Chapter 2 - Journey to being strong

In the previous chapter, we got to know how Zaid got teleported to another world full of mysteries and special powers. He now has to find his friend Noah, who disappeared in this world. Now, Zaid is going on a journey to find his best friend Noah.

On a shiny morning, Zaid started his journey toward Aethoreos, "The Flying Island." It is popular for making magical weapons and trading items like swords, shields, bows, and other war equipment. Zaid is going there to meet a person who will teach him about magic. Zaid had already been trained in sword fighting by Frederick Grayson, who suggested he meet someone living in Aethoreos.

Zaid was traveling with a few people in a horse cart—others also headed to Aethoreos. Zaid asked them why they were going there and what the place was like. He got to know something terrible: the place was also infamous for selling slaves for money.

A few days passed, and Zaid finally reached the city. To go up to Aethoreos, they had to use a teleportation portal, guarded by many soldiers. He approached them and said he needed to meet a person named Ryder Thorn. One of the guards sent a message to Ryder through some kind of magical power. The guard asked him what business he had with Ryder Thorn. Zaid didn't tell them he wanted to learn magic from him—instead, he said his friend sent him to meet Mr. Thorn. They allowed him to use the portal. When he touched it, he felt the same sensation he had when he touched the mysterious tree before getting teleported to this sky city but this one is slightly different from the tree it has not a powerfull impact on his body like the magical tree does to him and he got unconscious.

First, he explored the entire city—checking the shops, buildings, and other important places. After that, he went to Mr. Thorn's house, but he wasn't there. Zaid waited until nightfall. Mr. Thorn returned injured and covered in soil. He asked, "Who are you, and why are you outside my home?" Zaid told him everything—how he got teleported to this world, how he met Frederick Grayson, how Grayson helped him, and all the things that had happened. Zaid asked him if he could train him in magic. Thorn replied, "I will think about it—if you are capable of it." Thorn then decided to test Zaid's capacity and power before deciding whether he would train him or not.

Zaid asked why Thorn was late and injured. Thorn told him that he is a soldier who fights monsters that threaten their city, Aethoreos.

Zaid was determined to learn from Thorn—a capable warrior of Aethoreos. Thorn was highly respected, not only in his city but also in neighboring countries. If Zaid got training from him, he would become powerful and strong. That night, Zaid took a rest, tired from his travel from Veloria to Aethoreos. He had a good sleep and woke up early the next morning for practice.

But the practice was not easy. Thorn gave him a task—if he could do it for more than a week, he would be trained under him. Many dreamed of being trained personally by Thorn, but he did not teach just anyone.

Zaid had to do 500 push-ups, run 20 kilometers, complete 1000 squats, and perform other workouts—it all seemed impossible. Thorn said he would help him during the practice. Zaid didn't understand what kind of help Thorn could offer. When Zaid started working out, he got tired after just 1 kilometer of running, but Thorn used his magic, and Zaid felt energized. He completed the 20 kilometers and finished all his workouts for day one.Thorn tell him that there are also many other who gave this test to train under me they were capable of doing the test but not worthy to learn magic from him, this is not only for seeing how much strength do you have but to check you hardwork and your capacity of learning something.

Zaid was exhausted after his first day and thought he couldn't pass the test. But after three days, the practice began to get easier for him.

When Zaid passed his practice test, Thorn was impressed by Zaid's hard work, patience, and obsession to learn magic and become stronger in order to find his friend in this mysterious world. When the test is going be end Thorn aksed him do you get what I was telling you about the test that is not to check you strength this is to check your capacity and you passed this test with hardwork and patience.

One week passed, and then Thorn officially started training Zaid. Zaid worked hard to learn magic and to become as powerful as Thorn. He also began to learn more about the city of Aethoreos—a city that floats in the air to protect itself from the ground monsters. Every early morning, Zaid trained in magic and continued his swordsmanship training, which Frederick had taught him in Veloria.

A few weeks passed. Zaid was now stronger than before. Sometimes, when Thorn went on big missions for several days, Zaid trained himself and upgraded his powers. Zaid became a Wind User—mages who can control wind magic. Every mage has their own unique magical abilities.

After a month, when Zaid became capable enough to go on missions, he joined Thorn on a duo mission to defeat a monster named Chimera. The Chimera was made from both human and animal body parts and was a terrifying monster with unique magical abilities. Thorn brought Zaid along so he could gain battle experience. Thorn knew Zaid was capable and could help defeat the monster.

The next day, they both left the city. Zaid was now stepping out of Aethoreos and was about to experience a true battle, a moment where he would find out if he was truly capable of fighting or not.

Thorn and Zaid traveled miles away from the city. With the help of Zaid's wind magic, they moved faster and without any problems. When night fell, they stopped at a small village with only a few houses and complete silence—no one was living there anymore. But as they entered the village, a monster suddenly attacked Zaid, and he screamed, "Aaahhh!"

Zaid's scream echoed throughout the quiet village. Thorn, who had gone ahead to check the area, came running toward Zaid. Somehow, Zaid managed to defend himself, though the monster was powerful and filled with cursed energy. Thorn rushed to protect Zaid, knowing that Zaid had no experience in fighting such cursed creatures. Thorn drew his sword and prepared for battle.

Zaid moved away to a safe place while the intense fight began between Thorn and the monster. Both were equally strong, and it was impossible to tell who would win. Zaid thought about helping Thorn, but he didn't know how to defeat a monster or fight it properly.

The battle was fierce. Thorn was cutting off the monster's body parts, but it kept regenerating them using its magic. Zaid realized that the only way to defeat it was to cut off its head. While Thorn was keeping the monster busy, Zaid tried to create a magical spell to decapitate it. At the moment the monster came close to him, Zaid used his magic and successfully cut off its head. He was terrified, but he managed to do it.

Thorn was very impressed to see how his student was growing stronger day by day. He healed himself with healing magic, but the wounds were too deep to fully recover. Without wasting time, Zaid immediately helped Thorn, and they began traveling to the nearest big city near the ocean—Sevvara, the most beautiful city in the country.

They began their journey toward Sevvara.

The chapter ends here.

In the next chapter, we will get to know more about the city Sevvara and about Chimera.
