Chapter 50 - Chapter Fifty: Arriving to the Ashara Royal Family Estate

Ashara Estate, 1509

As the carriage rolled to a stop at the Ashara Estate, the grand architecture loomed impressively in the background.

Two women stepped out, their elegant dresses flowing gracefully as they descended onto the cobblestone pathway.

"Your family's estate is always beautiful," Igraine remarked to Mahfiruze, admiring the intricate details of the facade.

The sun cast a warm glow, enhancing the estate's charm and inviting ambiance. Mahfiruze smiled, proud of her heritage and the legacy of the Ashara Estate. Together, they walked towards the entrance.

Queen Bengi walked out the door, her presence commanding and regal. She welcomed her daughter Mahfiruze with a warm smile, the bond between them evident.

As they embraced, the scent of blooming jasmine filled the air, a reminder of the garden's splendor. "Come, let us gather in the parlor; welcome, Igraine, we are happy to have you here," Queen Bengi said, leading them inside.

The parlor was adorned with rich tapestries and elegant furnishings that spoke of the estate's long history. Mahfiruze glanced around, feeling a mix of nostalgia and excitement as she took in the familiar surroundings.

Mahfiruze then says, "Wow, not much has changed since I was last here." The room still held the same warmth and charm that she remembered fondly.

"It's comforting to see that some things remain constant," Igraine replied with a smile, her eyes sparkling with curiosity. As they settled into plush chairs, the atmosphere buzzed with the promise of shared stories and rekindled friendships.

Bengi nodded enthusiastically at Igraine's statement. "Absolutely!" It's reassuring to see how some places hold onto their essence," she agreed.

The memories tied to these surroundings create a unique bond that feels timeless.

Mahfiruze smiled, feeling a sense of belonging as laughter filled the room. "I can't wait to share all the stories we've missed since the last time we were together," she added, her excitement palpable.

Their reunion felt like a celebration of the past and a toast to new beginnings.

As the evening progressed, the warmth of friendship enveloped them, igniting nostalgia and joy. Each story shared was like a thread woven into the fabric of their lives, reminding them of the moments that had shaped them and the adventures yet to come.

Mahfiruze then says to her mother, Bengi, "Mother, there's something I need to share."

Bengi looked at her with curiosity, her expression shifting from delight to anticipation. "What is it, my dear?" she asked, sensing the weight of the situation.

Mahfiruze took a deep breath, recalling the tales of Arthur and his love, Nimue, that had often slipped from her lips.

"Do you remember me telling you about Nimue having a daughter with Arthur and that Arthur never knew about his daughter's existence?" says Mahfiruze in a neutral tone.

Bengi's eyes widened, her mind racing with the implications of Mahfiruze's words. "Yes, I remember you telling me. What about it?" She replied slowly, her voice barely above a whisper.

Mahfiruze's expression remained calm, but a hint of excitement danced in her eyes. "Arthur has finally met his daughter, Rhaenys," she revealed, allowing the weight of the revelation to settle.

Bengi's heart raced as she processed the news. "When did this happen?" she asked, her voice trembling slightly.

Mahfiruze smiled softly, sensing Bengi's turmoil. "Just a few days ago, actually," she replied, her tone still neutral. The revelation hung in the air, heavy with unspoken emotions.

Bengi struggled to comprehend the implications of Arthur's newfound connection to Rhaenys. "Did he... did he know before?" Bengi inquired, her skepticism increasing.

Mahfiruze shook her head, the excitement in her eyes growing. "No, he had no idea until recently. It's a lot for everyone to process," she explained gently.

Bengi's heart raced at the news, a mix of disbelief and curiosity flooding her thoughts. "What happened when they met?" she asked, leaning in closer, eager to hear every detail of this unexpected reunion.

Mahfiruze then says, "I don't know." "Arthur had to go to the Forbidden Forest to find Rhaenys because that's where she appeared from the other dimension."

Bengi's eyes widened with intrigue, imagining the dark and mysterious woods filled with unknown dangers. "Did he succeed in bringing her back?" she pressed, her voice barely above a whisper as she envisioned the challenges he might have faced.

Mahfiruze nodded slowly, her expression turning sincere. "Yes, he did. He and Rhaenys are making their way to the estate right now. They should be here between two and three days from now."

Bengi felt a rush of relief mixed with excitement at the thought of their impending arrival. "I can't wait to meet Rhaenys. I know you consider Rhaenys as a daughter, even though the two of you never met," she said, her mind racing with possibilities about the other dimension.

Mahfiruze then says, "I'm excited for you to meet her mother. I'm excited to meet her for the first time personally. But I'm nervous about it."

Bengi nodded understandingly, sensing the weight of Mahfiruze's emotions. "It's natural to feel that way," she reassured, "but remember, this is a chance to create new bonds and share experiences that will last a lifetime."

Mahfiruze took a deep breath, trying to quell her anxiety. "You're right," she replied softly, a hint of determination in her voice. "I just hope she likes me as much as I want to like her."

Bengi smiled warmly. "Just be yourself; that's the best way to connect with anyone." As Mahfiruze prepared for the meeting, she felt a flicker of hope, envisioning the possibility of a genuine friendship blossoming.

Igraine says with a nervous tone, "Mahfiruze is not the only one who's nervous. I'll be meeting my granddaughter for the first time. I never knew she existed until a few days ago.

Bengi placed a reassuring hand on Igraine's shoulder. "It's natural to feel anxious, but think of it as an opportunity to build a new bond and share your stories."

Igraine nodded, her eyes reflecting both excitement and apprehension. "You're right," she replied, taking a deep breath. "This could be the start of something beautiful, and I want to make the most of it."

Bengi smiled, sensing Igraine's determination. "Just remember, every relationship begins with a single step, and this one could lead to unexpected joy."

Bengi then says to both Mahfiruze and Igraine, "Shall we go and eat in the dining hall?"

Igraine smiled, feeling the warmth of camaraderie. "Yes, let's do that!"

Mahfiruze then says, "I agree."

They made their way to the dining area, where delicious aromas filled the air that awaited the three of them.
