Time flowed on as they waited, and May arrived.
The weather in Konoha was turning warm.
Deep in the Forest of Death, the ground suddenly quaked, trees shuddering as birds burst into the sky.
A colossal wooden golem, comparable in size to a tailed beast, rose from the earth, a massive wood dragon coiled around its arm.
In an instant, the ground caved in and dust billowed everywhere, the uproar immense.
Kitazawa couldn't help but nod in satisfaction.
He had finally mastered Wood Release: Wood Golem Technique—a Wood Release jutsu that could contend with a complete-body Susanoo.
By now, he'd learned nearly all of the Wood Release techniques.
Only the Sage Art: Wood Release: True Several Thousand Hands surpassed the wood golem in power.
There was no need for him to seek out Sage Art: Wood Release: True Several Thousand Hands directly; he only had to complete the system mission of forming the new Konoha Sannin.
Now that Sasuke and Naruto had both gained great fame, that mission was already two-thirds complete.
Kitazawa formed a hand seal and released the Wood Release: Wood Golem Technique.
The massive construct crumbled away as he stood there, lost in thought.
His research into Wood Release had reached a temporary conclusion; his next target was Complete Body Susanoo.
On top of that, there were his system missions.
He still had three remaining:
Form the new Konoha Sannin.
Have Uzumaki Naruto master the Nine-Tails Chakra Mode.
Integrate Akatsuki into Konoha.
All three were progressing smoothly.
Thinking of this, Kitazawa let out a quiet sigh of relief.
Judging from the current situation, everything was under control—and his strength was more than enough.
He only needed to keep an eye on that Black Zetsu lurking in the shadows.
So Kitazawa continued his training.
Now, all he could do was wait.
To monitor Akatsuki's movements in real time, he had already sent a clone of Katsuyu to Kumogakure.
Once Akatsuki and Kumogakure clashed, Katsuyu would immediately inform him.
Time slowly passed.
When summer heat in Konoha reached its peak, Akatsuki finally began to move.
July 1st, early morning.
Kitazawa opened his eyes right on time.
The first thing he felt was Tsunade's soft, voluptuous body in his arms.
His gaze dropped.
Tsunade was nestled against him, their bodies pressed tightly together. Yet because of her generous curves, there were still plenty of small gaps between them.
Looking at her fair skin, Kitazawa couldn't help but exhale softly.
This kind of life really was nice.
"Tsunade-sensei."
He reached out and gently stroked her hair.
Tsunade's eyelashes trembled, and her bright brown eyes slowly opened to look at him.
Still half-asleep, she wriggled closer to him like a drowsy snake seeking warmth.
Desire surged through Kitazawa.
If he didn't have to worry about being discovered by Shizune and the others, there was no way he would let Tsunade get out of bed so easily.
"Morning."
Tsunade bent down to give him a kiss, then sat up.
Her flawless body, completely bare, was exposed to the cool air.
She raised her arms above her head and stretched.
"I'll head back first."
Kitazawa gave that dazzling skin one last glance, then quickly used the Flying Thunder God to leave.
Back in his own room, he let out a long breath, his heart finally settling down.
It seemed he really had been right to be cautious.
Just as he finished changing and stepped out, he saw Shizune walking toward Tsunade's room.
At that moment, Kitazawa felt a faint summons from the Shikkotsu Forest.
His heart stirred in understanding. He didn't resist, and in the blink of an eye, he stood before Katsuyu.
"Lord Kitazawa," Katsuyu greeted him softly. "My clone has discovered traces of the Akatsuki Organization and others in Kumogakure."
"Thank you, Lady Katsuyu."
Kitazawa nodded. With the situation urgent, he didn't linger and departed immediately.
"Tsunade-sensei."
He reappeared in the living room and walked toward Tsunade, who was sitting on the sofa.
"What's wrong?"
Tsunade noticed his sudden arrival.
"I just went to the Shikkotsu Forest," Kitazawa said directly. "Lady Katsuyu told me its clone saw members of the Akatsuki Organization in Kumogakure."
"So you're saying Akatsuki will attack Kumogakure today?"
Tsunade straightened, her expression turning serious.
"If nothing unexpected happens, it'll be today," Kitazawa replied with a nod.
"What do you plan to do?" Tsunade asked, eyes fixed on him. "Are you going straight to Kumogakure to watch the battle?"
"Mm," Kitazawa answered. "I plan to take Naruto to Turtle Island."
"Turtle Island?" Tsunade blinked, surprised. "You know where it is?"
Turtle Island wasn't a normal island but a giant turtle.
Though nominally under Kumogakure's jurisdiction, its location was constantly changing.
Aside from a handful of people, no one could possibly find it.
After all, Turtle Island was tied to the Perfect Jinchuriki. Kumogakure would never allow anyone to interfere with it.
"I'll bring Hinata along too," Kitazawa thought to himself.
He could use this chance to unleash the World-Ending Arrow and make Hinata famous in one stroke.
"Very well. Be careful," Tsunade said after a brief pause.
"With Akatsuki drawing all the attention, I won't run into the Fourth Raikage and the others on Turtle Island," Kitazawa said with a light laugh.
And even if he did, it wasn't a big deal.
In this world, strength ruled.
In the worst-case scenario, he would simply trigger the Fourth Great Ninja War a bit ahead of schedule.
"If you're going to Turtle Island, have Katsuyu keep an eye on Akatsuki and the others," Tsunade added, still focused on their real objective—scouting Akatsuki's situation.
"Akatsuki's capabilities aren't fully clear. If they have a way to detect Lady Katsuyu, we'll just tip them off." Kitazawa shook his head. "I'll go in person when the time comes."
In truth, he didn't need to go at all.
He already knew Akatsuki's intel like the back of his hand.
But lately Akatsuki had been recruiting. There might be new members he wasn't familiar with.
In any case, with the Flying Thunder God, he could drop in to watch the battle whenever he wanted.
When he returned, he would lay out all of Akatsuki's information—including Nagato's Rinnegan.
"That works too," Tsunade said, not pressing further.
With Kitazawa's strength and the Flying Thunder God, she could be at ease.
"Eat breakfast before you go," Tsunade added after thinking it over.
Kumogakure's foundation was deep. Once a battle started, it wouldn't end quickly—especially since the fight hadn't even begun yet.
"Mm."
Kitazawa didn't refuse.
"Hinata."
Kitazawa arrived at the Ninja Academy after breakfast.
"Kitazawa-sensei."
Hinata stopped her training and quickly walked over to him.
"Congratulations."
Kitazawa reached out to gently pat her head. "You've already gained basic mastery of the Eight Trigrams Palms Revolving Heaven."
"I'm still not proficient enough," Hinata replied honestly.
"Proficiency is just a matter of time."
Kitazawa chuckled. "You've already done very well."
"Thank you, Kitazawa-sensei." Hinata looked up at him, eyes curious. "Do I have new training today?"
"Not for the time being." Kitazawa shook his head. "But you do have a mission today."
"A mission?" Hinata's eyes lit up. She asked expectantly, "Kitazawa-sensei, are you leading the team?"
"Why? If I said it wasn't me, would you refuse to go?" Kitazawa teased it.
"I… I would still go," Hinata said shyly, lowering her head.
"Let's go."
Kitazawa lightly pinched her cheek, then activated the Flying Thunder God.
In the next instant, the two of them appeared in the Forest of Death.
As soon as they steadied themselves, they felt a sinister chakra spreading through the area.
Kitazawa looked up to see Uzumaki Naruto in a partial tailed beast transformation, already at the seven-tails state.
He rubbed his chin.
In the original story, when Naruto broke through to Eight-Tails, Minato appeared to stop his rampage—more precisely, a trace of chakra, a spiritual remnant left behind by Minato. The same was true for Kushina. When Naruto later trained to control the Nine-Tails' chakra, Kushina's chakra manifested to help him suppress the beast. With their help, he completed his training and awakened Nine-Tails' chakra mode.
But the current situation was different.
Naruto didn't need to face Nagato alone, nor did he need to lose control and manifest Eight-Tails. Even so, when he attempted to seize the Nine-Tails' chakra, Minato's and Kushina's chakra should still appear.
Kitazawa had no intention of preventing that. Without them, it would be difficult for Naruto to successfully enter Nine-Tails' chakra mode.
What he wanted was to help Naruto by making Minato's and Kushina's chakra last a little longer. In the original timeline, both of them vanished completely after aiding Naruto.
He thought it over carefully.
Extending the duration of their chakra was theoretically possible. The prerequisite was that he could simulate Kushina's and Minato's chakra.
That condition wasn't especially hard for him.
Kitazawa now possessed mastery-level nature transformation of all six basic chakra natures, as well as chakra shape transformation and exquisite chakra control. He guessed that the chakra remnants left by Kushina and Minato were either yin release or yang release.
"Kitazawa-sensei! Hinata!"
The moment Naruto saw them, he immediately dispelled his partial tailed beast transformation.
"Jiraiya-sama."
Kitazawa nodded toward Jiraiya and said, "I'm taking Naruto out on a mission today."
Ever since returning to the village, Jiraiya had been training Naruto—not in Sage Mode, but in how to live as a Jinchuriki. In the original story as well, he was the one who taught Naruto how to become an excellent jinchuriki.
Kitazawa didn't mind. First, it saved him the trouble and freed up his time. Second, Jiraiya's instruction didn't interfere with his own system missions.
After exchanging brief greetings, Kitazawa took Naruto and Hinata and jumped to the Land of Lightning.
He didn't know the exact location of Turtle Island, only that it was somewhere in the waters near the Land of Lightning.
"Wait for me a moment."
Kitazawa leaped into the air, using Magnet Release to fly upward. As he rose higher, he swept the surroundings with his Byakugan.
In less than half an hour, he found Turtle Island.
Turtle Island was a massive tortoise the size of an island. Ordinary people would struggle to find it; even if they saw it, they would assume it was just a regular island. But under the gaze of Kitazawa's Byakugan, its true nature was impossible to hide.
There was no need to disturb it, nor any way to truly tame it.
Kitazawa's goal was not the turtle itself but the Falls of Truth on its back.
The so‑called Falls of Truth forced anyone who entered to confront the darkness buried in their own heart.
For most shinobi, that effect wasn't particularly useful.
But for a Jinchuriki, it was something else entirely.
To become a perfect Jinchuriki, one had to reconcile with their tailed beast. That "reconciliation" wasn't done with words but with chakra—more precisely, the Jinchuriki had to seize the Tailed Beast's chakra for themselves.
However, a Tailed Beast's chakra was saturated with malice and hatred. With even the slightest mistake, the Jinchuriki would be overwhelmed, their mind thrown into chaos, and the darkness in their heart would be fully triggered, sending them into a rampage.
With Turtle Island's Falls of Truth, one could first overcome their inner darkness and only then face their tailed beast, greatly increasing the chances of success.
But it only "greatly increased" those chances—it didn't guarantee anything.
In the original story, if Kushina's chakra hadn't appeared at just the right moment, Naruto might not have been able to defeat the Nine‑Tails.
Kitazawa dropped down from mid‑air and headed straight for the Falls of Truth.
It wasn't hard to find. Four Kumogakure Jonin were stationed nearby, standing guard. The moment Kitazawa appeared, they moved to encircle him.
He gave them no chance to speak. His Eternal Mangekyo Sharingan spun to life.
A dazzling crimson light flashed.
All four Jonin instinctively met Kitazawa's gaze—and in the next instant, their eyes went blank as they fell into a daze.
Kitazawa chose not to kill them.
He didn't know when Naruto's training on Turtle Island would end. In the original timeline, it only took one or two days. But the Naruto standing in front of him now was no longer the same as the one from the original story; the situation was unpredictable.
Keeping four Kumogakure Jonin alive might prove useful later.
Besides, Kumogakure wouldn't be able to check on Turtle Island for a while.
They were about to be very busy.
Kitazawa used the Flying Thunder God and vanished.
He reappeared in front of Naruto and Hinata.
Without giving much explanation, he grabbed them both and brought them directly to Turtle Island.
"Ninjas from the Hidden Cloud Village?"
Hinata's eyes immediately fell on the four controlled Kumogakure jōnin.
"This is Kumogakure's Turtle Island," Kitazawa explained, then turned to Naruto and told him about the island's purpose.
"I see!" Naruto's eyes lit up. After listening, he asked excitedly, "So, do I start training now?"
He didn't care about any so‑called darkness in his heart. As long as he could get stronger, that was all that mattered.
"You can start training as soon as you walk into the waterfall," Kitazawa said with a smile. "We'll wait for you outside."
In the original story, overcoming the darkness in Naruto's heart had taken the form of a battle between two Narutos.
To be honest, for the current Naruto, that was just his style—fighting to his heart's content.
"Kitazawa-sensei, what should I do?"
Hinata took the initiative to ask.
Kitazawa fell into thought.
He really wasn't sure what to teach her next. She had already learned nearly everything there was to know about the Gentle Fist. There were no additional bow‑type secret techniques to pass on either.
In terms of strength, Hinata was already around Elite Jonin level. But aside from the World‑Ending Arrow, she was still one step short of Kage‑level—more precisely, she was held back by her lack of chakra.
Kitazawa's thoughts jumped to Ōtsutsuki Toneri on the moon. If Toneri gave Hinata his chakra, there was a high chance she could awaken the Tenseigan. If Kitazawa's Ōtsutsuki bloodline ever reached one hundred percent, his own chakra might have the same effect.
But the Tenseigan hadn't been obtained yet.
Suddenly, another idea came to him: Hinata's Moon‑Chasing Bow.
The Satori was sealed within that bow.
In a sense, that made Hinata half a Jinchuriki as well.
If so, could she borrow Satori's chakra to perform a partial tailed beast transformation?
Theoretically, it was possible.
A complete tailed beast transformation, however, would be extremely difficult. The Satori wasn't a tailed beast, and its chakra simply couldn't compare. On top of that, it was sealed inside the Moon‑Chasing Bow, not within Hinata's body.
Even so, a partial tailed beast transformation would already be enough to make up for Hinata's lack of chakra.
And if Hinata could use it, then Neji and Hanabi could as well.
"I've developed a new secret technique," Kitazawa said, patting Hinata on the head. "You can help me perfect it."
He hadn't forgotten he had another goal today.
Forming hand seals, Kitazawa created a Shadow Clone and sent it to Kumogakure to watch the great battle between the Akatsuki and the Hidden Cloud Village.
The original body stayed behind with Hinata to research the Satori's partial tailed beast transformation.
Time passed slowly.
By noon, Kitazawa received the Shadow Clone's memories.
The great battle between the Akatsuki and Kumogakure had ended.
The battlefield the two sides had chosen was Unraikyo.
