"You looked so lonely here," she whispered, her voice low and suggestive. "Why sleep on the couch when there's space on the bed?"
Thaddeus caught her wrist, holding it firmly to stop her wandering hand. "Don't."
Lena only chuckled softly, ignoring the warning in his voice. She shifted closer, her perfume wrapping around him.
"Come on, Thaddeus. I know you feel it too. Why pretend?"
He sat up slowly, his grip still on her wrist, his dark gaze locking with hers.
"What you're doing is wrong, Lena. Don't make this mistake."
Her smile faltered for the first time, but she tilted her head, trying once more, her lips dangerously close to his ear.
"You don't have to fight it. No one will know."
Thaddeus pushed her hand away and rose to his feet, his expression like stone.
"Enough. Go back to bed. Don't ever try this again."
