"Sigh… This sapphire is so heavy I can barely lift my fingers anymore," Wendy muttered, posting her latest photo to her social feed.
When she looked up, she caught Andrew watching her with an amused grin, which made her flush with embarrassment.
"You're all the way in America and still addicted to posting online?"
"Hmph, I've just never worn anything this beautiful before. Back in college, my classmates were always flaunting their trips, meals, and clothes. I could only look on and envy them. But now I'm finally free and I want to enjoy it for once."
Wendy gently touched the platinum necklace around her neck, a satisfied smile on her lips.
"So, how does it feel?"
"Isn't it obvious? It feels incredible like a dream!"
"Want to feel even better?"
"Better than a million-dollar sapphire?"
Wendy blinked, struggling to imagine such a thing.
"Heh. The poor play with cars, the rich with watches, and women with jewelry. Let me take you to get a timepiece worthy of you."
Andrew chuckled, took her hand, and led her toward the exit.
"Wait! Should I put this ring away first? What if it gets scratched?"
"What's the big deal? If it gets scratched, we'll just replace it."
Hand in hand, the two stepped into the world-renowned watch boutique next door. Just how famous was this place?
Andrew glanced around none of the watches were priced under $200,000.
"Welcome!"
Two saleswomen greeted them with radiant smiles, each perfectly composed in sleek black uniforms. Both were tall and elegant, exuding professionalism.
Andrew gave a small nod. Even the staff here carried themselves with refined courtesy.
"Do you have an appointment?" asked one of the clerks. Her hair was pinned in a smooth bun, revealing the graceful curve of her neck.
"No, just browsing. Show us what you've got," Andrew replied casually.
Wendy had never set foot in such a luxurious store before. She felt a little uneasy.
Andrew sensed her grip tighten slightly in his hand. He pulled her gently into his embrace.
"Nervous? Don't be. Relax and enjoy it. Even if you broke everything in here, I could still pay for it."
The saleswoman, who'd been all smiles a moment ago, nearly rolled her eyes on the spot.
Did he really just say that?Break everything?
Did he have any idea how many luxury watches were in this store? Or how much they were worth in total?
Easily over a hundred million dollars! She'd seen her share of boastful customers but this one topped the charts.
Wendy giggled at Andrew's boldness.
"You're too much. Even if you're rich, you can't just break stuff. That's such a waste."
Seeing this striking woman, the saleswoman had hoped she'd be the more reasonable one. But clearly, she was just as wild as the guy with the sunglasses. A match made in heaven, it seemed.
"Sir, Miss, may I ask what price range you're looking at?"
Despite her internal commentary, the clerk kept her professional demeanor. In luxury retail, all customers had to be treated like royalty—no exceptions.
"I don't know much about watches. Take a look at my girlfriend and see what suits her best. Price isn't a concern."
Though Andrew had money, he wasn't reckless with it. He didn't mind spending extravagantly so long as it was worth it. Buying something just because it was expensive? That wasn't his style.
"Of course, sir. Right this way, this is our women's collection."
The saleswoman swayed elegantly as she led them.
The boutique itself was immense easily over 300 square meters. That kind of square footage in Rockefeller Center was a statement in itself.
"This rose gold and sapphire blue diamond watch is one of our newest models. The strap is made of light gray alligator leather. It complements your skin tone beautifully."
The assistant gently removed a glittering watch from the display. Under the soft lights, the diamonds on the dial sparkled so brightly that Wendy felt momentarily dazed.
"A golden pig can afford to shop here? Truly, the world has lost its mind."
Wendy and Andrew, who had been listening to the product description, turned toward the voice.
It belonged to a white couple in their forties.
Andrew quickly scanned the store. Aside from Wendy, there were no other Asians present.
His expression instantly darkened.
"Manager! Manager!"
Before Andrew could react, the white woman shouted again.
"I'm here, madam. How may I help you?" the manager rushed over respectfully. The woman in question was a long-time customer and obscenely wealthy.
The man beside her was her live-in husband. Naturally, she wore the pants in the relationship.
"When did your store start allowing golden pigs in here? It's insulting to the American people! How can I shop here again after seeing that?"
She wiped her hands with a handkerchief as though she'd touched something filthy.
"Disinfect every surface that pig touched! Who knows if she brought the Delta virus in with her!"
The store manager quickly bowed and apologized.
"My sincerest apologies, Mrs. Morrigan. It was a lapse in our service."
The man beside her added, "If you mess up, admit it. If you get slapped, stand at attention. Now get that golden pig out of here! Just looking at her makes me sick!"
"Uh... well…"
The manager hesitated. If Wendy had just been an ordinary customer, he might've caved. But Andrew dressed in sharp designer clothing, exuding power despite the mask and sunglasses was clearly someone important.
And not someone he could afford to offend.
"You're not going to do anything? Fine! If you don't remove her, I'm never shopping here again!"
Mrs. Morrigan's voice rose in fury as she saw the manager hesitate. When did her authority stop working? Even a measly store manager dared to disobey her?
"Mrs. Morrigan, please calm down. I'll speak with the gentleman," the manager said softly.
Andrew had already heard most of the conversation thanks to his keen hearing.
He knew that some people's prejudice ran so deep, no argument or reasoning could change them.
Had they simply minded their own business, he would've ignored it.
But now they were trying to drive them out?
"Sir, I ..."
The manager didn't even finish before Andrew cut him off coldly.
"If I were you, I'd shut up right now."
With that, he gently patted Wendy's hand and stepped forward.
"Be careful, Tony," Wendy said calmly.
She didn't try to stop him. She knew exactly what kind of man she was with.
If even someone like Brandon Lee had to lower his head and seek peace with him, then here in America, one stomp from Andrew could shake the ground.
