Chapter 2 - Chapter 2: Undead Encounter

Chapter 2 : Undead Encounter

The carriage sped toward Ravenhold Fortress, pulled swiftly by two horses and escorted by a dozen mounted soldiers.

"Thank you so much," Leon said to Anastasia. His broken legs were now healed. Although it was still difficult to stand, he could now move his legs and sat beside her.

As he expressed his gratitude, Leon noticed information displayed above her head:

Anastasia

Beauty: 95

"Huh... What is this?" Leon wondered. Then, he spotted a small option on the left side of his vision. Curious, he clicked it, and to his surprise, it expanded.

Words appeared above the screen—visible only to him—reading "Pleasure Lottery System." To the left, below, four options were displayed: Personal Status, Lottery, Inventory, and Mission.

He quietly clicked on Personal Status.

Name: Leon

Age: 20

Race: Human

Potential: None

Affinity: None

Cultivation: None

Equipment: None

Arts: None

Beauty Collection: None

Next, he selected Lottery, which was divided into five categories: Common, Excellent, Epic, Legendary, and Divine.

The Inventory resembled that of a game, presented as a grid filled with numerous boxes.

As for the mission, there is the daily task. You need to have sex with two women with a beauty score of 90 and above.

Reward: 10 pleasure points.

Mission 1:Take a woman's first time with a beauty score of 90 and above

Reward: 1000 pleasure points

Mission 2: Make a woman fall in love with you with a beauty score 90 and above.

Reward: 1000 pleasure points

Mission 3: Having sex with the wife and lovers of others for the first time with beauty of 90 and above.

Reward: 1000 pleasure points

Mission 4: Make a woman with a beauty score of 90 and above obsessed with you.

Reward: 10000 pleasure points.

Mission 5: Having ten beauties obsessed with you.

Reward: Ascension Shop

So this is my golden finger in this world to rise, collect beauty all over the world and become stronger by accumulating points and use it for the lottery.

For the common lottery, I need 1 Pleasure point for every lottery, the excellent grade lottery , I need 10 pleasure points , the epic grade I need 100 pleasure points, the legendary grade I need 1000 points , and for the divine grade I need 10000 points.

Among the five lottery categories, there was a free draw—meaning Leon could draw once in each category, totaling five draws. However, he felt it wasn't the right time yet.

What if an item suddenly appeared in his hand? How could he explain it? Marcus might even interrogate him. That was something Leon wanted to avoid, especially now.

So, he decided to wait until he found a secluded place before using the lottery.

"System? Are you there?" Leon mentally called out, wondering if the system possessed its own intelligence. Unfortunately, no matter how many times he tried, the system remained silent.

Perhaps it functioned like those in games—simply awarding rewards upon mission completion.

Even so, Leon felt grateful for this unresponsive system. It was now his lifeline, giving him the means to survive in this strange new world.

As Leon pondered, the horses grew tense, whinnying nervously and slowing their pace as if frightened.

Inside the carriage, Leon, Anastasia, and Marcus became alert—Leon especially.

He peered outside. The surroundings were dim, overshadowed by towering trees that blocked the light. The carriage, designed much like a cave with its wide openings at the front and back, offered a clear view.

To Leon's horror, he witnessed an unbelievable scene below the woods: a dark mist rising from the ground, coalescing into undead skeletons—some clad in rusty armor wielding corroded weapons, others with decayed flesh, elongated limbs, and glowing crimson eyes fixed directly on them.

Among the undead was a skeleton cloaked in tattered robes, holding a bone-like staff. Three fireballs, each the size of a fist, hovered menacingly in the air before him.

"What... What is that?" Leon thought, feeling every hair on his body stand on end. A chilling cold washed over him, rendering him almost statue-like—struggling to move or even breathe.

"Hurry up! Spur the horses and get us out of here immediately!" a commanding voice shouted. It was Marcus.

The knights—those mounted and even the carriage driver—awoke instantly and urged the horses forward with sharp whips.

The carriage surged ahead as Leon watched in horror; the fiery orbs launched toward them. Fortunately, the knights and driver reacted just in time.

With a series of booming explosions—Boom! Boom! Boom!—the three fireballs detonated behind them.

Then Leon spotted more of those long-limbed undead crawling swiftly, their numbers growing as they pursued them relentlessly.

His heart pounded loudly—nervousness gripping him—this was the first time he had witnessed such a terrifying sight.

Some knights fired arrows, but the agile crawlers dodged them with ease.

Soon, the undead were closing in.

One of them leaped into the carriage. While, the knights riding horses flanked the carriage on both sides.

Panicking, Leon closed his eyes as the crawling undead grew larger, looming dangerously close to the carriage.

With a sharp clang, Leon heard a sword being drawn from its scabbard. Opening his eyes, he saw Marcus swing his blade—a blur of light too fast to follow—slicing the crawling undead in half.

"What! Oh my God!" Leon thought, taking a deep breath.

Outside the carriage, the surroundings grew darker as the sun began to set. Fortunately, just before another crawling undead could reach them, they emerged from the woods.

The pursuing undead, struck by the sun's fading rays, retreated with haunting howls.

Leon noticed smoke rising from the undead—their bodies burning under the sunlight.

"Huu... huu..." Leon exhaled deeply, that had been intense, he murmured. His muscles relaxed and his breathing slowly became stable.

Ahead of the carriage, Leon spotted the towering walls of Ravenhold Fortress—majestic and imposing, rising about ten meters high .

"So, this is Ravenhold Fortress," Leon thought in awe.

A few minutes later, they arrived at the gate. With the grinding sound of moving chains, the portcullis—an intricately designed metal gate—slowly rose upward, followed by the main doors sliding open to the sides.

Inside the fortress, a group awaited them. Leading was a middle-aged man—tall, muscular, with bronze skin and the bearing of a veteran knight—accompanied by other similarly imposing knights.

As they stepped out of the carriage, everyone moved forward.

"Greetings, Father," Marcus said, bowing respectfully. The soldiers dismounted and bowed alongside Anastasia, while Leon followed suit, remembering her instructions.

"Greetings, Lord Clayton!" they all said in unison.

"Good! Good! Good!" Lord Clayton exclaimed, patting Marcus on the shoulder.

Anastasia gently pulled Leon as they walked.

Leon followed her, glancing around despite the discomfort in his legs.

The land inside the fortress was vast, with crops growing everywhere: cotton, a plant resembling peanuts, sweet potatoes, and some unfamiliar vegetables.

"Listen carefully," Anastasia began. "Uhm... I forgot your name."

"My name is Leon," he replied.

"Alright, Leon, pay attention. When entering a fortress in the future, don't forget to obtain an Entry Token."

"What's an Entry Token?" Leon asked, confused.

"An Entry Token is your approval to stay within someone's territory. The tokens are divided into three types depending on the length of your stay."

She continued, "Each token has a number that allows the knights to monitor its expiration or how many days remain. The iron token permits a stay of up to ten days, the bronze token up to thirty days, and the silver token allows a stay of one hundred days."

"Of course, there is the golden token," Anastasia added, "but that's reserved only for certain individuals like nobles, wealthy merchants, or powerful mages and knights."

Leon nodded, understanding the explanation clearly.

"Also, don't forget to renew your token before it expires," Anastasia warned. "If you're caught with a expired token and cannot pay the required fee according to the territory's rules, you'll be sold as a slave."

"What?!" Leon exclaimed in shock. "Slaves?"

Anastasia nodded calmly. "I see—you've lost your memories, so you don't know the customs here. Let me explain. The lord of each territory collects fees from everyone who enters."

"That money is used to maintain the territory, pay the salaries of knights and mages, and especially to fund the purification of the area."

"Purification?" Leon asked.

"Yes, purification," Anastasia confirmed. "Did you see those undead earlier? Or how they seem to spawn from nowhere?"

Leon nodded.

"The land must be purified by mages every hundred days to prevent undead from appearing within the fortress or territory."

As Leon listened to Anastasia's explanation, they arrived at the knights' administration office. There, he observed Anastasia paying one silver coin and ten copper coins for a bronze token covering both their stays for thirty days.
