyes had a piercing yet, subtle stare.

"Ye..yess.." That was all that was needed. He gently pushed me into the penthouse, shutting the door behind him.

He sat down on the couch and pulled me to straddle his his torso. I took my place on him like it was my throne.

Then, the kisses continued but this time, they were on my neck and the exposed skin on my chest. He trailed wet, sloppy kisses around my sensitive area, making me moan out in euphoria.

His kisses went deeper, I started to feel his teeth on a soft spot underneath my ear. Louder moans escaped my mouth as I felt like I was in cloud nine.

My body was responding so well to him like he owed it. Just then, I felt his fangs stretch from their hiding spot, gently grazing my soft skin.

"I want to mark you." I heard him whisper. What???

He moved my head to the side and was about to when I was jolted back to reality. My hands were on my neck as my eyes snapped open.

My eyes wandered around my surroundings and I found myself in my room, lying in a pool of my sweat on my bed. Marcus was nowhere in sight.

"It was all a dream." I whispered as I sat up.

"A sex dream." Lydia corrected.

What??

Why would I dream about something like that after just a phone call from him and why am I disappointed that it wasn't real?

I took in a steady breath to calm myself. Even though it was just a dream, I still felt turned on. I could feel my wetness pool in my sacred spot.

A small blush appeared on my face when little pieces of the scenes in my dream reappeared in my head.

"Fuck Avery.. were you that sex starved you had to have a dream of him?"

"Stop dreaming about things like this and just go to sleep." I chastised myself and tried to go back to bed but I couldn't.

I just couldn't stop thinking about Marcus so it kept me awake till the next day.

"You look breathtaking miss." The stylist commented as she touched up the light makeup on my face.

"Thank you.." I whispered with a tight-lipped smile as I stared at my delicate fugure through the mirror.

Today, I'm attending a charity ball I was invited to months ago. Even though I wasn't in the mood to be in the public light, I had to go because it was important.

"All done miss.." The stylist muttered as she put down the make up brush she was holding.

I stared at my reflection with a satisfied smile on my face; my hair had been styled up in a neat and tight bun, my face was caked up in light makeup, accentuating the image I wanted to show tonight.

Finally, the silver studded dress hugged my petite body in the endowed places, matching with my jewelries and at the same time, contrasting my innocent face.

As I walked out of my car, the camera flashes from the reporters that had gathered hit my eye, almost blinding me.

I smiled and gave a little pose before leaving for the next person. On getting to the entrance, I saw him.

There he was, dressed handsomely in a black tuxedo, his hair styled back highlighting his beautiful blue eyes but next to him was Riley. Her arms around him like she owned him, like he was her accessory

"Fancy seeing you here sister.." Her hold on him tightened as her lips twitched into an annoying grin.
