CHAPTER FIVE
Watch out!" Calista fell on the floor, her elbow scratching on the tar that lined the roads of the school.
"Ahhh!" A voice hissed out.
Calista was about to flare up at the person who had pushed her but the cry of pain coming from the person made her still.
She looked up and was surprised to see the scene before her.
Two familiar-looking girls were holding a can of something that looked dangerous.
Of course, it was dangerous, considering that some part of it that had poured on the floor had smoke swirling out of it.
"Call the police!" Someone yelled when they realized what was going on.
The two girls panicked when they heard that someone wanted to call the police.
They wanted to run but someone held them down immediately, it was a tall, strong-looking young man who Calista didn't recognize.
"Call the ambulance too, it seems that the acid splashed on the guy," a female voice from the crowd said.
Someone helped Calista and the guy who had saved her up.
Calista had a wound on her hand from being scraped on the tar but her focus was on the guy who had just saved her.
The suit he was wearing had holes caused by the acid and his face was twisted painfully.
Soon, the ambulance came in, and followed behind them were the police.
The wounded guy was strapped down and taken into the ambulance while the police had taken the two girls into custody.
"Thank you for holding them down young man but next time you have to be careful, what if they were carrying extra jars of acid, you would have been the next victim" the female police officer cautioned the tall boy who nodded his head obediently before leaving.
"Ma'am you have to make a statement first," the other policeman said but he was stopped by the nurse in the ambulance.
"She is also wounded, that would have to wait till we reach the hospital, we have to make sure that the wounds she has don't surpass these scrapes," the nurse said.
The policeman nodded in understanding,
"Then I will have to come with you to the hospital, can I hitch a ride to the hospital in your van?" He asked, flashing her a wink.
"Whatever" the nurse replied with an eye roll.

"Thank you for saving me earlier"
Calista whispered thankfully, staring at the handsome man lying on the bed shirtless.
Though he had dodged the acid, some of it had splashed on his arm and back, thankfully, his suit had minimized the damage.
They had just finished recording their statement with the police officer and Calista was still bewildered at why the girls would come after her. She wondered who sent them.
"So how are you going to repay me?" Orion asked with a smile.
The little dose of painkillers that the nurse had pumped into his system was slowly wearing off and the tingling pain from the chemical burns was coming back slowly.
Orion cursed his luck, wishing that he had listened to Jaxon and not gone there but at the same time, he was happy that he had helped Calista and was probably in her book of good persons, which made what he wanted to do next easier.
"I don't really know…, I can take care of you till you get better since there is nothing else I can offer you. I have no money and don't think that is what you need," she said.
Calista was right, she had recognized the suit jacket he was wearing instantly.
It was among the most expensive pieces worth Ten thousand dollars or more, even Nathan had expressed his difficulty in buying it some time ago because his money wasn't enough.
"You have to do more than that If you want me to believe that you're grateful and want to pay me back or ….do you see me as a nuisance?" Orion asked.
"Of course, I'm grateful, it was you who asked for a payback, and I'm offering what I can."
She knew that she was saved by this guy but she wondered what he meant by asking her to do more. His words were almost getting her pissed.
If not for the fact that he had helped her avoid a potential disfigurement, she would have abandoned him right there and then.
Orion noticed the annoyance radiating off her but he didn't give a fuck, he was determined to achieve his goals today.
"Haven't you seen me before?" Orion asked.
Calista furrowed her brows, staring intently at the handsome man before her, wondering what he was up to.
She could swear that she hadn't seen his face before because if she had, she wouldn't have had a problem remembering him.
So she shook her head, "No"
"No? But then you destroyed the tires of my car a day ago, have you forgotten?" He asked.
Calista's eyes widened in shock.
"Yes, my dear, I am the owner of the car that you slashed ruthlessly in that parking lot" Orion revealed more.
"Do you know how I felt, wanting to catch up on an important meeting with my investors but I arrived late, making me lose a contract worth 1 billion dollars!"
Calista took a deep breath at the astronomical sum of money that he had just called, sweat gathered on her forehead as she turned pale from fright but she gritted her teeth.
"You were the one that splashed water on me first without stopping to apologize or anything," she said.
"I'm sorry about that, it was a very big mistake on my part but that isn't a good enough reason for your actions, I called my lawyer and we are suing you for the sum of 2 million dollars, barely a fraction of what I lost," Orion said.
Calista's eyes widened "No! You can't do that to me, I don't have that sort of money on me now, can you please…."
"No excuse, I came to your school intending to give you the letter but this incident happened, I think I need to add more money."
"No please don't... I beg you…"
"If you want me to withdraw the letter, you will have to do something for me," Orion said with a smirk.
"What is it sir, I can do whatever you want" Calista was no longer thinking rationally.
"Are you sure?" He asked.
"Yes, I am" Calista affirmed.
"Good…. Then, be my wife".
