The sun is beginning to set, the warmth of the sun casting a golden glow around the earth.
Daela looks at the door anxiously; the soldier guarding it has just left, she has heard the footsteps retreating.
This is the chance!
She tiptoes out of the hut, the path is clear!
Her muscles shoot with adrenaline as she begins to run. She has to find Faelyn!
Far too engrossed with the intent to escape, Daela does not notice the male who walks down the same path until it's too late.
She slams into the hard body and staggers backwards at the impact; the strong fingers digging into Daela's biceps halts her fall.
"Where do you think you are going?!" The soldier sneers.
Daela's mouth grows bone dry, she opens her mouth to speak, but nothing leaves…her tongue remaining stiff in her mouth.
Goosebumps rise on her skin, hyper-aware of the fae's gaze on her… Watching her… This is also the same soldier that had dragged her out of Juta's chamber earlier.
