Chapter 14 - Chapter 14 Danny's Whereabouts

The Rand Group's scale was naturally dwarfed by Stark Industries, but it was still a large enterprise with billions in assets.

At least, owning a building like the Rand Building in New York, where every inch of land is precious, was enough to prove its financial strength.

Levis tidied his appearance and attire before calmly walking into the Rand Building.

The front desk receptionist looked up and was dazzled by his face, quickly greeting him, "Hello, how may I help you?"

Levis surveyed his surroundings, then smiled at the receptionist and said, "Hello, I'm looking for Joy, Joy Meacham."

The receptionist nodded and continued to ask Levis, "Do you have an appointment?"

Levis did not answer; instead, he smiled at her, raised his hand to show the flowers he was holding, and said, "Levis, please inform her!"

Seeing the flowers, the receptionist smiled knowingly and nodded, "Alright, please wait a moment."

After speaking, she pressed the intercom button to inform the upstairs, and after finishing, she looked back at Levis and replied, "I'm sorry, Mr. Levis, they are currently in a meeting upstairs. But you can go up and wait first!"

Levis was initially disappointed, but upon hearing the latter part of her statement, he immediately showed a surprised expression and happily said, "Thank you very much, you are absolutely a beautiful and kind lady!"

Levis smoothly passed through the security gate with the security guards' envious and jealous gazes fixed on him, and calmly entered the elevator.

Standing at the doorway, Levis glanced inside; there were working staff in suits and ties coming and going, both male and female, all looking very busy.

Levis, holding the fresh flowers, walked in on his own.

After just a few steps, a female employee came over, her eyes lighting up when she saw Levis, and she greeted him warmly, "Hello, are you Mr. Levis?"

Levis nodded, then, led by the female employee, walked into an office, and the female employee diligently brought him a cup of coffee.

"Mr. Levis, please wait here first."

"Alright, thank you for your thoughtful hospitality!" Levis picked up the coffee and smiled in thanks.

The female employee nodded, smiled, and left, leaving Levis alone in the office.

He first scanned the empty office; there was nothing unusual about it. Then Levis picked up the coffee, took a sip, and put it down.

He stood up, casually pulled a book from the bookshelf, sat back on the sofa, and waited while reading.

He had read a few pages of the book, and the coffee was not yet finished, when the door opened.

Levis turned around, and a beautiful woman holding documents walked in with her head down; it was Joy Meacham.

"Hello, Joy!" Levis stood up first to greet her.

Joy only then realized that there was an outsider in her office, and a strange man at that.

Well, he was a strange, exceptionally handsome man! Joy even took a couple more glances.

But no matter how handsome, he was still a strange man, suddenly appearing in the office. What if he was a bad guy?

Joy looked at Levis again. If all bad guys were this handsome, it wouldn't be so bad, huh!

No, this was the negligence of the assistant secretary outside. Joy was a bit angry; she felt she should send her back for retraining.

"You are?" Joy looked at Levis, her expression more confused than wary.

"Levis, you can call me Neo." Levis extended his hand, introducing himself proactively.

Joy lightly shook his hand and then released it, asking, "So, Mr. Levis, how may I help you?"

Levis looked at Joy, gestured towards the sofa next to them, and greeted her like a Master, "Why don't we sit down and talk first?"

Although Joy felt slightly strange, she still reluctantly followed the instruction and sat on the sofa, out of consideration for Levis.

As soon as she sat down, Joy saw a bouquet of fresh flowers on the sofa. She gave Levis a strange look, then chose to remain calm and observe the situation.

Noticing Joy's gaze, Levis picked up the flowers and presented them to Joy, smiling, "These are for you, and they're still very fresh."

To accept or not to accept? That was the question.

Looking at Levis, Joy chose to follow her heart, so she took the flowers and responded with a smile, "Thank you."

After speaking, she glanced at the flowers in her hand; they were indeed very fresh, with dewdrops still on the petals.

Joy happily stood up, preparing to put the flowers in a vase.

"As long as you like them." Levis smiled, seeing Joy's happy expression.

He had seen these flowers on the way here and picked them casually. The dew had not even dried yet, so of course, they were fresh.

Joy sat back on the sofa, her mood clearly much better. A happy smile hung on her face, and even the wariness in her gaze towards Levis lessened.

"Mr. Levis, thank you very much for the flowers." After thanking him again, Joy looked at Levis and finally asked about the main business, "May I know why Mr. Levis is looking for me?"

"Yes, Joy, I want to ask you about someone!" Levisunceremoniously called Joy by her first name.

"Who are you asking about?" Joy asked.

"Danny, Danny Rand." Levis looked at Joy and smiled, "I think you, Joy, should know this person?"

"Danny Rand?" The smile on Joy's face finally disappeared, and she looked at Levis with wariness and confusion, "Mr. Levis, do you know Danny?"

"Yes, I am his friend." Levis explained, "Although we haven't known each other for long, he has been staying with me these past few days, but he didn't come back last night."

Joy immediately understood. Of course, she knew Danny wouldn't come back last night, because when Danny came to see her yesterday, she knocked him out with a cup of tea.

And now, as expected, Danny had already been sent to a mental hospital by her older brother, Ward.

Joy was a bit embarrassed and didn't know how to tell Levis about this.

Although she felt this was also for Danny's own good, because she thought Danny was crazy, and sending him to a mental hospital could prevent him from encountering danger in society.

But she didn't expect Danny to have friends, and his friend Levis actually came looking for him, which made things difficult.

Joy was kind after all, and after hesitating for a while, she told Levis the truth.

"Ah, this..." Levis was also a bit speechless after hearing it.

Looking at Joy's apologetic expression, Levis didn't really think she had a big problem.

Although he was Danny's friend, it didn't prevent him from also thinking that Danny's behavior sometimes did seem like that of a madman.

Moreover, Levis himself was a guy with blood on his hands, so he had no room to blame Joy.

"Joy, do you know which hospital it is?" Levis felt it would be better to pick up Danny earlier to avoid further trouble.

"Yes, yes." Joy nodded quickly, then looked at Leviseagerly and said, "Why don't I go with you? I happen to know people at that hospital."

Joy now only felt very embarrassed and just wanted to resolve the trouble as quickly as possible. At the same time, she didn't want this small matter to cause a bad misunderstanding between her and Levis.
