I could have at least used Appraisal to figure out what skill he used to appear suddenly in the air above me .
~Sigh~ i guess there's no helping it and i will most certainly be able to meet that creature again .
Raaaauuul , the Goblin Lord suddenly issued a loud and deafening roar then his aura began to rise even more and i began to suddenly hear a notification coming from the World's Will saying that the Goblin Lord entered its berserk state again , what a weird coincidence , was he really having this much anger and hatred towards me .
But why do i feel strange when looking at the said creature, he looked a lot stronger than before that was quite clear, but his complexion and skin tone both became a bit paler than the last i saw him and it has been only a day , this was a bit weird .
The huge goblin began to move towards me and with each step he took his size began to decrease until his height stopped at 7 meters tall and weirdly he treated me as if i wasn't existing and passed by me and went towards the now dying dear behind me .
As he got close to the dear he knelt besides its body and held it close to his chest for a few seconds before saying in a voice that was filled with grieve :
Goodbye, Raul, you were a good friend, i will miss you and i will make sure to kill that human as a tribute to you and i will be sure to tell the master of your courageous
No way, was what i thought, what was going on here, why was the scene in front of me looking so familiar to what happened with that Owl friend of his, i was loss of words, two friends of his died in my hands, was something wrong with me or with him, i'm not even sure whether to be compassionate about it or just laugh it of and what master .
But the weird yet oddly familiar scene wasn't the only thing that was currently happening , since another scene happened on the other side of the battlefield that caught my full attention to it.
A sudden cry suddenly was being issued by old man Larn caught my attention as he was actually screaming and yelling while saying with an apperant terrified tone in his voice :
It'sGluttonyRyuu, it's Gluttony, Ryuu .
The second he said those words,all the humans on the battlefield went into complete silence for some reason, then panic began to strike into their ranks , i was even able to see the high ranking Adventurers from before beginning to fall back towards the city walls with a horrified expression on their faces .
The moment the troops became this disoriented , monsters continued on their relentless assault but luckily there were no human casualties even now, since no matter what the thing they were disoriented about the boost to their strength was still taking effect, enabling them to barley hold on .
It's Gluttony , what is Gluttony , is this a disease or a plague of some kind why were they all acting like that ? .
I decided to wrap things up with the Goblin Lord in a quick manner to find out what was exactly going on here , but the moment that i turned my focus towards that Goblin Lord, i saw a disturbing scene .
He was swallowing the carcass of his deer friend whole, the moment he put it in his mouth the carcass begin to dissolve at speed visible to the naked eye then he swallowed it whole .
The moment he swallowed the carcass of his late friend the Aura around his body began to increase some more but the paleness of his skin simultaneously increased too , he closed his eyes and had a content expression as if he was in a bliss , quite in contrast to his filled with hatred agony face from earlier .
I looked at the surrounding monsters and saw that they were actually pulling into each and every carcass of their fallen comrades that were near them and beginning to fully and completely devour it , some conflicts were beginning to arise between the monsters on who would get to it the carcass, the strong getting stronger as for the weak they will be either killed by the humans or devoured by those who are stronger than them .
My reaction was a mix between different sets of emotions from shock to bewilderment to confusion to uneasiness .
The scene in front of me made my heart palpitate quickly and i felt that my spine got the chills , i was completely dumbstruck at how everything was turning out, but then i felt the sudden shift in the aura of the monsters that were surrounding me and the unease that i had just felt intensified .
Thos were the weakest bunch of the monsters army yet they were able to do things like these, what about the more stronger monsters that still hadn't join the battlefield , not to mention whatever that Gluttony thing was , its name was able to struck fear in these high ranking Adventurer's hearts , i don't want to imagine how would the lower ranking Adventurers fare if not for the effect of my skill .
Suddenly the gruff voice of Javo the goblin sounded from behind me forcing me to get focus more on the upcoming confrontation as he said :
You will die a painful death at the cost of what you did to my friends, human .
And what did i do to your friends, the Owl was a mistake and i already admitted that , but you are the one that just devoured the deer friend of yours just now .
Argghh , die .
Then he throw a punch at me i easily caught his punch in my hand and then replied to him with a simple punch of my own to his gut, i was hoping that amount of strength that i have used will be enough to knock him out but i guess i will have to use more strength if i wanted to finish this quickly .
The punch didn't knock him out but it forced him to stumble back for a quite the number of steps , creating a lot of debris and smoke on his way .
Arrrghhh my arm, my arm, a shrill scream escaped from the Goblin Lord and i waited for the smoke to clear to see what was exactly going on with that guy .
The moment the smoke got cleared, i was able to see that his right hand was nowhere to be seen and the rest of his arm had a huge and grave like wound in the place where his hand should be, i was about to contemplate on what happened when i felt something laying in my left hand and saw that it was the missing hand of Javo , never mind then .
I throw it to the side and for some reason that enraged him even more as he continued to say : you will pay, you will pay, you will pay ,
all while holding his injured hand you will pay, you will pay, you will pay, all while holding his now amputated and injured hand ,but as if i already hadn't witnessed enough weird scenes for the day, i witnessed the Goblin Lord growing his hand back .
But his green colored skin was becoming more gray than green , i don't know why but looking at him currently filled me with a bit of guilt for some reason, it was as if i was the bad guy here .
But since we don't have that much of time on our hands i will better wrap this up quickly and dwell on these kinds of feeling more later , the reason why i was in such a hurry was due to the sudden rise of the monsters aura and me who wanted to wrap this battle quickly to not allow any problems to occur .
I looked back to see that the situation on the battlefield was quietly leaning towards the monsters and some of the people were beginning to suffer from severe injuries and some of them were even poisoned and in an immediate need for healing, what is clerks doing, wasn't this being entirely their job and sole purpose why weren't they healing those that fell injured .
The Goblin Lord suddenly released a hum and as i turned, i was quite surprised to see the expression he had on his now almost completely gray colored face, i said expression but his face was actually emotionless as if he was no longer feeling a thing , he suddenly hit the earth beneath him with his hands forcing it to start trembling .
I first thought it will be the same familiar use of his earth manipulation skills like before but i waited for a few seconds but nothing happened, i turned off my Obsidian Armor skill since keeping it on any longer could probably lead me to expelled from the land, whatever that meant .
But then his attack came the same instant that i stopped using my skill, the earth beneath me restart to tremble once again and the whole area around me was suddenly put under a lot of pressure as if the gravity in the area was being forcefully increased , monsters around us began to avoid getting close to the area in effect as if their instincts were warning theme of the dangers that might befell them if they get close .
A sudden magical circle appeared beneath me and then holes began to open and close from under me , from these holes in the earth beneath me rose what appeared to look like a huge earth element cone shaped like a spear and i was in the center of this earth magical formation, i first presumed it to be some sort of a prison but then those earth like spears went back to the ground and more holes appeared .
I didn't quite understand what was going on until i got of an actual test of whatever that was, as one of those spears suddenly appeared from a hole that was beside me and when it appeared it actually began to change direction and that spear together with dozen other spears were magically launched at me , they came at me from all sides leaving me no room for maneuvering .
Since there was no way to evade, i decided that i might as well take them head on, the spear came crashing into me but the results of such attack won't be probably to the liking of Javo .
The moment that those spears made contact with my skin they directly shattered and directly dissipated and seeing that his attack ended in failure, didn't actually get that much of reaction from the Goblin other than him hitting the earth again more hardly this time but wasting no time i moved swiftly and appeared silently without Javo noticing using Stealth and Camouflage just a second before he launched his attack that consist of 60 to 70 earth spears .
Their end was still the same of hitting nothing but at how much speed i moved just now i was actually able to create an afterimage to stay in where i was before and it was quite weird to see and watch myself getting pierced like that, but i kinda enjoy watching this incredulous scene .
And i think that Javo quite like it too from the weird smirk he was currently having but i guess i will have to burst his bubble soon .
As i continued to watch the smiling victoriously stupid goblin, i was wondering why wasn't he able to find me like he were able to back at the Wicked Forest was it because the difference between our two strength was quite large, but if i'm remembering it correctly, regard said that my attributes appeared normal even though they weren't .
So how can the World's Will judge that there was a difference in our strength and for its judgement to be in my favor too, that was quite ridiculous but i really don't know any other reason to why wasn't he able to find me .
You look like you are having quite the fun , you won't care if joined you, right ?, i like rejoicing too but tell me huge guy, what exactly are we rejoicing ? .
I said this to Javo in one breath successfully gaining his attention and forcing him to turn around to see who was exactly taking to him , but the moment he turned around he first didn't see anything then a ~swoosh~ like sound came and he completely lost his ability to see anything, but one thing was certain he was currently flying .
Or sent flying to be more accurate, i greeted the goblin with a 80 percent of my strength, the punch was so strong that even before touching the goblin it sent a powerful shockwave , a so strong shockwave that sent the monster flying in the direction of the city barrier, and from how he flew like a broken kite, i was beginning to feel worried about him dying before being able to acquire any good skills from him, so i hurriedly went after him .
~Boooooom~
A few seconds later and as i was on my way i suddenly heard a deafening sound of something crashing and i assumed that this can only mean that he reached his destination , even from this distance the wind was becoming a bit unsettling mostly due to how strong was that shockwave .
As i was heading to the city walls, i noticed the monsters that have the strongest aura and unleashed a massacre killing most of them and healed most of the guys that were in need of healing , the moment that i appeared the clerks began to do their jobs accordingly, sweeping the whole battlefield didn't take more than a minute .
I then continue to head towards the city walls where smoke were now arising from, unaware of old man Larn trying to call me over for something important but i wasn't able to hear him from the chanting and cheering that was currently talking place, in addition to the fighting and clashing sounds still going on the battlefield .
I reached the city walls and i guess i earned some fear or respect from the guys on the walls as they didn't shoot at me like how they did with the guys, as i began to approach the place where i sent him flying in .
I was able to see that there was a hole the same size as that Goblin Lord or maybe a little bit smaller , now in the barrier that was surrounding the city and crashed through the defensive wall .
I followed the smoke while greeting the princess and the heroes but didn't wait for them to reply as i directly headed inside the city passing through the hole that the Goblin Lord created .
The giant was now laying down leaning into a house , the smoke was a result of the houses he destroyed on his way , but luckily it was only approximately 2 to 3 houses that were destroyed but with no casualties .
I went to the unconscious Goblin Lord and saw that his chest had a big hole in it that was beginning to actually heal but on a slower rate than when he grew his hand back, but weirdly enough he was still alive .
His skin tone and complexion have both turned grey completely and his amber eyes were now actually fully black , his eyes were now completely black with black veins like coming out of it and these veins were actually throbbing .
I hurriedly used Appraisal and the results were nothing short of a shock , it was empty his skill column was empty, his title was removed, and next to his name was the status Possessed, his Rank was S but there was one this that caught my attention an aliment state of some kind that he was currently having .
Devouring Seed ( Activated ) .
I thought my eyes were playing tricks on me so i used Appraisal once more to find out what was exactly going on here and that brought even more surprises , his attributes were actually decreasing and in a quite fast fashion too .
What with that Devouring Seed being active, was he being eaten alive or something and by what or who .
Huamaaan .
Suddenly i heard the Goblin Lord's voice but it was so weak that it felt as if it was fading away, i thought he was going to curse me for what i did to him but no his next and last words were : kill me, kill him, please .
He was actually pleading for me to end him, i was about to ask who was the him he mentioned and what exactly was going on with him, but i then saw the grave wound he had on his chest was beginning to close and he suddenly without missing a beat tried once again to come at me .
Wasting no time, i moved swiftly and got behind him and then i aimed a precise and a clear punch at the back of his head directly shattering it into pieces , but he didn't stop and continued his assault even though he was now without a head .
I was so disoriented by this that i wasn't able to focus on the battle at hand , he turned around and throw a punch at my head but the punch didn't have much effect even though it successfully hit .
The fist of his was stuck to my face but it was stopped from being able to move an inch , with Hunter's Instinct i directly delivered a punch at his extended arm completely obliterated it and turning it into a mound of flesh , he punched with his other, hand but i already regained my awareness of what was currently happening and i beat him to it and blasted his other hand leading it to the same fate as its counterpart .
A headless, armless gray goblin yet he was still alive , could he really be considered alive, but something that i was able to notice was that his healing abilities weren't activating any more , as if it ran out of fuel or something like that , he wasn't healing .
I thought he would fall now but no he actually began to kick aimlessly trying to attack me, quite tenacious luckily his strength was already decreasing by the second as i was able to closely observe it happening by constantly using Appraisal .
Otherwise he would have wrecked quite the havoc was those legs of his, suddenly he became as tall as i first saw him and began to swell , i didn't know what exactly was he going to do but i was certain that whatever that was, it won't end well if it was allowed to succeed .
So i took action immediately by directly delivering an uppercut to his torso that sent him flying upward, then i directly took off after him and i had already some clear idea on where to leave him .
I punched him towards that second army of monsters that was quite far in distance and he whistled away as he was sent flying there, then an explosion happened , the explosion dyed the whole scenery black, yes, black flames were swallowing that army of monsters and scene was witnessed by many strongmen on the battlefield .
A black raging fire scorching everything it made contact to in the horizon, turning monsters to ashes , seeing the devastating damage it caused, i was very happy to have made the right choice a crises like this could have probably cut the population here in the city by more than half .
As i was landing i caught a glimpse of a some sort of purple light coming from the direction of the sorceress from before and believed that they have already succeed in making that ritual of theirs work .
But suddenly i saw the same purple light appearing from the nobles district that had me doubting myself for quite a bit but not for too much since i saw literal monsters coming out of the direction of the light and began heading to the common people district , they weren't wrecking havoc aimlessly no they were as if they were being guided heading to a specific places .
But it didn't even took a minute since they appeared before the screaming and asking for help voices began to follow .
How, what, why was the monster here and what's with their organized movement and what's with that purple light that i just saw .
Those who pay the fine aren't actually safe from having to deal with monsters .
I was reminding myself of the words that Regard told me before then realization hit me, someone from inside the city was actually cooperating with the monsters or was he cooperating with the Demon king, i guess we will find out .
I went to where that light was coming from killing every monster i met on the way and these monsters were all high ranking monsters ranging from C Rank to A Rank but they all still got one shotted, they died without even being aware of what hit them
And in a 5 or more i was able to arrive at the noble's district to see what was going on there and who was responsible for this .
The sorceress , yes the people who were responsible for this were actually the sorceress that i had recently met at the gate previously, they were sitting in the exact same positions as the sorceress on the monsters side, sitting above the exact same magical circle and in front of them stood a huge like purple module working as a wormhole or a gate of some kind .
Guess which noble family's house where they were doing this ritual and covering the existence of that gate behind , the Bling family's manor who were the acting subordinates of the crown prince and the king which could only mean that they were also involved in this somehow, but why ? .
Could it be that were really okay with doing something like this, a treason to the entire human race for the sake of forcing the people of this kingdom to join the battlefield or for what damn reason , it's bad no matter what their motives were .
I then saw that there were a lot of blood stains around the area and from my gained experience in these past two days, i can already tell that those blood stains didn't belong to the monsters, it belonged to a human and my speculation was confirmed by a scene that happened a minute after i reached that conclusion .
Suddenly the gate flashed more brilliantly and a sorceress came from the gate and said :
The gate is becoming unstable, send more sacrifices and the lord is hungry send him some of the stored lambs too and you will need to hurry, you know clearly about the consequences of failure .
The sorceress that were sitting around the magic circle all nodded weakly, don't know if it was out of tiredness or nervousness, but they signaled one of the guards and as if he accustomed to doing this he began to enter a storehouse and came back with literal children chained and looking quite weak and thin as if they were starved for a long time .
They all have dull like eyes and there was bruises on their faces and dry tear marks all over their faces , but what really shock me with the sheer numbers that the guard came back with .
More than 30 kid the oldest of them seem to be on my age , males and females alike they were all chained up and wearing tattered clothes .
I already had guessed that the blood most likely to belong to human beings, but even in my wildest dreams, i didn't expect to encounter such a scene .
Human sacrifice and kids and young children at that, infuriated wasn't the words that i would with use to describe what i was currently feeling .
Wrathful, i was indeed wrathful i don't to do anything else other than pull all of their hearts out of their chest, the scene of the kids being like this tormented my hear for the first time since i have arrived in this world, i took this much damage and it wasn't even while battling with a foe .
Heal those who will be given to the lord , since he doesn't like his snacks to look unhealthy, as for the ones that are going to be offered as a sacrifice, well, leave them as they are .
HEALING THEM IS A WASTE OF MANA ANYWAY .
Yeah, that was the straw that broke the Camel back, there is no redemption for those guys after this, not that there was any from the start .
I GOT IT FINALLY DAD , WHAT FOLLOW YOUR HEART ACTUALLY MEANT, THIS KINGDOM, THIS WORLD, THEY ARE ALL MESSED UP BUT FROM THIS DAY ONWARD, THINGS WILL CHANGE TO THE BETTER .
