The sun sank in the west.

"Are... are you leaving?" Konan's slightly raspy voice trembled.

"Yeah," Kitazawa nodded. "Get some rest."

Konan's lashes fluttered as she tried to prop herself up, pale skin exposed to the cooling air. Kitazawa had thoroughly dominated her after lunch; the weakness in her voice made the outcome plain. Kitazawa reached out, steadied her shoulders, and eased her back down.

She hesitated, then slid under the covers until only her head showed, panic prickling at the thought of losing him—she couldn't afford to waste any time together. Kitazawa laid a hand on her forehead and channeled a warm wave of Yang Release chakra, easing her fatigue. He could read her thoughts: Konan, usually so composed and distant, had pushed herself too far and come off reckless. If not for the soundproof barrier, the whole of Amegakure would have heard her.

"Thank you," she murmured as the comfort spread through her.

He brushed apart the sweat-matted strands of hair from her face; a faint blush still warmed her cheeks, lending her an unexpected, quiet charm. "I'm going back. I'll come see you next time," he said, standing.

"Mm." Konan answered softly, watching him go until he disappeared.

One week later, early morning.

Still half in a dream, Kitazawa was jolted awake by impatient knocking. Tsunade, tangled in his arms, frowned.

"It shouldn't be Shizune," she said.

"Shizune wouldn't knock like this," Kitazawa replied casually.

"Which bastard is being so noisy?" Tsunade grumbled, shifting and pressing her generous body against him. The warmth between them made her relax.

"Jiraiya-sama," Kitazawa said, activating his Byakugan and spotting Jiraiya pounding at the door. Something about the situation felt... pointed.

"That bastard is practically asking for a beating!" Tsunade snapped, sitting up. "And Shizune didn't even stop him!"

"Don't blame Shizune." Kitazawa reached for her, rubbing at breasts to soothe her. "You can sleep a bit longer. I'll go see him."

"Can I still sleep after this?" she shot back, rolling her eyes.

He withdrew his hand with an innocent expression. Tsunade teased, a small smile tugging at her mouth. "Acting like a child every single day."

"In front of Tsunade-sensei, I'm willing to be a child." Kitazawa licked the corner of his mouth. "I think you're looking for a beating too!"

Tsunade clenched her fist and pretended to threaten him, though naked as she was, she was hardly imposing; her body swayed with every word.

"I wouldn't dare," she said as he leaned in, kissed her, and announced, "I'll go see Jiraiya-sama first."

"Go back to your room first." Tsunade reminded him firmly—she didn't want anyone else discovering their relationship.

Kitazawa understood and nodded. He knew her worry about gossip but believed that by becoming the strongest—or even unifying the ninja world—no one would dare speak ill of them.

He changed quickly and went to the living room.

"Kitazawa? What are you doing here?" Jiraiya blinked, surprised. He'd just returned to the village and, after visiting the Hokage Building and learning Tsunade had moved to the Senju compound, hurried over; he hadn't known Kitazawa, Kurenai, and the others had moved in as well.

"Jiraiya-sama." Kitazawa explained, "Tsunade-sensei let Kurenai and me move in."

"I see." Recognition dawned on Jiraiya. He understood Tsunade's motive but would never leap to assume anything untoward between teacher and student—the ninja world prized that bond, and such a pairing was unheard of.

"Tsunade-sensei probably hasn't woken up yet," Kitazawa added, raising a hand. "Jiraiya-sama, please have a seat."

Jiraiya nodded, sat on the sofa, and took the tea Shizune had poured. Shizune had gone to the kitchen to prepare a meal—normally she would have woken Tsunade first, but Jiraiya had taken it upon himself, which explained what had just happened.

"Tsunade indeed took in a good student."

Jiraiya sipped his tea and sighed. "I didn't expect that under your guidance, Naruto could actually defeat Sasori."

Sasori of the Red Sand had been notorious for years. Killing the Third Kazekage only raised his infamy—and his strength placed him among the very top of the ninja world. When Jiraiya first heard that an Naruto had beaten Sasori, he assumed it was someone else with the same name. After all, Minato Namikaze had only one son.

"It's all Naruto's own hard work," Kitazawa said modestly.

"He's only eleven. No matter how hard he works, it's impossible for him to have that kind of terrifying strength," Jiraiya muttered, shaking his head.

"Let's talk work." Kitazawa shifted the subject. "Tsunade-sensei called you back because she wants Naruto to become a Mount Myōboku contractor."

"I already planned that," Jiraiya said with a smile. "I just didn't expect him to grow so fast—he's already qualified before graduating."

Originally Jiraiya had waited until Naruto finished the Academy before sending him to Mount Myōboku. Naruto had been weak then, so Jiraiya took him on a three-year training trip that built the foundation for the rapid progress he made later.

"With Akatsuki hunting tailed beasts and jinchūriki everywhere, it might be good for him to lie low at Mount Myōboku for a while," Jiraiya added. "I can have him learn Sage Mode while he's there."

"I don't think that's appropriate," Kitazawa said, shaking his head. "A shinobi should have the courage to face difficulties head-on."

"That makes sense, but he's still young, and we can't risk losing the Nine-Tails' jinchūriki," Jiraiya said, his face growing serious.

"I agree with Kitazawa," came a voice as the click of high heels announced Tsunade, neatly dressed, entering the living room.

"Tsunade." Jiraiya persisted, "this matter needs careful consideration."

"Why don't we ask Naruto what he wants?" Kitazawa suggested after a moment. "He's eleven; he can decide for himself."

"That works," Jiraiya agreed. "I'll go find him in a bit."

"Why did you come here so early and disturb my sleep?" Tsunade sat beside Kitazawa with an annoyed edge.

"I just wanted to come ear—" Jiraiya started, but fell silent when he saw Tsunade ball her fist. He swallowed the rest of his sentence.

"Is the discussion finished?" she asked Kitazawa.

"I've already told Jiraiya about Naruto," Kitazawa replied.

"Good." Tsunade nodded. "Breakfast is ready. Come and eat."

Shizune stepped out of the kitchen, followed by Rina.

"Tsunade, why did you move back to the Senju compound?" Jiraiya asked, curious.

"This is my home," Tsunade answered casually. "It's normal for me to move back."

"It's nice—more lively with more people." Jiraiya brightened. "Can I stay here for a while?"

"No," Tsunade replied immediately. "This place is all women; it's not appropriate for you to stay."

"Isn't Kitazawa here?" Jiraiya protested.

"He lives with Kurenai," Tsunade said matter-of-factly. "If you want to stay somewhere, stay at Naruto's house. It'll be convenient for teaching him."

Jiraiya paused, then the implication hit him. Had Kitazawa and Kurenai become a couple? It made sense—Kitazawa was that kind of remarkable. If they were the same age as Tsunade, she might have had trouble resisting him. Fortunately, the age gap and teacher–student boundary made it impossible.

After breakfast, Tsunade, Shizune, and the others went to the Hokage Building. Kitazawa and Jiraiya headed to the Ninja Academy.

"Old man!" Jiraiya called as he spied Hiruzen from a distance.

"Jiraiya?" Hiruzen looked surprised. "When did you get back?"

"Jiraiya-sama." Yamato and the others hurried to greet him. Kakashi, in particular, looked like he was itching to ask when the next volume of Make-Out Paradise would be out.

"I just got back," Jiraiya said. "I planned to go to the Land of Rain to check on Akatsuki activity, but Tsunade had me return to teach Naruto."

"What can you teach Naruto?" Hiruzen asked, echoing Tsunade's earlier skepticism. With seven teachers in the Genius Class, they insisted Naruto lacked nothing he couldn't already learn.

"Old man, the way you say that makes me sound worthless," Jiraiya teased. "I'm one of Konoha's Sannin, after all."

"So what?" Hiruzen waved him off. "You were taught by me."

Jiraiya fell silent, then let out a quiet sigh. As skilled as he was at teaching, he had no illusions about matching Hiruzen or the others. The students really were lucky.

"But, old man, there's one thing you still can't compare to me on."

Jiraiya shifted the conversation with a smile. "And that's Mount Myōboku."

"Becoming a contractor for Mount Myōboku is one thing," Hiruzen replied, frowning, "but he cannot leave Konoha like you do."

"He is the Nine‑Tails' jinchūriki," Jiraiya acknowledged.

He knew Hiruzen—like Tsunade—didn't put much stock in Mount Myōboku's prophecies. "It's good that you understand," Hiruzen said, nodding.

"Then I'll go find Naruto." Jiraiya stood and walked toward Naruto.

Their talk went smoothly—after all, Jiraiya had been Minato Namikaze's teacher. A few moments later, Naruto signed and officially became a contractor for Mount Myōboku.

"Naruto, give it a try," Jiraiya said with a grin.

"Don't try it at the academy," Kitazawa warned immediately. Given Naruto's current strength, he definitely wouldn't summon a tiny toad like in the original story.

"Then let's go to the Forest of Death," Jiraiya suggested after a moment's thought. "I'll use the Flying Thunder God to send you there."

"The Flying Thunder God Technique?" Jiraiya snapped his head toward Kitazawa in surprise.

"You've been away too long," Hiruzen said pointedly. "Kitazawa learned the Flying Thunder God Technique."

"You actually learned it?" Jiraiya asked, incredulous.

"Just a stroke of luck," Kitazawa replied with a smile.

"Tsunade really taught a fine student." Jiraiya couldn't help but lament. "You've even surpassed Minato now; you're the strongest among the three of us." He was referring to himself, Orochimaru, and Tsunade. Minato had once relied on the Flying Thunder God for his edge—until Kitazawa learned it and, with Wood Release as well, eclipsed him. Kitazawa only smiled and said nothing.

As he prepared to use the Flying Thunder God Technique, Kitazawa noticed curious looks from Sasuke and the others. Jiraiya and Naruto hadn't bothered to hide their conversation earlier; everyone already knew Naruto had become a contractor for Mount Myōboku. The mountain was famous—one of the three legendary summoning holy lands—but none of them had seen it firsthand.

"You guys coming?" Kitazawa asked.

"Your Flying Thunder God Technique can carry this many people?" Jiraiya blurted out, shocked.

Kitazawa nodded, performed the technique, and in the next instant everyone was transported to the Forest of Death.

"Summoning Technique!"

Naruto shouted as soon as he landed.

Boom!

A massive toad crashed down from the sky—bright red, a pipe clenched in its mouth, a short sword slung at its waist.

"So cool!" Naruto was ecstatic. Ever since seeing Tenten's Shiromari he'd wanted a giant summoning beast, and now his wish had come true. Sasuke watched with a twinge of envy. A toad this size from Mount Myōboku clearly wasn't weak.

This toad was Gamabunta—one of Mount Myōboku's strongest. A master of water release and swordsmanship, he had once used a transformation technique to turn into the Nine‑Tails and briefly grapple with Shukaku, the One‑Tails. In the original story Naruto had called him the Chief Toad; Gamabunta had been a key reason Jiraiya stood among Konoha's Sannin, alongside Orochimaru's Manda and Tsunade's Katsuyu.

Kitazawa glanced at Sasuke. He planned to take him to Orochimaru for the Ryūchi Cave summoning scroll after the surgery was successful. The Ryūchi cave snakes were brutal—Manda especially—but Sasuke could never offer the kind of sacrifice those snakes demanded. Kitazawa's solution was simple: beat it into submission. If force failed, Sasuke's Mangekyō Sharingan could make it submit mentally.

Who, then, should become the new contractors for Shikkotsu Forest? There could be more than one: Sakura, Karin, Shion—non‑medical ninja like Hinata and Neji as well. Kitazawa realized Hinata and Neji would be ideal for Katsuyu; Katsuyu's clones could share vision, effectively extending the Byakugan's range. Sending a Katsuyu clone beyond the Byakugan's natural limit could, in theory, create an almost infinite visual network. Katsuyu's combat strength would also protect them in long‑range roles. After deliberation, Kitazawa decided Hinata would be the third member of New Konoha's Three Sannin—once her World‑Ending Arrow was revealed, her fame would soar. At Naruto and Sasuke's levels, they didn't strictly need a medical ninja anyway.

After Jiraiya introduced Naruto to Gamabunta, he dismissed the toad back to Mount Myōboku—the summoning had been a test of the technique. Jiraiya still needed to explain other things, especially Naruto's trip to Mount Myōboku to learn Sage Mode.

Kitazawa used the Flying Thunder God again and transported the group back to the academy training ground.

"That's enough for now. You all go train," he said, clapping his hands. "Naruto, I have a few more things to tell you."

"Come with me," Jiraiya added.

"Okay, Jiraiya-ossan." Naruto agreed. He hadn't taken Jiraiya as his master like in the original story—not because of disdain, but simply because Jiraiya hadn't started teaching him anything yet.

"Sasuke."

Kitazawa called out.

"Kitazawa Sensei!"

Sasuke's eyes brightened. Impatient, he asked, "Can I also have a summoning beast from the three holy lands?"

"You can, but it'll have to wait." Kitazawa nodded. "You have more important matters right now."

"What is it?" Sasuke blinked, then, with a rush of excitement, "Is it a mission?"

Since Naruto had risen to fame across the Ninja World, Sasuke had been waiting for his own chance to prove himself.

"No." Kitazawa shook his head. "It's the surgery for the Eternal Mangekyo Sharingan."

"The Eternal Mangekyo Sharingan?" Doubt flickered across Sasuke's face.

"It's an advanced stage of the Mangekyo Sharingan. It lets you use ocular techniques repeatedly without going blind." Kitazawa explained.

"You mean there's an advanced stage?" Stunned and a little proud at once, Sasuke couldn't hide his Uchiha pride. As expected, the Uchiha were the strongest of the Bloodline Limit clans.

"Get yourself ready," Kitazawa thought a moment. "For activation, you'll usually need to use Naruto's Yang Release Chakra more."

Sasuke finally understood why he had been taught Yang Release activation—this was the purpose: awakening the Eternal Mangekyo Sharingan.

Kitazawa glanced toward Jiraiya and Naruto off in the distance. In the original timeline Naruto might have gone with Jiraiya to Mount Myōboku to learn Sage Mode, but now, with so many teachers and classmates around, that seemed unlikely.

Not long after, Jiraiya approached with a gloomy look—his talk with Naruto had clearly gone poorly. "He doesn't want to go to Mount Myōboku," Jiraiya sighed. "Then let him stay in Konoha to study." Kitazawa suggested, "You can teach him Sage Mode here."

"I won't be staying in Konoha for long." Jiraiya said. "The Ninja World's in turmoil; a Child of Prophecy might appear. I still want to go to the Hidden Rain—though Tsunade won't let me, so I'll stay for now and see how things go. If a suspect shows up, I'll go find him."

Kitazawa nodded. He had done what he could; if Jiraiya insisted on risking himself, there was little to be done—Tsunade, as Hokage, could try to stop him.

"You can be a teacher for the Genius Class while you're here," Kitazawa added—Kurenai was away, so Jiraiya could substitute.

"No problem." Jiraiya agreed at once. "I'll first test whether Naruto has the talent for Sage Mode." With that, he led Naruto to another clearing.
