Chapter 95 - Chapter 95: The Maid's Duty and the Storm's Reckoning

"Are you talking about a boyfriend?"

Peter's heart leapt to his throat.

"Yeah, I like him," Mary Jane nodded.

"Wow..."

"What is it?" Mary Jane pressed.

"Ahem, nothing. It's just... you finally have someone by your side."

"I think we could take it a step further."

"A step further?" Peter looked puzzled.

"Never mind."

Seeing Peter looking so clueless, Mary Jane nearly lost her mind.

"I'll come watch your performance tomorrow night!"

The words burst out at last. He had been holding them in for so long, and now that he'd said it, he felt completely relieved.

"Tomorrow night? Will you really come?"

Mary Jane's smile lit up once more.

"I will. I promise!"

Peter grinned too, like a big, goofy kid.

"Don't let me down!"

"I won't."

Outside, lightning crackled and thunder roared. Dark clouds loomed over the sky as Aetheris lay sprawled on the large bed in his room, enjoying a massage from Wendy.

"Sir, how's the pressure? Should I ease up a bit?"

Wendy was using her soft bosom as a pillow for Aetheris while gently massaging his head with her delicate hands, surprising him a little.

"I didn't expect this from you, Wendy. Did you use to work in this line of work?"

"Not at all! I'm a decent woman. But besides cleaning and doing your laundry every day, I have a lot of free time. So, I signed up for an online massage course. Everything I know, I learned from videos online."

A dimple appeared at the corner of her lips, her gentle eyes brimming with charm.

"I see how hard you work every day, Boss. Naturally, you should be able to relax when you come home. This is just part of my duty."

"Not bad, not bad. It feels amazing. In America, we call that very good!"

"You've helped me so much, Boss. I don't know how to do much else, so this is the only way I can repay you."

Wendy suddenly found her face just inches from his.

"Wendy, you don't need to"

But Aetheris's words caught in his throat. Her long hair had come loose and softly brushed across his face, tickling him.

Looking at her skin, which had grown more radiant and supple over the past few days, Aetheris couldn't help but reflect on how far he had fallen.

Then, a thought crossed his mind—how in ancient times, a maidservant's evening duty was to draw her master's bath, wear minimal clothing, and lie in his bed first to warm it with her body. This process might take up to half an hour.

During that time, the maid couldn't fall asleep or slack off. Once the bed was warm enough, she would politely invite the master to bed.

In winter, when it was especially cold and rooms were heated only by a brazier, maidservants also had to warm their master's feet to ensure he didn't wake shivering.

Two maids would carry out this task—one for each foot—resting them in their laps to keep them warm.

And if the lady of the house was unavailable and the master's energy too much to contain, the maids would be expected to fill in as substitutes.

Those were the lucky ones. Some led truly miserable lives. If they happened to serve a twisted master, even a small mistake could mean severe beatings or worse.

Thankfully, I wasn't reborn into that era.

The falling petals drift with the flowing water; spring fades, and so too does the world of mortals and gods...

In a remote border town, at the site where Thor's hammer had crashed, Hill stood atop a makeshift platform, watching the chaos unfold as alarms blared across the entire camp.

A swift, muscular figure darted through the compound. No one—agent or guard could stop him for even a second.

Just a mile away, Jane Foster lay prone on a hill, watching through a pair of binoculars. When she saw the red lights flash and the sirens wail, her heart skipped a beat.

That handsome guy with the scrambled brain, could he have been caught by S.H.I.E.L.D.?

Beep beep beep ...

this is Erik. Please leave a message.

She quickly dialed Erik's number, but it was already around midnight. It went straight to voicemail.

"Hi, Erik, it's me. Don't worry, I'm okay. But if you don't hear from me within the next hour, please come to the meteorite crash site—the one S.H.I.E.L.D. took over. I did something you told me not to do. I'm really sorry. I truly apologize. Goodbye."

She hung up and picked up her binoculars again, desperate to see what was going on in the camp. Unfortunately, Hill's team had confiscated her best equipment. The binoculars she had now were a $20 roadside purchase.

Barely usable in the daytime at night, they were little more than wishful thinking.

"Report! Report! The intruder has entered the southern tunnel!"

"No! I've lost the signal!"

The entire camp descended into chaos. Thunder rumbled overhead. Lightning forked across the sky. The raging storm wrecked the base's communications.

"Out of my way!"

With a thunderous suplex, Thor slammed one of the agents blocking his path into the concrete floor.
