"Are you even listening to me? You've been quiet all day, what's going on?" Sanaya's lips pucker in a frown as she slumps beside Faelyn who doesn't seem interested in her rants.
For some moments, Faelyn doesn't answer. Her gaze is distant, lost somewhere deep inside herself.
"I m-marked him, I love Amendiel." She whispers at last.
Sanaya doesn't seem surprised by the confession, even if Faelyn doesn't say it, she already knows. Everyone in the kingdom probably did by now.
"So, what's wrong with that?"
"I shouldn't crave him so much…" Faelyn's hands twist in her lap, wringing invisible doubts. "After everything he's done, why do I feel like I can't breathe if he's not near? I want him so badly, do you think something is wrong with me?" Faelyn draws her knees to her chin, her voice trembling, her eyes blazing with confusion. "Why do I love such a ruthless dragon?"
