Chapter 109 - Chapter 109: Rise of the Titan

A surge of emotion overwhelmed him. This was the dream he'd carried since childhood. Honestly, what little boy hadn't fantasized about wielding the power of light?

"Paul, I'd like to request a song."

"Certainly, sir. What would you like to hear?"

"'Miracle Reappears.'"

"Now playing: 'Miracle Reappears.'"

A new storm is already here, how could we stay stagnant?Crossing through time and space, giving it my all, I'll be by your side…

As the familiar theme played, Andrew drew a circle with his left hand, a spiral with his right, and then raised the Shining Rod high into the sky.

"I will protect this world!"

"Come forth, Diga!"

All eyes turned to Andrew and his battle with the Destroyer.

"Professor! Why isn't Mr. Stark moving?"

Darcy, peering through a telescope, noticed that Andrew's Hellfire Armor had suddenly frozen mid-battle. She had no idea what had happened.

The Destroyer gathered its fiery energy and blasted a molten stream directly at Andrew's steel-clad body. The world around seemed to erupt into a blazing inferno.

"What?! Why is Iron Man just standing there taking the hit?"

A S.H.I.E.L.D. agent shouted in disbelief.

"Is he… dead?"

Hill thought of Andrew's usual cocky grin and carefree charm. Suddenly, her chest felt tight with guilt.

She had been the one to call him in for help. If he had really died… the responsibility was hers to bear.

"Look over there! What is that?!"

From within the fiery aftermath of the Destroyer's attack, a soft light began to shimmer. At first faint, it rapidly grew, brighter and brighter, until no one could keep their eyes open.

"It's so bright! I can't see anything!"

Darcy shut her eyes instinctively. It lasted only a moment but when she opened them again, her jaw dropped in disbelief. She nearly forgot how to stand.

"What... is that?!"

Before them stood a giant, over 53 meters tall. Its red-and-blue body shimmered with power, and its head looked comically like it was topped with two salted duck eggs.

"Cha!"

The towering figure nicknamed the "Salted Egg Giant" struck a dramatic pose.

The once-fearsome Destroyer now looked like nothing more than a child's plaything.

Next to the fifty-three-meter giant, the ten-meter-tall Destroyer was utterly dwarfed.

"What the hell is that?!"

Even Loki, seated on his throne, leapt up in shock.

Even for a prince of Asgard worldly and knowledgeable, this was beyond anything he'd seen. Not even the M78 Nebula held records of such a being.

"Could that be Iron Man?"

Hill furrowed her brow. But wasn't size-changing tech the domain of Dr. Pym?

And even Pym's tech couldn't grow someone that massive.

Fifty-three meters tall nearly twenty stories high!

The Destroyer, however, had no fear. It wasn't alive. It was just a weapon programmed to destroy.

Big or small meant nothing to it.

Boom!

A molten blast slammed straight into Andrew's chest. He let out a low chuckle.

"That's all you've got? Couldn't even scratch me."

He wasn't done.

So you like blasting people, huh?You breathe fire? Seriously?

Andrew launched himself into the air and came crashing down, stomping the Destroyer underfoot.

The Destroyer tried its signature move again its body twisting into a double-axis rotation.

But Andrew wasn't in the mood to play.

Oh, you wanna spin?Fine.Let's see how you like it.

Grabbing one of the Destroyer's legs with a single hand, he began to spin it like a massive wheel. The once-deadly weapon now looked like a helpless grasshopper, twirling in midair.

Crack! Crack! Crack!

Cracks spidered across the Destroyer's metallic body. The sheer force gravitational and centrifugal was overwhelming, pulverizing its structure.

Snap!

One of its legs tore clean off. The rest of its body flung through the air like a broken kite, spinning uncontrollably.

All eyes followed its battered remains as they soared across the sky.

Heh.Trying to run?

Andrew muttered under his breath.

If the Destroyer had any form of intelligence, it'd be cursing:

"Damn it! You're the one who spun me so hard my leg snapped! How am I running?! You think I'm a gecko?!"

Andrew wasn't done yet. He raised both arms like a student ready to answer a question.

"Cha!"

From his right hand shot a brilliant beam of blue light, slamming into the airborne Destroyer.

Composite Specium Ray!

Boom!

Its final act was a dazzling explosion, lighting up the sky like a firework.

"Woooow..."

Such a beautiful display.

Darcy clasped her hands together and whispered a wish:

"Please, heavens, grant me a strong, muscular man!"

Ding dong, ding dong, ding dong, ...

Three minutes had passed. The timer on Andrew's chest began to blink.

"Cha!"

He nodded toward Hill, several kilometers away, then turned into a streak of light and vanished into the sky.

Whoosh...

Andrew pushed open the mangled Mark III armor. That last lava blast had completely wrecked the suit.

Thank goodness the system had gifted him the Shining Rod at the last second.

Wait, where's my Shining Rod?

He frantically patted himself down. Nothing.

Looked at his feet. Still nothing.

Checked inside his pants. Something there but definitely not the right model.

"System, where's my Shining Rod?"

"The Shining Rod has a cooldown period. Current cooldown time: six months."

"What?! It has a cooldown? And six months?! That's insane!"

Andrew groaned internally.

"So I can only transform into Diga twice a year?"

"The Shining Rod is extremely powerful. Use it with caution."

Ugh. Fine. You win.

Watching the steel menace finally defeated, Hill let out a deep breath. If that thing had gone on a rampage through New York, immune to blades, bullets, fire, and water… the destruction would've been catastrophic.

"Boss, report! We're detecting anomalies!"

The team stationed near Thor's hammer noticed spikes in the electromagnetic field and immediately reported.

"Keep monitoring."

With the danger gone, Hill gave a distracted reply. A weird hammer? Whatever. Let it do what it wants.

Buzz...

Without any wind, Mjolnir suddenly rose and shot off like lightning toward a remote town.

"Eric."

Darcy, eyes on the strange phenomenon, spoke in a flat voice.

After witnessing Diga Ultraman, even if the Jade Emperor himself showed up, she probably wouldn't bat an eye.

Eric looked confused, unsure what she was referring to this time.

"Look. A shooting star."

She pointed. Eric and the others followed her gaze.

Something was blazing across the sky like a falling meteor.

"It's Mjolnir!"

Lady Sif shouted in excitement.

"Mjolnir?"

Darcy and Eric blinked at her, utterly baffled.

But when they saw the hammer flying straight at them and noticed Jane Foster still tightly clinging to that handsome stranger and they quickly ran over and dragged her away.
