Whatever Vulcan was about to say is instantly cut off as an arrow whizzes through the air, missing Vulcan by a few inches, but it lodges in the soldier who has just spoken to him.
The soldier doesn't get the time to scream. His eyes widen with horror as the arrow protrudes from his chest to his back, it had pierced through his heart with accuracy.
Then he falls limp against the cold forest floor.
"Ambush!" Vulcan yells, stepping away from his soldier's fallen form and ripping his sword out of the sheath on his back. His eyes snap to Ruto's as all hell breaks loose around them.
"How is this possible?" Vulcan cries. All around them, arrows fly as more dragons burst out of the trees, surrounding them. These are his nephews' soldiers.
They shout their war cries, their weapons raised in the air. Then from behind one of the thick trees, a figure emerges.
Ruto's attention snaps to the familiar face.
